Re: What's the dress code going to be for your wedding?

I think I'm going for the Black Tie Optional....gives people more options. My SIL's wedding was black tie and my dad didn't have a tux so he worse a suite. I think you can't expect everyone to own one and I thought it was alittle rude actually. I asked her about it before the wedding because I wasn't sure what it meant and she said every man is expected to wear one. Ohh well I'm sure there were others who didn't.

I was just thinking of what I'll wear to a Black Tie optional wedding and I was wondering: what is the dress code going to be at everyone's wedding?

Ours is going to be 'wedding casual' I guess. Is there a name for that? How do I convey that on the invitation? I really want people to put on their most comfortable Dockers (for the men) and sundresses (for the women) but I guess that's partly because it's a day time wedding and partly because I'm not a fancy dress up type of girl. If they want to dress up they can, but I totally don't expect it.

I feel the same way as you but mom went for a formal gown so this kinda throws a wrench into the plans!

I trust my guests enough to get dressed up but, not over the top. I just really hope no one does wear jeans.

dont worry about it, its your mom and its fine for her to get really dressed up even if you want more of a casual look. If ppl come casual they'll understand why youre mom has on a very form gown

Re: What's the dress code going to be for your wedding?

We will follow suit with the black tie, we put it on my sister's invitations and everybody got dressed super nice. It was pretty cool!! These days your better off specifying. At one of my gf's weddings I saw someone at the church in SWEATPANTS and guess what, it showed up in one of the church pictures in the background.
