Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?
My rehearsal is at 7 the night before the wedding so eating after is out! Many people that must attend live kind of far away from the church too. So going home at 10:30 or later only to have to get up very early again is too much.We are actually doing at 4. I couldn't imagine trying to serve 20 people at 8:30. I would be up so late.
So we are doing a late lunch.early dinner----oh well!
That is the only way!

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?
We're having the same dilemma.I wanted our rehearsal and RD two nights before the wedding (so that would be Wednesday night). I REALLY didn't want to do it the night before because I don't want to be stressed or go to bed too late, etc.
Well, our church has a mass at 7:30pm and it's over at about 8:15pm. So we could only do the rehearsal at 8:30pm. Dinner at 9:30pm. I think that's too late.
So our priest scheduled us for Thursday night at 6pm (the night before the wedding), so we will do dinner at 7pm.
I'm still considering doing it on Wednesday at 5:30pm and then having dinner at 6:30pm. Just cuz I really don't want it the night before the wedding, but we'll see.

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?
It's not too late to eat afterwards, just don't schedule your rehearsal dinner too far from the church. The rehearsal really won't be that long.If you had to schedule the rehearsal at 7:30 because of the OOTers, then you really can't move the dinner up and exclude them.
Our rehearsal will hopefully start at 7 with the dinner at 8. I don't see a problem with that, unless you have a morning wedding the next day.

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?
our rehearsal itself starts at 6:30 so the dinner will probably be around 8 since we're have to rehearse a full mass and i want the readers to practice their actual reading from start to finish. we're having 3.

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?
Our rehearsal was originally at 6pm, so we could eat around 7 and then go home and get some rest, but when we called around to restaurants, no one would take us until 8:30/9pm during the holidays, so we changed our rehearsal to 7pm and then are eating afterwards. It will be a bit late, but I honestly don't expect to sleep that much. My cousin is probably going to bring our FGs home and they probably won't eat with us because of the time. You can't always please everyone- so do what you want!

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?
I don't think that's too late, if your Mom and sister are already planning on preparing it, maybe they could have everything basically set so there won't really be anything to do after the rehersal? We are taking the easy way out and just doing a casual pizza thing after the rehersal, ours will be around 7:30 also.

Re: What time is your rehearsal *dinner*?
I don't think having your RD after the rehearsal at 7:30 is too late at all, especially that your wedding isn't until 3:30 the next day. My rehearsal was at 7pm and we actually had the dinner prior to it, but only because my wedding was 10:30 the next morning. I think your friends/family will appreciate that they don't have to take a day off/leave work early.Good luck!
