I borrowed a few things:
One was my great-grandmother's wedding band, which we used during the ceremony. Also, one of my bridesmaids had started a tradition at our good friend's wedding last year - she bought a handkerchief and presented it to our friend at her wedding, and she said that we should pass it to each one of the girls in our group as we get married (there are four of us who grew up together). So, my girlfriends presented me with the borrowed handkerchief on my wedding day, and now I will pass it to the next girl from our group to get married. It is such a cute tradition! :) I also borrowed a garter that was worn by the women in my husband's family.

I married into an Italian family, so my mother in law pinned her gold horn charm inside my dress to keep all the evil thoughts (like jealous people) away. They have a word for it but I can't spell it or say it 'Malorkia'

I didn't know people still wear the Italian horn. I remember that from the early 80's.
It was old and borrowed for me.

It's written 'mal occhio' which means the evil eye. That's so funny, and very loving.

My 'borrowed' were also 'something old' - my sister's veil (cut and restyled to suit the trend, as she wed in '93 w/ a huge headpiece...not my style) & my mother's jewelry (necklace/earrings) that she received for her wedding in '67.
