I found the dress I like but am concerned about ordering it now - almost two years ahead of time. My Mom would do the alterations so I'm not worried about that but I'm worried about perserving the dress.
kam0813, you said you have your dress - how are you preserving it??
leave it in the bag away from direct sunlight and wrap a flat white sheet around the dress, your dress will be fine.

Re: When is too early to book?
I think booking 2 years in advance is fine. I'm not getting married for 18 months and I already have my church, reception hall and photographer. All my friends think I'm crazy but at least I'm going to get the vendors that I want. As for the 2005 prices my photographer already has his 2007 prices so I don't know if you really will lock in 2005 prices with every vendor. Some of my vendors that I'm loking at are giving me the 2006 prices.

I think it is fine to book now. This way you are pretty much guaranteed to get whatever you like. And you also have time to research different ideas

Yeah I also called my bridal salon and they told me not to worry they store the gown in a temperature control room and my dress will be safe with them until the wedding, so that made me feel better!

Re: When is too early to book?
I think if you book in advance it gives you a better chance of getting the things that you want (ie band, flowers, etc) sometimes if you wait those things may be booked already. GOOD LUCK..HTH
