When to order tux?

I've finished with most everything for my July wedding (with the exception of finding a DJ that I like within my price range). Now I'm wondering when my fiance and I need to order the tux. Many of the groomsmen are from out of town. Actually, the groom is out of town too! Also, 4 of 7 people who are going to need tuxes are 6'4" or taller. Do they need to have their tuxes specially ordered and how long will that take? Does anyone have any recommendations of tux shops? Thanks all! This site has been extremely helpful!

Glory read my posting about Broadway favors from March 1. I don't know if their lack of professionalism is common, but you may want to avoid any possibility that it wasn't.

When to order tux?

Joanna, You should reserve your tuxes at least 2 months before your wedding. The sooner you reserve them, the more time you will give your guys to get measured. For your out of towners, they should go into a tux shop by them and get measured. The shop that they go to SHOULD NOT charge them for the measurements as it is an industry courtesy (Some shops may charge). At my place I ask that I have all of the measurements in one month prior to your wedding so I can make my final preparations, if needed. Hi Joanna, We used Dante in Westbury. Ask for Mike if you go there, he is the owner and he was great to work with . We found them from the web. Look at www.dantetux.cjb.net. They have a great wedding special online. Good Luck, Lisa

When to order tux?

Hi Joanna: My fiance just ordered his tux with the groomsmen and my wedding is May. I feel ordering them now gave me time to make any changes, etc. I too have an out-of-town groomsman. He gave us his measurements and I gave them to the store. Most tuxes are not ready until a week or two before because they rent them out a million times from now until then. Give yourself time. My co-worker ordered 8 tuxes and 2 days before her wedding she received 8 tuxedos in all childrens' sizes. Order 2 months before and check in once ever 3 weeks to confirm everything.
