Re: Where will your FMIL be on the morning of your wedding day?

My FMIL will be at her house but she has seen me in my dress so if she wanted to be with me it wouldn't bother me...but that is a personal call.

Re: Where will your FMIL be on the morning of your wedding day?

I invited FMIL to come to my house for makeup/hair. She only has 2 sons and will never the mother of the bride. She hasn't decided what she will do because it seems she would like both. I live 55 miles from FH's house, so she has to make a decision.
I would like to have her there because she's such a sweetheart. It will bring us good memories in the future.

Re: Where will your FMIL be on the morning of your wedding day?

I think it totally depends on your relationship with FMIL. We're all getting ready at a hotel and so FMIL, my mom, and bridal party (including fsil) will all be there.

To be honest, I sort of want some time with JUST my bm's, but my mom would be very hurt if I sadi this, so I'm sucking it up for the imte being....

Do what is going to make you most comfortable and happy on that day, but also consider as of that day, she's your MIL, no longer 'future' MIL... I'm rambling...just do what makes you happy

Re: Where will your FMIL be on the morning of your wedding day?

My FMIL will most likely be with both of us...we are getting ready 4 houses away from each other. Though FH is not allowed to see me. She will probably bounce back and forth but me and my mom arent extremely close-she has been mom to me for the past few years. She will probably be torn about who to stay with.

I'm curious as to why she wouldn't want to be with her son while he's getting ready?

It's a little strange to me, but IMO, I agree, it's your call to make.

I was thinking that too but maybe she wants to be with her daughter who is a bridesmaid. Or maybe she just wants to be with the girls. It's a lot more fun to help girls get dressed than guys.

MY FMIL is hinting around (and straight out asking at this point) if she can be with me, my bridal party, and my mom on the morning of our wedding.

I am getting ready in my hotel room in the city with my bridal party and mom.

I feel that I really didn't want ANYONE from his family seeing me prior to the Church... Other than his sister, who is a bridesmaid. Is it unreasonable for me to feel this way? Anyone else feel this way?

What's customary?

I agree that everyone has, and will have, different relationships with their FILs. Some people say that the wedding is all about the bride/couple, others say it's about the families. I say, it's both. Everyone has an emotional investment in the wedding, and while it is a special day-it's also ONE day. Regardless of only son, third son or one of 6 kids-you are marrying into her family and she's going to have an opinion.

How you handle the wedding can affect your future relationship with your FMIL and it may not be worth it ultimately. In-law issues are hard, I have them too but they are issues after the wedding so you are probably luckier this way!

Re: Where will your FMIL be on the morning of your wedding day?

If you're getting your hair and makeup done at a salon, maybe you can invite her along for that, then she can get dressed at her house with her son. That way you are including her on the girl side of things, but she'll still be there when her son is getting ready.

I have involved my inlaws in every step of our wedding,,,and they have been unbelievable throughout the entire process...same with my parents! The morning of,,my fmil will be at my house getting her hair and make-up done and then she will return home to get ready and also help FH get ready and then one of our photographers will be at FIL's house taking pix's of the groomsmen/fh and fil's...

I invited FMIL to come to my house and get her hair done with me and the bridesmaids that morning...She doesn't want to and that really made me upset because I thought she would want to be included...Oh well!
