When I went to Patken she said they would match a photographer to my personality....whatever that means. I am not sure in the 20 minutes that I spent listening to her schpeell (sp?) she could match me up.

oh ok so i was right, for a second i thought i gave out the wrong information lol, thank you for clearing it up

Actually - they pic your photog after the engagement shoot - they take a bunch of pictures. . .then you get to look at them on the comp.

Then they ask you questions about them - which pictures you liked the best, which made you feel uncomfortable and what your concerns are. The guy actually took notes on what i was saying , lol

then they tell you your photog a few weeks later. . .
i have had a GREAT experience with them so far BUT if you need to know your photog from the beginning then i wouldnt rec. them. . . but for us it was great bc i didnt have a preference

good luck!

Yeah sometimes I post in both. Sometimes one is more helpful than than the other. I think I am going to be dreaming about phototgraphers all night long, hahhahahha. Im gettting delirious. The damn thing is that some of the photo I posted above are not opened on Sat and the others are opened during the week so its going to be so tough for me to come from the city all the way to LI, only Sherwood* is there on Sats

Yeah....that is tough.

Sherwood is the farthest one out there, depending on which Patken office you head to.

Re: Which is the best Photographer? w/poll

Out of the ones you have mentioned i have heard all good experience from people I know that used Franklin Sq photographers however i never went and met them personally.

Patken my sis has them booked and they do awesome work from what i have seen but when i went and i saw them i didnt like the fact that they tried to rush me in making such an expensive decision in 10 min. We were asked when we would be making a decision and i said in a bout a week we have a few others we want to see. He turns around and says ook because i could offer you a few more things but only if you were making the decision in 10 min. So we said well what are you offereing and he wouldnt tell us because we didnt want to decide so fast.

Sherwood Triart all i know is my FSIL booked them and she said they arent negotiable on anything. I dont know how true that is because i think everyone is negotiable if they want your business.

Twelfth night i know nothing about.

I havent book any of these so i cannot vote lol but i would tell you to check out F.I.N.E. A.R.T. When we went there we clicked with the owner and he was up front about everything. I dont think many people on here have used them but some have and they have gotten great reviews. There work is amazing.

Hope this helps you!!!

Choosing a photographer in 10min , thats a NO NO, you cant do that in just 10 min. Thanks everyone, I think I will visit 3 out of the 4 I posted above and a couple of others.

IMO, Sherwood is in a league all by themselves (I've met w/ Patken & wasn't too impressed, and I've seen work from 12th night). They are more expensive, but their work is incredible. They've won tons of awards, photographed celebrity weddings, but mainly b/c they're ******** photographers (I'm a photo major - can u tell?)

Re: Which is the best Photographer? w/poll

I too had the same experience with Patken of book now, and you'll get so and so. I do NOT like thats sales approach at all, therefore did not book. However I too am in the process of looking. I met with F.I.N.E Art as well, and they were REALLY nice and thorough. I learned soooo much about photography after meeting with them. Patken just asked me my opinion without explaining, where as F.I.N.E Art did both. I plan on meeting with Sherwood Triart and willlet you know! HTH!!!!
