I just want to state for the record, that I have the two shots I mentioned, as well as MANY of the other ones we've discussed, and I don't find this offensive at all. I think it's hysterical! We have plenty of overly posed shots that I absolutey adore, and just as many that I can't stand. Everyone has different preferences and noone is trying to insult anyone else or say that anything is better/worse than anything else.

I'm the one who started this thread and I certainly didn't intend to insult anyone.

The funny thing is that some of the pet peeve shots mentioned actually reminded me of photos I want!

This board is about opinions. A few weeks back I asked for opinions about BM dress colors I was considering. Some people really disliked the color I was considering. I ultimately chose that color despite what others said because it's my wedding and I'm going to make choices based upon what my FI and I would like.

So what if you have some of the photos some of us dislike? If you're happy with the result, who cares what some of us think?

I happen to like the photo where the bride is looking in the mirror (the one where it's her reflection that's photographed while she's looking in a small, handheld mirror). I guarantee there are people who thinks it's a 'cheesy' photo. Guess what? I'm going to have that photo taken because I like it :)

me too.

When we were looking at photographers, one of them had a shot that I hated in every album. It was the bride sitting on somethiing (ledge, bench, whatever) with her dress pulled all the way up past her thighs, one leg bent at the knee. It reminded me of a 'centerfold' only with the woman fully clothed.

I know a lot of people here use that photographer, so I don't want to offend anyone, but knowing that they took and apparently loved to take that shot was one of reasons that we didn't go with them.

OMG...I totally can't stand this pic...and I have it!!! Before our wedding, I officially stated how I was NOT going to take any pics on the Milleridge's piano...it's just not my style...but, I was in lalaland the day of my wedding and I just wanted the photographer to take as MANY pics as he possibly could get...so I agreed to do some piano shots...so, there I am sitting on the piano with one leg bent and the other sticking out of my dress...however, no one told me to hike my dress up so my pic looks like I have a pegleg...I can't stand this pic...it's so cheesy and totally not my style...

However, the pic in my avatar is one of DH and I...I'm laying on the piano and DH is leaning on it...it happens to be one of my faves!!!!

these are hilarious!!!! Mine isn't so much about a certain pose - but it's when pictures are being taken at the very end of the night and the groom's boutineer (sp?) is all wilted.

My sister and her husband have this great photo of the two of them at the end of the night- except his white rose is all brown and dead. I'm not sure what the solution is - having a replacement boutineer. . . having a better florist, or what - but it looks so silly.

my least favorites are the centerfold shots, with the dress hiked up to the thigh to expose the garter.....and the bride getting ready and in her underwear....just because i would so not feel comfortable showing those shots to people.

and my photographer was the father of two of my studetns.....so it would have been really uncomfortable, since I knew they would want to see the pictures once they were taken, and having my students looking at my thigh, or my underwear is not my style......

although, Kathy116 took some amazing shots before she was dressed, and they are some of my favorite pictures.....but you can't really tell it's not her dress.....

i think a lot of it depends on the photographer

I know that everyone has this picture taken...but, I don't like the pose with the bridesmaid's bouquets all around the bride's dress/train. My BM's had red/white roses and I was so afraid of getting stains on my gown from the rose petals (which happened anyway when people threw the petals at us in front of the church) But, I didn't have that shot taken cause I thought it was too old school.

MY BIGGEST one! My mom has that pic in her album, they have been married for 31 years, time to retire that one

Or have you have seen the all groomsman one where they have them lined up with one hand in front and the other behind them, kind of like a ta-da pose. I hate that one too, and my photographer actually did that one.

I absolutley HATE the one where the groomsmen lift the bride so she's 'lying' in their arms.
I'm not crazy about the male equivalent one either- the groom in the middle of the BM as they hike up their dresses. Can we say CHEESY!!!!

Plus I hate the limo shot. when the B&G are in one door and the photographer is taking the pic thru the other door. How can we say? 80's!!!

I'm not a big fan of the one with the bride & groom hunched over coming through the 'tunnel' created by the BM's and GM's holding up their hands. I'm sure they'll take that one of us though!

I hate that one too. As well as the bride and MOB either looking in the mirror together ot out a window with their hands resting on top of one another.

I hate the pic of the bride looking out the window... Like she is waiting for him. No, he is somewhere playing PlayStation while you are getting dressed for 3 hours.

I also hate the picture of the bridesmaids looking jealously at the bride's engagement ring. I'm not in this to be envied for my rock.
