as i work in a jewelry store i get this all time.... all gold is naturally yellow so they add alloys to it, like nickel and some other stuff, and then it is rhodiumed in a platinum finish. its no big deal, take it to your jeweler and they can fix it for u!!

if you have insurance for your ring, a rhodium treatment should be free.

dont worry....my ring is 18K gold and I have had it dipped 2 x's in one year...im going to have ti dipped again right before the wedding...they say that its common...

thanks ladies. feeling much better about the ring now. im actually really exicted to get it dipped and see how nice it will look after! its a bit scratched up from always wearing it all the time.if i do it now, its still safe to do it again right before hte wedding? about 7 months from now...

its should be, it all depends on how hard u are on ur ring.... i do mine like every 2 months, but i also work the jewelry store.... you should be good!!!

You should be able to have your jeweler re-dip it for you.
ITA i've done this with my other white gold rings, they re-dip it and it looks like brand new.

Dont worry there are places you can get it done in one day mine was done in one day. They polish all the scratches out before they dip it - everything will be just fine...

I NEVER take my e-ring off so when I got my wedding band and compared it to the e-ring you could definitely tell the difference between the two!

OMG im so happy you posted this!!! ive been starting to notice this on my ring, have it just under a year....and its been FREAKING me out!! i didnt even wanna say anything to anyone, especially FH cuz he'd freak out!!but now that i know this is supposed to happen i feel so much better!!!

this happened to one of my rings that i never took off - that is why I ALWAYS take off my e ring - just get it redipped

i'm gonna try and get in the habit of taking it off when i go to bed and shower. i actually have a calus on the side of my little finger from the ring so maybe if i take it off that will get better too

It happens!
I notice it esp. next to the wedding band. Jeweler said to come in right before the wedding he would redip it and it will look brand new next to the band. No worries! It can look shiny and new all over again!!!!!

got the ring re dipped this morning...looks amazing! only took about an hour because we got there right as he opened the stand and the machines werent on yet. only charged ten bucks and fh got his chair fixed too. sooo happy with how it looks now!!

i have the same problem. some people it happens faster depending on the oils of your skin and your everyday life.my dads cousin is a jewler and he said its golds natural state and just wants it to go back to regular gold so it eventually fades off.
just have it redipped. its pretty cheap..like 30 bucks.
