I pick it up at Mineola.

So technically I am on many lines. Usually Huntington or Ronkonkoma lines.

In winter months when I’m afraid to let Jim drive up that steep hill to get to the train station I use the Hempstead line which is half a block from my house. Express four stops to Penn.

I take Mineola too! When I start work, I'll probably be on the 8:58 to Hunterspoint Ave so I can get the 7 to Grand Central. Good thing lawyers don't show up to work til 9:45-10:00. Of course, I have no idea what time I'll be coming home at night!

I'm on the Port Jeff branch ...take it in to Hunterspoint Ave. in Queens and then the 7 train to Grand Central.

We're like commuter twins--except your commute is probably twice as long from Port Jeff

Actually I'm on the Port Jeff line but I pick the train up at Northport. How about you?

Re: Who is an LIRR commuter? What train?

I take it from Mineola, so I usually get to Grand Central in about 35 minutes. I just wish the Hunterspoint Ave train ran later than 6:44 to get back out here. I'm never going to be on that train!

Oh wow you come home late! I luck out, I bolt from my office by 5:30pm and make the 5:47pm train from HP. I'm in the Chrysler Bldg. so all I have to do is run underground and the 7 train is right there.

Right now I take the Huntington line to Cold Spring Harbor, but soon, (if we get this house we're buying) I will be taking it to StonyBrook, or the Ronkonkoma line. I usually leave the office at 7:00.

I used to take the same train/line, but recently I moved to Kings Park and left my city job.

What a great idea for you commuters to try to meet up though! Help make it go faster...

Ronkonkoma 5:53 out of Penn

That's my dad's train I used to take it with him when I lived home. I will be on it (in the first car) in 2 weeks, when I go to Bethpage for my fitting!

I usually meet him on the plstform, but I think he is on vacation that week

Oh, I'm in the Met Life building! I start work for the law firm I worked at last summer this September and I'm definitely worried about the hours. At the earliest, I'll be leaving at 7, but I think it's going to be more like 8/8:30. I may end up just taking the shuttle and then the 1/2 to Penn because I HATED standing in Woodside late at night.

Oh wow - thats why it takes you longer to get to HP. Yeah if your a 1st year I wouldnt plan on leaving work early - they wont like that too much! yeah I dont blame you, I would rather go through Penn than Woodside - even with the convention going on!

Re: Who is an LIRR commuter? What train?

Maybe we should all try to meet in Trax or one of the Mustangs one night before we head home.
