I am not going to take pictures before because I dont want FH to see me before I walk down the aisle. We pushed the wedding ceremony up a half hour to give us more time between to account for this.

We are not. I'd like to have my ceremony at 2 and then the CH at 4- This way we can get our pictures taking care of and our guest can go to the pub for a few while they wait (we are getting married in Ireland)

I'm going to take single pictures and get all the pictures of me with my bridal party and family beforehand though.

We had all of our formal pics done before the ceremony. We had the moment we first saw each other and it was special but we had 3 hours to take pics and I'm so glad we did. This way we didn't inconvenience anyone but having a large gap between ceremony and CH and we didn't miss our CH. We took pics at my aunts house and she catered in food and drinks and everyone just hung out and relaxed. I wouldn't have it any other way.

One more point, I didn't want to get pulled out of the reception for family shots. I wanted to be in the room the whole night and we were.

Best decision I ever made. My photographer recommended it and I thank her for that. She wanted us to do the pics a few days before of just us, but I squashed that. That was pushing it.

If we were getting married at the hall I would b/c I don't want to miss the cocktail hour, but now we are getting married at church so I will take the pictures after the ceremony.

We're talking about taking pictures before the ceremony...we're having the ceremony and reception at the same place...we want to be able to enjoy our day and since our ceremony doesn't start until 6:30, we want nice outside(hopefully sunny) pictures...
What the videographer is going to do is keep him in one place and tape his first reaction upon seeing me...and then we get our own 'moment' together...
I still think it will be an emotional trip down the aisle though...even if I do see him beforehand!!

Since we are getting married at the hall, we've decided to do pictures before. I don't think it's a problem seeing FH before the ceremony and it will simplify things for after.

I am... I don't have any problems with it. We will have a moment all to ourselves when we see eachother all dressed up without a hundred people staring at us, we can talk to each other, hug, etc. I will also feel less nervous about everything having him with me from the beginning of the day.
We will also be there for our entire CH and reception, we are paying lots of $$ for this shindig and don't want to miss any of it.
I still feel that the ceremony will be special-- when I am walking down the aisle, it will be to go and take my wedding vows, and when we walk back down we will be husband and wife...

I've heard from photographers that it is a lot better to take them before, but i can't get over the thought of seeing him before the ceremony.

Same here. We thought about it for about a quick seond and we both decided we want to wait till after the ceremony.
