I said the li hair thing not to insult anyone but to describe a style. Prom hair may have been a better way to describe it. That was exactly what I was talking about.

I said the LI flowers thing to be funny. None of this was meant to offend anyone. I certainly was not talking about anyone in particular anyway. I actually stopped looking at most wedding pics on this board and all on the review board because I am sort of out of the wedding thing finally.

If you were offended, I am sorry. I did not meant to offend anyone. I was simply trying to explain the difference between the NY style which is more simple and the LI style.

One last thing:

It was because I wanted a simple (less prom style) that I went to a NYC stylist instead of anyone on LI. I knew I had a better chance to get the look I was going for.

He is not a vendor on here. I found him elsewhere. He is from NYC and does not cinderella long island like hair dos. He does up dos which are natural and not glued in place.

There are plenty of updo's that arent over sprayed or over curled....and HONESTLY
I would rather have over sprayed and over curled hair the day of my wedding,,rather than a frizz ball...............

I agree...I thought we were all here to support each other (ON LONG ISLAND). I rarely post comments like this, but I just have to say that generalizing everyone on this board is wrong. We are all individuals that have different styles. And driving 45 minutes away to NEW YORK CITY will NOT change the look of flowers....or Hair Styles for that matter. I can promise you that.

Im just don't most of us brides show a picture to our hairdresser of what we want. Then its not really the hair dressers fault its the brides fault. I can say my hair wasn't curled on that day. But I think yours was no?

I know lots of LI florists who get their flowers in NYC?

There are always going to be people in this world who think throwing down a lot of money means that's the best - that's what allows others to charge crazy prices - when there are people who are willing to pay those prices for a name, regardless of how the results look!

I use Jennifer as my regular stylist. She used to work at my Salon and I have seen her a few times at her place.

I have never had an updo or anything done by her but let me tell you, she cuts hair GREAT!!!!!!

Anyhow.. to the original poster (so sorry you had to go through this!) we'll take this full circle. My stylist was also Sara from Gorgeous Faces and I HIGHLY recommend her IN the course of this unfortuante turn of events in your thread, I do not recall if you contacted her or not - but she is really terrific

not sure if she was mentioned on this thread yet but I think Tarale is one of the best hair stylists and so sweet too, from pics I've seen I also think Maria from Concours D Elegance,Sarah Rock, Vicky Casey, and Denise Venti are very talented.
