woodbury country club

does anyone have any first-hand experience at woodbury c.c.? how about crest hollow?

I just wanted to let you all know it was a success. They loved the basket and everyone thought it was a great idea. He asked her while she was giving a test to her students. He sent one of the students in with a dozen red roses and a card attached that in spanish(her subject) said will you marry me--she screamed, he walked in and the students screamed--she said YES! I thought that was a pretty cool engagement......They booked the Fox Hollow for 10/01 Gina :)

Good Luck!

hi, we have been to many functions at the crst hollow. we are having my daughters reception there. they have seperate room for the cocktail hour with emough seating for eveyone. no one has to stand we have never had a bad experience. the help are all friendly and helpful.

Hi, I'm about to go to my first fitting at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. Does anyone have any pointers for me? What should I be bringing aside from my undergarments and shoes? Should I buy my crinoline from them? Anybody have any good or bad experiences with them?

Good Luck!

HI.. THE ONLY THING I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT CREST HOLLOW WAS THAT I FELT LIKE I WAS IN A HOTEL. IT IS SO BIG. THEY HAVE SO MANY DIFFERENT ROOMS THAT THERE WOULD BE TOO MANY BRIDES AT ONCE. I ALSO THOUGHT THAT CHARGING YOU AN EXTRA 500 DOLLARS FOR HAVING THE COCKTAIL HOUR OUTSIDE WS A BIT MUCH. I LOKED AT BOTH CREST HOLLOW AND FOX HOLLOW IN THE SAME NIGHT. THE ONLY DIFFERNCE WAS THE VIEW AND THAT THE FOX HOLLOW CHARGES GRATITY BEFORE THE TAX AND CREST HOLLOW AFTER THE TAX PER PERSON.

Good Luck!

I've been to several business functions at the Crest Hollow. The wait staff was professional and the food was always enjoyable.

On the downside...In my personal opinion, the decor is a little big and overbaring, in my personal opinion. And the electronic chirping bird outside the main entrance is a little much (you'd think they'd turn it off in the winter months).

If the decor is your style, then I think it might be a worthwhile choice.

woodbury vs fox hollow

WE checked out both of them and found many things diff between them. The rooms at Woodbury were much smaller and the decor a bit more overbearing (IMHO). FH was able to accomodate our 185 people...and set our min guarentee at 125. Both had staff that were very friendly and helpful..

Marble, chandeliers and glitz are not our style- this is more of a chalet setting w/ excellant food and service. One waiter per table...during the reception is a nice touch for our guests.

Bring your appetite! The cocktail hour is very lavish and during the reception, you have a choice of entrees, or you can sample all of them! Never heard of a place that will offer guests seconds of their entree! Just expect to pay for this. I negoitated a better rate by having a daytime wedding and he knocked off an additional $3/person...which with 185 guests is a savings of $555!

I have to agree with you about the decor at The Woodbury CC. We went there to check out a band show and I thought the decor(in my opinion) was a little much, I thought it even more about The Crest Hollow.

woodbury countrlub

Woodbury renovated the entire place last year, so it might look very different now. When I was there last Jan, they said that they the main idea was to tone down the decor a lot. I thought both rooms were very spacious.

PS- I am having my wedding there.

I've only had good experiences with Crest Hollow. I think it's the most beautiful catering hall out there! That was my second choice. We decided against it because it's really far away from Queens where most of my family are. We booked Russo's on the Bay.

Offer to go when they have events planned - and ask to taste lots of stuff at once. You wouldn't buy a car without test driving it first to make sure it suits your needs....this is one of the biggest expenses you'll have in your newly married life. Be very critical....someone on this board suggested that you shouldn't have to taste because , if its a fine establishment - there should be no question as to the quality of the food. Just yesterday I was speaking with a very well educated professional who bought an Infinity without driving it first. Great car, right? He hated how it handled and sold it. Not all things are the same for all people....)

It is important that you be completely comfortable with your decision. If you're not - go elsewhere. There are plenty of other people out there who will cater to your needs. You shouldn't have to 'push' for anything...
