Honestly I would wear what I loved, but my mom is very outspoken and I'm sure I would never hear the end of it if she didn't like it. That would ruin my night. Thankfully she loves my dress more than I do right now.

if i felt it was 'the one' and mom didnt like it, then i would still get it b/c its how i FEEL in it, not what my mom thinks, but me and my mom have a similar style so im hoping this doesnt happen

Hi Everyone - Would you ever buy a wedding dress that your mom didn't like?? My mom and I have very different taste. She does like some of the dresses that I try on, but she hates the dresses with the pick-ups on the bottom and I happen to gravitate toward those dresses. I really like one that my mom hasn't seen yet, but it has pickups and I'm pretty sure she is not going to like it. What do you think?? I am so indecisive on dresses as it is and this doesn't help!! What do you think??

i did this and for my fitting when my mother saw it she loved it.

go with your gut and get what you want....

I would have to say no, I probably would not buy a wedding dress if my mom hated it. We are really close and I really value her opinion.

Personally, I wouldn't. If she thinks a dress looks awful on me then I completely trust her opinion. My mom is always the only one that's honest when it comes to things like that. She doesn't sugarcoat like my friends might. The only thing I put my foot down about was that I wanted a strapless dress. At first she thought it was a bad idea because I'd be uncomfortable etc etc but once she saw the dress on me, she changed her mind.

I'm dragging my mom to everything (fittings, makeup trials, hair trials) because I definitely want her opinion.

Then again my mom have pretty similar tastes as well.

I do value my mom's opinion a lot. She didn't want me to get a strapless dress and I knew that it was what I really wanted, which is what I ended up with.
