Anyone doing a 'European Wedding' Reception?

I am, but not exactly sure how to orchestrate it....would greatly appreciate your input (timeline)..if you are having one TIA!

OK--In Europe they have a formal sit down dinner (just like in a restaurant)

There is NO... sit down eat app. get up and dance....sit down eat salad...get up and dance...sit down eat entree....get up and dance...sit down eat cake....get up and dance....

Everyone eats the meal with drinks flowing from waiters for about 1 hour and then.....the party is started with music....

This is what they do in European countries...I have also been to a wedding in the Hamptons where this was done...It was fabulous---I said to myself (and this was 3 years ago) I want this at my wedding!!

It is something that has to be worked out with the maitre'd and band.....

What they do in Eupore:

- Ceremony
- Restaurant/Meal
- Dancing

very different

my family in italy doesnt even have music - they just get married, take pictures and then have a huge meal. . . and everyone just hangs out - there is no dancing or anything - i am not sure if that is a custom in Sicily or just how my family does it though

I have been to a wedding set up in that style, but we are not having one like that. It is a nice idea because there are no interruptions during dancing but it would be too much work on my part to orchestrate it.

There is not always dancing.

Almost every wedding I have been to outside of the NY area is like this.
