How much per plate?
Hi girls, I saw a similar thread on here a while back and wanted to kick it up again. I'm trying to decide on my venue and was wondering how much everyone is paying per plate? Either at your booked venue or the places you've visited. In the thread I saw people listed it this way
Venue Name
$ per plate (+ tax +20% or including all)
Day of Week
Minimum Guarantee
Any special accommodations.
So far I have the following info
The Riviera
65-85 (+tax +20%)
Thursday cheapest, increasing to highest on Saturday.
Minimum 100 - 140
Includes all (including centerpieces) but ceremony fee of $500
Sand Castle
195 (including all)
Weekends
225 guarantee
Includes everything, they are not offering honeymoon package anymore.
If you get married during the week price and guarantee are cut in half
Giando's (Brooklyn)
weekday 150 (+tax, +10% gratuity, +20% service charge)
Weekend 195(+tax, +10% gratuity, +20% service charge)
150 guarantee
Flowerfields
Price varies according to number of guests - I was basically quoted a price based on 125 guests at 110 pp +tax & tip, for every 25 guests price goes up $5- so 100 guarantee makes the pp 115 - ceremony fee of 1500

Re: How much per plate?
I think that the price differs based on when you are getting married, like I am doing my wedding in March and I can tell you that the Sandcastle isn't that much and they only charge 8.875% tax and not the 20%. They also were willing to work with me on the guarantee...I have a ton of other quotes from March as well if you want them, but I am not sure whether or not that is helpful

Re: How much per plate?
Yes, depending on the time of year, the prices def vary. I believe Nov-Mar are the off peak months for most places.I am booked at the Swan Club for Oct (which is a peak month). I am having a Sunday wedding and they are charging me $70 per person plus tax and 20% service fees. A Sat would be about $30 more per person.

What date did Flowerfield give you this quote for?

Re: How much per plate?
Are you interested in anything farther east than Flowerfield? I booked at East Wind but unsure if you are interested. Time of year def makes a difference. We got a great deal for booking in March as opposed to a different month in the high season (May - Oct)

Re: How much per plate?
I agree about East Wind. We got an amazing price for a Saturday Night wedding in March!

Re: How much per plate?
East wind is beautiful, but I want a high season date :( And I'd like the ceremony outside. Preferably by the water.

Who what venue!? Oceanbleu? They are crazy expensive but AMAZING.
I felt bad going a little over 100 pp but we wanted Saturday night in May... so oh well. I hope we didn't pay too much.

Where are you getting married? I spoke with a friend today and she told me she was paying 195 and I was flabbergasted, but 240...I am sure it will be worth it though!

Re: How much per plate?
To be honest...you can't even go just by the per plate. you have to consider all of the extra's. some places that i looked at were $90 for a saturday night in march and sept/oct before the tax and 20% but i would be responsible for renting chairs, and covers for chairs, and making or buying menu's, and cocktail hour would be the bare minimum with food. all seafood is extra per person, especially sushi. many places do not even offer entertainment for cocktail hour. I think it is more of the overall picture and breakdown that you need to look at when figuring out the cost and if it is worth it.Welcome New Vendors
