Jordan Almonds = Broken Teeth

Just wondering if anyone has had tooth related issues with almonds at weddings, etc...

I'm italian therefore jordan almonds were pretty much required to be at every place setting at my wedding... I had ones imported from Italy...

my boss's wife cracked a tooth and ended up getting a root canal... and I ended up cracking a molar too!!!

Anyone else run into these issues?

Live and learn...

I should have put a dental work disclaimer on the tags so I don't have any guest send me dentist bills...

Re: Jordan Almonds = Broken Teeth

I wrapped my favors the other night. I have 5 wrapped on top which means something traditionally. Health, wealth, happiness, fertility..something like that.

My friends were eating them & I was getting scared hearing them crunch. YIKES!!

Re: Jordan Almonds = Broken Teeth

That's insane! I love those things but yeah, I definitely felt like I was going to lose a tooth or two at times.
I also started sucking on them instead, but once in a while.... you just gotta bite in
Hope the boss wasn't too ticked off lol

Ouch! Sorry this happened to you! I tried biting into them once and gave up and just figured they were traditional and non-edible because they were so hard to bite into!

Re: Jordan Almonds = Broken Teeth

My first memory of these things is my parents (non-American non-Italian) brought them home from a wedding, and told me they were 'some kind of marbles decoration'

Just like marbles, you need pretty good teeth to eat them for sure. See your dentists ladies, don't neglect your teeth

I thought they were non-edible, too, although I never tried to bite one. When I was little I just thought they were painted almonds and just for decoration. When I was older I just assumed that they were decorative candy that could have been sitting around for who knows how long. My mother probably told me when I was younger not to eat it them in order to save our teeth and it probably stuck with me all these years. I'm sorry this happened to you, tooth problems are the worst!
