Permanent French manicure...

Can someone please explain exactly what this is? Can this be done to extend nails, or only on the length you have?
How long does it last? Do you maintain it indefinitely, or do you remove it afer a while?
Is there any downside to having this done?
About how much does it cost?
I'm sorry for all the questions. A lady I sometimes see at the gym always has such beautiful nails and this is what she said she has.
Thanks.

Re: Permanent French manicure...

It is like tips. But the almost paint the bottomside of the nail white. You need to get fill ins every 2 weeks and then I think once a month get what is called a back fill. Where the fill in the white. They look beautiful and the paint doesnt chip. If you paint over them with another color when you take off the polish it will still look like u have a french manicure.

Re: Permanent French manicure...

I got it for the wedding, and I am so glad I did. I did not have to worry about it peeling the day of the wedding. I get mine filled every 6 weeks for the white and the other part is a regular fill every 2 weeks. I pay 25.00 for a reg fill, and 35.00 for a double fill. When I first got it on, the initial cost was 45.00. I think some places are more some are less. I love where I go, if u want to know where FM mail me.

Re: Permanent French manicure...

I think I am going to get them for the wedding. They last a very long time without chipping. My friend got it done and they extended her nail first, but you can do it on your own nail. The paint the tip with powder and it is permantely white.

Re: Permanent French manicure...

it is the same as getting silk wraps/gel/glue manicure...i've gotten them done if different ways but i believe the best way is when the salon has both the clear and the white powder that they use for the nails...this makes the white part of the french manicure last as long as you have them on without chipping (and for anyone who has ever done french manicure it is pretty the first few days but once they start chipping off at the corner they lose their beauty)...you can get an extension if you put on silk wrapping, this will just be an additional item and most nail salons charge you extra for this...

i love permanent french manicure, unfortunately i moved and my new salon does not do this...but for the wedding, i will definitely go back to my old salon and get this done

Re: Permanent French manicure...

Does this ruin your nails underneath though? I have pretty nice nails but I this sounds like a good idea because I have been thinking of how bad my nails are going to look on the honeymoon! But I wouldn't want to do this if it ruins your nails underneath? Can it come off easily?

Re: Permanent French manicure...

I have mine done this way all the time. My nail lady puts the white acrilick (spelling) on the tips of my own nails, then goes over the entire nail with either a soft pink or clear. Depends on what I want.
I go for regular fill in 3-4 weeks and the only time she redoes the white is when she files my nails down to where the white is getting to short.

I like this done because when I get tired of seeing the french, I can polish over and when Iget tired of the color, I have the french.

I'm so sure its a bit more pricey on Long Island, but here in upstate NY, I only pay $20.

If you would like, I can send you a pic of my nails after I get them done on the 14th?

Hope this helped with your decision making!

Re: Permanent French manicure...

I'm confused. Is this the French Tips? Because they end up growing off. Or is this something different?

Re: Permanent French manicure...

LImom, I know its hard with non english speaking vendors, however, if you look through some magazines, expecailly glamor types, I'm sure you can find a picture of what you exactly want. This way, you can show them the picture.

In order for the french to stay on, they must know to do the nail tips in the white acrilyic, not polish. And once you have it done, you'll love it!
With one week to go, much contragulations to you!

Re: Permanent French manicure...

I never heard of this, but it sounds great. Can they do only the white on white manicure with the permanent technique, or can they do the translucent pink and white as well?

Re: Permanent French manicure...

My nail tech does the chalk white acrylic on the tips, pink, beidge, frosty white (what ever my mood is at that time) over the entire nail for the fill in. then she puts a top coat.

It doesn't peel, chip, nothing. its clean looking, elegant and you don't have t do a thing to it.

if you would like for me to share a photo, FM me.

I don't know where on LI you can get it done but its worth a shot to make phone calls.
Just tell them you want a french manicuire done in JUST acrylics..

good luck

Re: Permanent French manicure...

It costs about 50 bucks and is well worth every single little penny!

I had it done for my wedding and let me tell you it was the best thing I could of done with my nails.

My nails looked great throughout the wedding, my entire honeymoon and even a week or so when I got back home. I loved it and would do it again

Re: Permanent French manicure...

I have Light Concept Nails. It is a gel product made in Germany (which is often used on children's teeth if they have dental problems.)

It is light-cured. It's pretty pricey, but you can go up to 4 weeks without a fill.

There phone number is 1-800-86NAILS

An operator can find salons in your area that do them.
