Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

This is so terrible now my completely OUTDOOR wedding is going to be ruined! As soon as I saw is was going to rain I ordered a larger tent, but now is going to be rainy with the HIGH 67!!!! It's 66 out right now and it is kinda chilly, but today is going up to 75!!!! My day is going to be rainy and freezing in my strapless dress with 80 miserable cold and wet guests in my backyard!! I am so freaking pissed and sad. Every other effing day in the next 10 days is sunny and in the 70s, but oh no not my wedding day, God forbid that day be nice. I'm just so depressed and I still have so much work to do for this wedding that is just ruined. I honestly don't even feel like cooking or decorating anymore, I mean who cares at this point It's really about the marriage anyway not the wedding. And my SIL is going to be secretly laughing on the inside while on the outside spouting 'I told you so' her and FMIL kept trying to convince me to do have the wedding in some church basement, but we wanted an outdoor wedding ( well WE did for a while but after his sister and mom keep pushing the hall he started to crack) but I said honey we want an out door wedding so lets do it, and the only kind of hall we could afford would look like a high school cafeteria. And now look everyone was right, and I am the stupid idiot that ruined my her own wedding with my stubbornness . I just want to give up I don't care anymore I just feel like wearing sweatpants and ordering freaking pizza for the stupid wedding who cares at this point!! I am so miserable I am going to need to wear a coat over my dress and use an umbrella!!!! I hate this!!!!

It could change!!!

forecasts said there was a 40% chance of rain on sunday for my friend's wedding---it turned out 80 degrees, sunny and humid!

try not to focus on the weather--i know its hard...but it could change. and i'm sure you will be on cloud 9 that day you won't care!

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

The weather can change. For my sister's wedding it was predicted thunderstorms with high winds and in the morning it was a little gray and by late morning the sun came out and it was gorgeous. Try lighting a candle to St. Jude and ask him to help you and to give you good weather. Don't give up hope.

I will say many prayers for you that the weather changes. No matter what, though, try to remember you're marrying the man you love; everything else will work itself out.

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

i understand that you are freaking out and getting discouraged - my eparty is sunday and is all outdoors under a tent and ive been stalking the weather too.......anything can change so the temps might go back up again......if it rains its no big deal - you already said you got the larger tent - maybe you can get the sides of the tent too - i dont know if you have that already but in case it rains alot you can always put the flaps down and nobody will get wet.......and light LOTS and LOTS of candles if you aren't already.....try going to the dollar store, or a craft store, and buying lots of votives - they will look beautiful and im sure if you get enough they might kick off some kind of heat - im worried about it being cold for my eparty too b/c im wearing a strapless dress BUT when i drink i always get HOT and when i dance i always SWEAT so i am sure it won't be that bad.....dont let your FSIL/inlaws get to you - who cares what they think - good food, good drinks people won't care thats its raining - have the best time that you can and you want to know what, i bet it will irk your FSIL/inlaws even more that you had an amazing time and pulled it off even though the weather didnt cooperate!! that will show them!!.....so please dont be sad

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

I know it won't help, but think of this - a wet knot can't be undone.

I got married last weekend at this time during the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto hitting LI. My rehearsal and the morning of my wedding it was pouring! I mean downpouring - no sun, all darkness, yuck!

Somehow, right before the ceremony, the sky opened up and sun came out. Miracles do happen.

Above all else - have a wonderful wedding day and don't worry about the things you can't control! It's the only way I made it through!

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

this might not make you feel better, but have you seen pictures of rainy wedding days? they come out soo nice.
also, as the other girls said, the weather still may change and second, who cares if it does? rememebr what the wedding is really about and don't think about if anyone else is having a good time. if the bride can make the best of everything, then the guests should to!!

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

I saw only a 40% chance of showers and only in the mid-morning. You really have to try to relax . Weather changes SO QUICKLY!!!!! Were you outside at all yesterday or near a window? Did you notice how quickly it went from this ominous black sky to a monsoon to then partly cloudy w/no more drops, not even drizzle?

You cannot worry about this now because it is beyond your control, just focus on other things and wait until Saturday and see what happens!

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

If you've got a bigger tent then the only worry is really the temp right?

Does your tent company also have those heaters like they have at outdoor restaurants? One of my favorite restaurants upstate has outside seating well into the fall because they have those heaters. They look like lamposts and do a really good job.

Someone above also mentioned getting sides for the tent. That sounds like a great idea. You can make it look and feel really cozy.

Congratulations on your wedding!

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

Don't worry about it - whatver the weather turns out to be you will love it because it is YOUR WEDDING DAY!

And you might be thankful that it is a little cooler out - I know I was SWEATING so much from dancing inside all night. It will probably keep you comfortable because you will running around all night.

Enjoy your day - no matter what!!!

That's a great idea. I love those heaters when they use them on restaurant patios. You can eat outside in the winter and you don't feel the cold weather. And also, the drop-down sides for the tent are a great idea as well. You can get them clear also so it doesn't kill the 'outside' feel. It will keep out the drizzle (if it does) and maintain the temperature and keep out the wind (if there is any). Definitely contact whoever you rented the tent from!

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

67 isn't that cold. In a wedding gown, you will NOT be freezing. I was soooooooooo freakin' hot the entire day.

Your guests will understand how to dress appropriately for the weather. They will not be miserable. They'll also be drinking, moving around, and dancing -- they will stay warm! Trust me, they'll be fine and so will you!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE try to cheer up. It really saddens me to see so many people freaking out over things that they can't control. I was there, too, and it wasn't worth my wasted engery! It's your wedding day - Yes, it's stressful, but it's supposed to be something you look forward to. So what if the weather isn't great - people will still have a good time whether it rains or is sunny, whether it's 67 or 95. It'll be a great day. Just start to focus on all the GOOD things about it - if you can't do that now, make a vow to yourself to do that the day of. You have the tent and you did everything possible to prepare if the weather isn't great. I'm sure it'll be a lovely day no matter the weather.

If you only focus on the negative, you may miss some of the wonderful things that will happen that day.

Everyone will be FIIIIIIINE no matter the weather... And it's still early enough that the weather could change... Heck, even the day before they're wrong at least 50% of the time.

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

Don't give up hope!! There's a REALLY REALLY good chance that the weathermen are WRONG! My brother's a meterologist and they're WRONG all the time!! They were calling for rain on my wedding up until that day, and I had my bro in my ear trying to 'prepare' me for the worst. Well the rain held out until we got in the limo to go to the hotel!

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

Awwww... I feel for you babe
I know its difficult because brides work so hard for their wedding day and want everything to be perfect. But, PLEASE, don't drive yourself crazy about something you can't change. This should be the happiest time of your life and you sound miserable!! Try to stay calm. You already have a larger tent that can fit all your guests. Rent some heat lamps in case its chilly. Other than that you can only hope for the best and keep planning to make your day the best that it can be.

Also, forget about FSIL and FMIL. Your wedding day should be about you and FH- period!! Don't let anyone else ruin your day.
Good luck!!

Re: Rainy AND cold on my wedding day!!!

First of all you are going to be sooo happy and look so beautiful that you will not notice or care about the weather.

All of your guests are just going to enjoy the fact that are going to witness the marriage of lovely happy couple. The weather will not even be an issue.

Secondly, weather forecasters have been known to be wrong . So don't fret. There is a 100% chance that you will have the outdoor wedding of your dreams.

Third... Check out these pics. You can always make the best of a rainy day.

Finally...here is a special sunshine dance for you
