Anyone use LI Sound DJ or Tommy's Tunes? And other generic DJ questions

If anyone has used either DJ, I was wondering if you could give me some input.

At Tommy's Tunes, I met with Tommy. I guess I'd use him as my MC. Would anyone recommend anyone else?

LI Sound, I met with Kevin. Has anyone used him for an MC or anyone else you'd recommend?

And how flexible are these guys with pricing? LI Sound quoted me at $2300 which includes DJ for cocktail hour and reception, zap shots with one plasma screen. He just added up the prices from the pre-printed sheet, no beak in that price. I'm wondering how flexible they are.

Tommy's Tunes basically said he'll give me the $2000 package for the package cost blow it, $1800. That package doesn't include any zap shots.

Also - How important is the zap shots?? Is it an easy way to save $600? Or is it totally worth the money?

Thanks in advance!!!

When I met with LI Sound (I met with Chris), he said to call him back if we were seriously interested and he'd see what he could do about pricing, give us a better deal. So I am sure if you want LI Sound and call and say that another DJ gave you a break on price, they will do the same. I haven't booked my DJ yet but it's between LI Sound and one other DJ for me.

I used Tommy's Tunes and Joey was our MC-he was great!!! He got the party going and kept it going and we recommend him and Tommy's Tunes all the time -they were a referral from one of my friends who used them both her kids' weddings. As far as the zap shots...this is one of my 'post-wedding regrets' that I didn't get them. IMO they are worth it unless you need to cut corners somewhere...they aren't necessary but if i had to do it all over again, I would have done them!

Re: Anyone use LI Sound DJ or Tommy's Tunes? And other generic DJ questions

i've been to two events where Tommy Tunes was the deejay. They were good. However, my sister just sent to a wedding and said Long Island Sound was phenomenal and she would def hire them if she had he wedding all over again. While at Giorgio's, the owner also mentioned them playing a wedding recently on a sunday night and they went into 2 hrs of overtime b/c everyone was having such a great time.
