Re: Bridal Shower Gift Ideas

At my friend's shower, her sisters got together and made her 'holiday' baskets...they were filled with things to decorate their home for holidays...

Christmas decorations, Halloween, Easter, an American flag, etc.

I have heard of seasons done...so a Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall basket.

It was really cute and really creative!! For anyone that owns a home, you know these things REALLY add up!! And it always make a house look more home-y when its decorated.

Re: Bridal Shower Gift Ideas

At my cousin's shower, her best friend got her a wine rack with all of these different wines in it. She read a poem out loud to her explaining what each wine is for. She had them wrapped in different color celophane so that she could refer to each bottle as the color. I'm not sure if she found the poem online or if she wrote it herself. It was a very cute idea. Each bottle was to mark a special occasion (their one year anniversary, their first baby, etc.)

Re: Bridal Shower Gift Ideas

At my friend bridal shower on of her BM gave her a 'Dirty Lingerie Line'--
A clothes line with cute & sexy lingerie cloths pinned to the line. Before we did presents the BM enlisted the help of another BM to hold the other end of the line when the bride-to-be opened the gift box (which was a lovely hat box). Oh, and instead of tissue paper, she used feathers, and had a feather boa in there too!! So freakin cute!!!

Re: Bridal Shower Gift Ideas

These are all such cute ideas. I actually went to my friends shower and some took an ironing board and made it into a person. She used funnels for the girls b**bs and attached all the other things to the body of the ironing board and put a robe over it. And spatchers and a whisk for the hands. It was VERY cute and I've DEF never seen that before!!! And to top it all off she had a picture of the brides head cut out and put on top so that it's supposed to be the bride!

Re: Bridal Shower Gift Ideas

For my shower my bridesmaids got me a laundry basket filled with all sorts of cleaning supplies and a cute poem for each one. One of the BMs read the poem out loud while another held up items one by one during the poem. I've seen this before a number of times and always think it's cute. The shower guests liked it, too. There are different versions of the poem with different supplies listed, but here is one example:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080405152534AAFaKoM

Another tradition my friends have is giving a 'forgiveness glass' at a bridal shower - the idea is that the bride and groom use it after arguments during their marriage. There are different versions for this as well. Here is one that is more religious: http://www.liweddings.com/chat/topic-503441-1.html
and here is one that isn't:

Lastly, I was just at my cousin's bridal shower last week and saw the 'bridal shower candle poem' for the first time. I absolutely loved it!!! I just Googled this and actually turned up an old LIW post here that includes the poem! I can't believe this has been around for so long and I've never seen it before!

I think any of these ideas is super cute, creative, unique, thoughtful, and sentimental. Good luck!

Yes i love this i have the poem....Sorry its long!

In Jessica's original version all of the bridesmaids read the opening verses together and then each one recited a verse that corresponded with one particular panty.
The presentation of this panty poem requires 8 pairs of panties:
• Bridal white for the first night
• Sexy lace panties for the honeymoon
• Red for Valentine's day
• Leopard print or purple for the 1st anniversary
• A pink pair AND a blue pair for first baby
• A sexy full cut pair for 25 years of marriage... and finally...
• A big giant pair of bloomers or granny panties
You could have a clothesline (or something similar set up) to hang each panty on after the reading of the corresponding verse, or you could just hold up each pair during the reading and then give them to the bride-to-be. What a fun gift... a gift that will be remembered for years to come. Everyone gets a real kick out of the presentation.

Bridal Shower Panty Poem
The bridesmaids have a secret to share
About our little bride
She is obsessed with underwear
And that we cannot hide
So for our little panty queen
We gathered up some twine
And working as a friendly team
We made a panty line.
Alternate verse if no clothesline available:
So for our special panty queen
We'll make her feel just fine
By working as a friendly team
To form a panty line.
(Bride's name) these undies are to last you
All throughout your life
And (groom's name) will be pleased to say
He has a sexy wife!
So listen up to hear about
Your lifelong panty plan
These underwear, we have no doubt
Will last your whole life span
The first are for your wedding day
Of course they are pure white
We know (groom's name) will shout, 'Hooray!'
When he sees you on that night
The next are for your honeymoon
They're sexy and all lace
We hope you'll leave your hotel room
'Cause (honeymoon destination)'s a gorgeous place!
On Valentine's you'll wear this pair
Before you hit the bed
Cuz Cupid's arrow in the air
Shoots tushies that are red
After a year has passed you'll face
Anniversary number one
With these you'll surely have a blast
'Cuz leopard's so much fun!
Purple or an alternate color or print could be chosen in place of leopard in the verse above
Then when the time is right for you
And don't be saying, 'Maybe'
You'll wear your little pink or blue
In honor of your baby
And when your years of wedding bliss
Become the big 2-5
Don't worry - you'll just slip this on
To keep the sparks alive
When finally you're old and gray
With these you can't go wrong
'Cuz sorry (Bride's name) but at that age
You just can't wear a thong

Re: Bridal Shower Gift Ideas

My cousin got a basket with all white things from one of her BM's. They got a wicker basket and filled it with white stuff she could use on her honeymoon and at home. There were Cute tops, white shoes, a hat, evening clutch, beach cover up, flip-flops, accessories and even some white nighties.

It was a really cute- she got to use everything in there.

Re: Bridal Shower Gift Ideas

I've done the Ironing Board Lady a few times b/c I think it is absolutely hysterical. I put a guest book together and took a polaroid pic of each guest with the Ironing Board Lady, and the guests wrote notes next to their pic.

I've also done the Household Poem, customized it a bit.

I've bought the bath towels from a registry and rolled them into a wedding cake, decorated it with fake flowers and a thread of pearls, etc. It was sooo nice.

My friend made the bride a gorgeous scrapbook of a bunch of events leading up to the wedding.

I created a cute advice sheet to the newlyweds on Power Point of Publisher and passed it around. It had a great pic of them on it w/the Caribbean as a background since they were married on a cruise ship.

My of my faves is when my friend was at my friend's shower. Her sister wrote a poem in regards to the honeymoon...bought them their luggage and packed it with new items for the trip... this lotion is for... and flip flops for that.... but it was really good, not cheasy at all. I wish I had a copy to share.
