Re: Calling St Killian brides

If you are talking about the St. Killian's in Farmingdale.... I would recommend talking with the new priest! I met him once during a funeral I directed there and he was GREAT! I think his name is Fr. Todd. He is very young, started there maybe in the beginning of the summer & he mentioned he would be stationed there for I believe the next five years.

Re: Calling St Killian brides

We have Deacon Lou ( I don't know his last name)

While we are on the subject of St. kilians...... Is anyone doing the unity candle? Do they have a stand there (we saw one after a cermony was done but it was a mass) or do you have to get one? Also how does that work...who lights what? I'm very confused!! Also how are you girls going to decorate the church?

Re: Calling St Killian brides

Also I just want you girls to know that it's spelled Kilian's with one L. When i went to look at invites a girl almost put two L's on her invites. I actually kept writing Kiligan's. I don't know where i got that from...I wrote it on all my contracts!

Re: Calling St Killian brides

I'm on a sunday at 3:30. Actually we just found out this year that the town has the columbus fair all that weekend in the parking lot right next to the church and they close main st @ 5:00. I was really upset for about a week and then I got over it.

Is deacon Barone the same person as deacon lou?

Re: Calling St Killian brides

I got married there. Fr. Gentleman came back for our wedding, we love him and he is awesome!

The Pastor is great but is very tradiational rule wise.

Fr. Gus is very hard to understand and gives the same homily (about how the church is made of bricks... yadda yadda and so will be your marriage)
Plus Fr. Gus rewrote our names in the book wierd and we never knew until our first band was annouced that we techincally weren't in the book because he used white out on the other bride didn't let it dry then put our name. Also, when my friend Gina-Marie got married during her vows he called her Marie.

We had a mass, early in the mass both mom were invited to light our candles, and then later on we both lite our candles. It was amazing.

For flowers I had two baskets up front no need for more st. kilians is an amazing church. I also had simple pew bows on the pews.

You have to think about seating though, because the front row doesn't have a kneeler or anything. For that we put parents in the second row and bridal party on the side next to the altar. Just word to the wise also if your the next bride don't put your pew bows up too early. We had a gaudy wedding occur after ours and they put these insane horrid bows and they got in some of our pictures.

Re: Calling St Killian brides

oh also, note I was kinda ****y about this, but looking back it is safer, you should not walk down the stairs with your train out, I understood why after the fact as I was holding it.

We purchased our own stands and got an amazing candle. We went to illuminations (or something like that) in Merrick.

This picture is dark, taken by moh boyfriend but it might show pew bows.. I dunno.

I'm in Florida and my proofs are in NY
