Can I play Ave Maria when I walk down the aisle???

I really love it...is it appropriate??

mind that I am not getting married in a Catholic church. I am Catholic but getting married in a Greek-Orthodox church...

not sure about the greek part but i am begging my FH to let me play that.

i used to sing ave maria as a solo in school and i've always imagined myself walking down the aisle.

i'm hoping......

if you love it- play it. Maria is probably one of the most popular Greek names....she is still a revered saint. I don't see the problem, as long as your church allows it.

Don't quote me, but I know in my mother's church which is Greek Orthodox, they have a very traditional ceremony and do not allow for any other music and alternatives to the ceremony.

You would honestly have to check with the church.

I know, they are very traditional, but I don't like that they do not play organs during the ceremony........my Greek Priest is pretty liberal so I am hoping that he allows me to play Ave Maria....(so I can have some Catholic tradition)

we are playing it during communion. I don't see why you can't walk into it.

Sorry to intrude on your board- but Its funny you should ask- I never thought about it before. But today I got a copy of a wedding program from my church so I can do my program, and this bride walked down the aisle to Ave Maria. So beautiful!

omg my aunt sings this at everyones wedding ceremony. i love it i havent asked her yet to sing it.
i cry when she does this she has the best voice.

im sure it is appropriate. and if you fh doesnt like it play it during the ceremony sometime.
