Did anyone wear or buy a TAFFETA wedding dress? UPDATED :) :) :)

I really love a dress that I tried on last week the only thing it's TAFFETA. I am I going to hate the day of my wedding???? Is the material going to look to wrinkled?

Ok so the dress is SILK TAFFETA and I love love love it. And it's mine my mom bought it over the weekend for me. Thank you all for you help and pics. I am soooo happy.

I wish I had a pic of the dress but the store took the tags out of course. so I don't even know who the designer is.

Re: Did anyone wear or buy a TAFFETA wedding dress?

Most like the dress was really wrinkled because it was a sample that was thrown around and shoved in a bag. I'm guessing that's not going to happen to your dress, lol.
I personally like taffetta and noticed that the BM dresses in taffetta are less wrinkled because they're not shoved in a bag. Its a great light fabric, I wouldnt worry about wrinkles.

I personally don't like taffetta because I don't like the way it photographs...looks so shiny and the plasticy

My dress is not taffeta, but my BM dresses are, and I love them! I actually like the look and feel of it much better than satin....my dress is satin, but with a lace overlay....

Re: Did anyone wear or buy a TAFFETA wedding dress?

My dress is silk taffeta - doesn't have a bad shine or glare, it's meant to look like silk. The texture isn't supposed to be perfectly smooth so I don't think wrinkling will be a huge issue.

Re: Did anyone wear or buy a TAFFETA wedding dress?

my BM dresses are tissue taffeta and i liked the fabric much better than satin -- plus it's much more lightweight. it feels like you're not wearing anything

My dress is raw silk so it's not as shimmery as taffeta but has a similar look

these are my BM dresses:

EDIT: someone on the knot sent me this pic right after it was taken out of the bag and before it was steamed. She took pix in her backyard for me so I could see what it looked like on, since I chose this dress in this color

Re: Did anyone wear or buy a TAFFETA wedding dress?

my dress is made of taffeta. My concern also was it being wrinkled, but i dont think it'll show that much if its white/ivory. many dresses look wrinkled on the back after being bustled though.

My dress was taffeta (they called it 'rhapsody taffeta'), but it wasn't white.

Link to my proofs so you can see my dress

I was actually just going to say the same thing. I am having a small wedding and I was looking for a dress that was kind of light-feeling, airy, and appropriate for a beachy wedding. For me, taffeta was perfect! My personal opinion is that it's a summery fabric though.

I agree... I think of it as more of a summery fabric, and satin as more of a wintery one. However, it doesn't mean it would look bad in the winter.
