nice hotels near flowerfields? (st james/port jeff area)
fh and I trying to find a nice place to stay for our wedding night... I know there are some big chain type places in that area that flowerfields recommends, but it would be great to stay someplace a little more personal and romantic than a hilton... although we're not ruling that out either! I'd like to stay within 15-20 mintues of Flowerfields, in St. James, if possible. Any suggestions?also, my mom suggested Danforth's in Port Jeff. Thoughts on that, anyone? I've never been there.

Danfords is beautiful!! There is also a bed and breakfast in pt jeff that is nice, I cannot remember the name tho. There is the holiday Inn Express on the LIE service road with a nice suite w/ jacuzzi tub. But if you are looking for close and romantic, your mom is right on the money!!ETA: the 3 village Inn is also very nce, we are having our RD there, I have never been in their rooms, but I hear good things, they would be 5 minutes from flowerfields!

thank you! I called Danfords (had trouble finding it online, as I was spelling it wrong, but figured it out in the end) and booked their fancy 'fireplace suite'. I'd still like to shop around though, if there is anything else, as it's darn expensive! I called 3 village inn as well, but they're all booked for that night.
lesson to all you ladies - this seemed small and insignificant to me, so I didn't rush on it, and now lots of places are booked up, and it's still almost 3 months away! Don't wait on things like hotel reservations!
