Hamptons Houses - Rented for Weddings Has anyone done that???
HI I officially one of those people whose families had a communication breakdown so we are looking at Plan B. I was thinking of renting a house somewhere out east and doing it all myself. I did that with my family for my sister's wedding and it was great.Does anyone know of anyone I can contact? it doesn't have to be on the beach just something that is kind of interesting and and pretty with a pool preferably.
Please let me know if anyone has ideas!!
Thanks sooo much!!!

Bumping again. Can anyone help?I think this sounds like a fabulous idea! Maybe try real estate agents out east? A local wedding mag?

Re: Hamptons Houses - Rented for Weddings Has anyone done that???
Thanks so much girlsI have a listing on craigslist and received a few emails but one guy has 4 houses and wants $18,000 - that's too much $4 for my budget!!
We will see it can be any kind of interesting site - just thought would save me alot of headaches so we don't have to have everyone seated in a room together - if I told you the story you wouldn't believe it so I am sitting here wondering if I will ever have the kind of wedding I'd like!!!
UGHHH!!!!!!!!!

My FSIL did it, she got married in 2002. It was beautiful. Unfortunately, I can't remember any of the details. She is a member of this board though. I can't remember her name, it's Tracyann** something. I'll find out and get you gals some more info. In the meantime, try to search for posts from tracyann and see what comes up.She also Honeymooned at Tahiti/Bora Bora which everyone is so fond of. You may find that info too.

initially we were thinking of doing that and holding the reception at a vineyard. financially and logistically it quickly became a nightmare so we elected to deep six the idea...

Hi-I am not sure exactly what you are looking for, but my friends brother got married @ the Crows Nest in Montauk. I saw the pics, they were beautiful! The Crows Nest put out those big white tents and a dance floor. They are also supposedly reasonable. The Crows Nest also owns a hotel or Inn and the wedding guests get priority on booking rooms. HTH

Re: Hamptons Houses - Rented for Weddings Has anyone done that???
i had originally thought of that idea.. have you looked into gansett green in amangesseti absolutely loved the place but worried that there was a potential to overspend.
doing your own planning can be dificult things that you may not think of is... insurance for your guest and staff, working parking, who orangizes the 'details'
just things to think of...
good luck

Re: Hamptons Houses - Rented for Weddings Has anyone done that???
Thanks alot guys - we did something similar for my sisters wedding and I can look into the same place in St. James, but I wanted my own place...If I told you this was the worse week of my life it would be an understatement.I will check into all the details - for the sake of a few thousand, I may still have it at The Metropolitan, but for now I am so fuming over what happened, I want to crawl into a hole.
I have a meeting with Corrine's Catering this week and she has some interesting locales to show me & she takes care of servers, tables & rentals....
