How much does the average bridal shower cost?
Just wondering exactly how much a shower costs? I'm sure it depends on a few different factors, but let's say it would be for 20 people in a restaurant. Thanks!

i couldn't imagine more than $500! and then the bachelorette on top of it...it can get expensive so quickly. i threw a jack and jill and with alcohol it was about $750...but at my shower there was no alcohol so it kept down the price.

Figure $40 a head for meal, drinks, decorations and favors. $40 x 20 = $800.20 seems small for a restaurant shower. You may run into guaranteed minimums, which would raise the cost.

Not including favors, gifts or centerpieces that we bought for my sister's shower, for 55 women, it's costing after tax and gratuity about 2000. So it would be a lot less, depending on the site, for 20 people. We paid 27 a head.

If you're trying to keep costs down, there are lots of fun ways of doing it. I threw a bridal shower at Ravi Yoga and Spa on 25th St. and it was $400 for a private yoga session and a steam bath. I was able to invite up to 25 people. Food wasn't provided, but I had a light snack catered by a local gourmet store--think cheeses, crudite, and fresh fruit. It was a huge hit. After the yoga class, the room was available for as long as we wanted to while the bride-to-be opened presents and stuff.
Total cost was about $450.
