wording... 5:30 pm... half past five or five-thirty?

I'm doing my wedding invites. My ceremony is at 5:30 pm so how do i word that?

Either:
half past five in the evening
or
five-thirty in the evening


Also if i put my response date for a month prior to my wedding date... is that good or too long?

My reply date is going to be Aug. 1st for a Sept. 16 wedding. It's probably too early but I don't care. I want to know ASAP!!
