Anyone do the 'post wedding' chop? (Hair cut)
I've let my hair grow out for two years after having SHORT hair for the past 10. It is driving me nuts! Its now 4 inches past my shoulders. My hair is really thick and heavy and seems so dry and frizzy no matter what I used on it. (Currently using Neutagena's Intense Moisture which is OK)
The thing is I don't really want to go really short again. I still want to be able to pull it up in a ponytail if it gets hot.
Any ideas or pics would be appreciated!

Re: Anyone do the 'post wedding' chop? (Hair cut)
I am the same way. I had my hair short for many years and let it grow for the wedding. It is not a long as yours but I do like to be able to put it in a poneytail....I am going for a hair cut today...no clue what I am going to do.

I chopped my hair off 3 weeks after returning from our honeymoon though I will say I have since let it grow back out.

I like my hair longer....so does DH...I was threatened with divorce should I ever do the extremely short, pixie-like (which I would never do because I would NEVER look good in it!)

Re: Anyone do the 'post wedding' chop? (Hair cut)
3 days after returning for our honeymoon I chopped about 11 inches off of my hair. I had let it grow out for about 2-3 years. I like it at first but then I got annoyed that I coul not put it in pony tails or braids anymore so I have let it grow up to a little past my shoulders now and I think I am going to keep letting it grow. I miss the fun and creative ways I used to be able to do my hair.

This sounds like me, not 11' but I chopped. I am in the growing out stage now also

Re: Anyone do the 'post wedding' chop? (Hair cut)
I used to be notorious for walking into the salon with my hair half way down my back and saying chop it all off!! My thought was, it's just hair it'll grow back.I let it grow out for the wedding and it just got gross afterwards, so I just got it cut when I was home for Easter. But, I couldn't get anything that was hard to maintain because I don't have a hair-dresser in London yet!!
Mines layered with the shortest pieces framing my face and the longest falling just past my shoulders. I had said to my hair dresser Let's go back to the Jennifer Anniston Friend's thing again. She said What Season?
It actually came out closest to season 1, but not as layered. Maybe the layers would help take some weight out of your hair. Also, have you tried the Dove shampoo? I doesn't work on my hair because it's too thin, but I have a friend with really thick hair who loves it.

I tried Dove for a while but my hair seems to 'get used' to shampoos and conditioners really fast and they stop working as good as they first did. I have to keep switching brands all the time.Maybe I'll try some shorter layers and hopefully this will take some of the weight off my head.

Re: Anyone do the 'post wedding' chop? (Hair cut)
Hair Tail and Mane is an excellent conditoner for your hair. I used everything on my hair before I found this stuff, it is great. I figured if it works on a horse it will do well on humans. It is okay to use it on humans, they sell it in the drugstore with hair stuff. I highly recommend it. I am ion the process of trying to deceide how much I want to 'chop off' of my hair, it is thick , long and down to the middle of my back. I am due for a haircut soon, I was thinking maybe 3 inches or so. I would never get it cut to short, my DH would flip out as well as I would, I hate the way my hair looks short.

I didn't cut it off today but I did put lots of layers in. Hopefully it will be better now.

I had long hair all my life up until after we got married. I was startng to get tired of it right before we got hitched, but decided against the pre-marriage chop. Since then my hair cuts are gettin shorter and shorter!

Re: Anyone do the 'post wedding' chop? (Hair cut)
I couldn't bring myself to cut my hair off, it's been long for awhile. I prefer long hair to short hair on me. I always told myself that I wouldn't get that typical short haircut after I got married or had kids. The best shampoos in my opinion are Citre Shine or Pantene Smooth and Sleek and I love Pantene conditioners, they work the best on my long thick hair.
