I got stiffed by one couple... it was a guy that I worked with and his guest. But a few weeks after the wedding, he was laid off so I guess that's DONE! NovemberSue - you are very kind! I never sent him a thank you. Although it would be a good reminder to him! Doubt it!

I got stiffed by my FIL, not even a card and to boot he had us invite all these friends of his who said no after the response date, by then it was too late to invite people we would have preferred to.

Another one who got stiffed here!!!

One check bounced. And one couple, who canceled the day before the wedding, didn't send a card or a gift. She is my cousin for heaven's sake!!! She's notorious for doing stuff like that, too. I don't ever want to invite her to anything again! She said she'd come to my engagement party, and never showed up. She said she would come to the bridal shower, no show again. Then canceled the day before the wedding with no card or anything! Some people!!!!!

It's not even about the money. I'm not like that. It's the PRINCIPLE!!!!!

Sometimes I think it is just a mistake. At a wedding once, my uncle made a similar mistake. When the groom came over, my uncle handed him the Place Card rather than the envelope with the check. Obviously, when my uncle figured it out he sent them a check.

The first of our friends to get married got stiffed by one of there groomsmen who is FH close friend, Then same guy was in another friends wedding and he gave them a gift.After that same guy was in another wedding party and gave the couple an IOU in the card!!!.(never made good on that) So now we are having him in our wedding.........we wonder what we will get gift,nothing, or an IOU!!

We didn't get gifts from several people - Including my aunt and grandmother!

We also had two of DH's relatives (aunt/uncle and cousin) bounce checks. To me, that's even more lame than not giving a gift - I got charged for those!! I wouldn't have minded no gift - Just a card would have been suficient.

my cousin was coming alone. she called my mom and whined so i said fine i can squeeze a date in at your table no prob. she came by herself after all so i had to pay for her invisible date and then didnt even give me a card and she is a sucessful business owner!!!! i know it shouldnt bother me because you shouldnt expect gifts from people but she is my cousin a card would have been nice

wE GOT STIFFED TOO. dont get me started on that.
even after bringing it to their attention they claimed to have dropped in the card box. then wouldnt put a stop on the check.
then was suppose to mail another.
then the wife was to give me a card/gift at a baby shower, never did.
plus they responded 4 and only 3 showed. one daughter didnt come. they claimed to have left a message on the machine - not.

one other responded 3 and only 2 came. the hubby is notorious for not going to event so dont respond yes. and the gift barely covered the 2 that came.
uhhhhh
beside the money no card either that is so cruel.

they wont be getting a thank you card from me.

I got stiffed by 3 who attended (2 of them were in the bridal party

and the other claimed his date stole the card with the cash) and 2 more responded yes and didn't show up or send a gift. I also had 1 of my younger cousins give me a card with no gift, I completly understand, he lives on his own and has no extra money. I am just glad he came to the wedding.

I got stiffed by 3 couples and 3 singles....9 people in total....and it still pisses me off to this day. I did not and will not send them thank yous.

Me too...stiffed here also. This one coupe I could tell was a little ifffy so the day before the wedding I was still aloud to cancel... I called them and they said they will difinitely be there.....well needless to say no people, no card and no gift!

Oh and not to mention two close cousins also.....what's up with that?

we got stiffed by almost 15 people!

we are shocked, not even a card.. not sure why and 5 are from his wedding party including both his best men!!!. did they not believe they give a gift if they are inthe party? but some did and some didnt. there were a few noshows that said they were coming to the wedding and they didnt send anything, not even a phone call as to why they didnt come!
