Did he carry you over the threshold?

I just read something about the 'tradition' of the groom carrying his new bride over the treshold the first time they enter their home as husband and wife. I realized we didn't do that, even though I have heard of it before, it never even ocurred to me. Did any of you do it?

Yup. At both the hotel on the night of the wedding and also when we returned home the next night before the honeymoon.

Yes! Into our apartment after our honeymoon and then again a year later when we bought our house!

Yup, I waited outside our house until DH was done bringing all our items from the wedding in the house...He then carried me over the threshold & up the stairs to our bedroom! Then he did it again on our HM!

we could barely even carry ourselves into the hotel that night. we were SOOOOOO exhausted!

nope - and he was mad that I didn't remind him......but I simply forgot! After flying back from hawaii - I just wanted to get in my house!

Yes...he did it the night of the wedding when we were coming into the hotel room.

And then after the honeymoon he did it again...I have a feelin' I was a bit heavier the second time around!

I loved it! I think he should do it for each new house! I never got the 'on the knee' thing so I deserved it!

He wanted to when we returned to our house in VA but was too beat from the drive from LI!

ETA: I totally forgot about it until his mom asked us and then he told me the above.

We forgot to do it when we got to the bridal suite the night of the wedding, and coming back from the honeymoon it wouldn't have worked because our apartment was at the top of the stairs - we would've toppled down the steps!!!!

I vaguely remember him doing this when we got back to our house in MD (the day before we left for our HM). I guess it wasn't the most memorable part of that week!

Yes, he did it 2x. First, on our wedding night into our hotel room. Then again when we got home after our HM!!

He was going to do it when we got to Hawaii but I wasn't paying attention after the long flight and just walked in!!

DH carried me over the threshold at home. I didn't want him to because we live on the second floor and the stairs lead right up to the door, but he was adamant about it.
