I'm in the minority. I would take the high road. I would go if I could and give a gift that I would normally give. If we couldn't go, then I would send a card and check as well.

The main reason I say this is that -will there be a good outcome? Will they say oh, sorry I forgot to give you a check..here let me get my check-book out..embarrasing already...why add to it.

Have you decided whether or not you will attend? I am not sure what I would do. I think I would just decline and not send a gift because I would feel way to guilty for going and not giving what I usually do.
