I used to have the Jeep Cherokee, while I loved it as far as size and all that, the car ended up giving me ALOT of problems. In the end i just got rid of it bc I couldnt take it anymore. At first it was great but then after a few short years the problems wouldn't stop. THe last summer I had it, i probably fixed it at least 5-6x until i said i cant keep putting money into it. ALOT of other people I know had the same problems too with theirs after a short period of time, infact just about everybody i know who had theres for a few years said it gave them lots of problems.

I hope the Jeep Liberty is made better, if so that would be good. Alot of problems I had were bc of how it was made. The thing the belt was on was put on a bit crooked, there was a time i changed my belt every month and meanwhile a belt only gets changed around every 10,000 miles so shouldn't happen. And that was just one problem.

The Acura MDX is great, but just know that with Acura the parts are alot harder to get. WHen something goes wrong, you usually have to wait a while to get one of the parts and the parts on an Acura are more expensive than most others.

That's interesting...My father has had his Grand Cherokee since 1996, and it's still ticking...Have had some problems, but I don't think anything out of the ordinary...I'm hoping my new one falls into the new and improved category!

Not sure if they are 4-wheel drive vehicles, but I like the Honda CRV, the Infiniti truck and the Acura MDX. The Jeep Compass is cute too. I want something small, but that has good pep to it. I need a huge trunk so that I can shop at BJ's and not have to worry about fitting things in! lol

You are funny...the BJ's trip is exactly why I love my SUV...I have the Infiniti FX45...and I love it, except that now that the warranty is up and extended warranty is almost up...It's an expensive car to maintain....(tires, brakes, etc....)....So I'm looking to sell it or trade it in soon.

Me too....I sat in a Murano the other day to just check it out and I really like it. You can't go wrong with a Japanese made car.

I was going to suggest checking out consumer reports for car ratings. You want something fun but worth the money. Just because a car isn't rated well doesn't mean it won't preform. But the reverse is true. You can have a lot of headaches with a well rated car. But I've always used CR when I went car shopping and have always been happy with a purchase.

I just got a cheeroke, I love it - except its honestly horrible on gas and its a 6 cylinder. Its in fwd permanently so its a gas guzzler.

Good to know....I like that car, but am leaning towards either a Honda CRV or a Nissan Murano....not sure which one yet. I really wanted to get a car NOW because the prices are the lowest they've ever been and probably will ever be, but DH thinks I'm nuts that I want a new car since mine has just about 20,000 miles on it LOL

LOVE our chevy equinox :) it's awd & is such a smooth ride. kind of a mini-suv..but very roomy & we always get compliments on how good it rides..we've had barely any problems whatsoever..love it!

the price is not that bad, & did i mention its GREAT on gas too??
