So we've (okay, okay..I'VE) been wanting to do after-wedding portraits (a 'day-after' session), for our 1 yr anniv. Just thought it would be fun. We are in LOVE w/ our wedding-day pics, but due to the time constraints, my mobility issues/energy level, we weren't really able to set up all of the types of portraits of us that we'd love to have. I'm thinking that if we aren't as limited with time and I can save up my energy for just this session that day, we can get some more great photos! There is an AMAZING photog here in the Phili area we're going to book very soon (if I don't come to my senses and realize I'm ridiculous for wanting to do this right now, lol).

I just wanted to get some feedback on dress ideas. I really don't want to wear my dress again, for several reasons (its kinda heavy, id like to try a different look, don't think ill fit in it and don't wanna try!!!, etc). I think I want to go with a beachy/destination-wedding-type-of-dress. DH will be wearing his tan suit. We want a laidback, more casual feel. The photog mentioned wanting to do a rustic, natural style session.

First, does anyone have suggestions for what stores/websites I should look at for dresses like this? (def not looking for another expensive wedding dress, this is more for fun, just light beachy dress).

Second, what do you girls think of these dresses I came across?

long silk dress- not sure this one would be too kind to my curves- i've gained like 10 lbs since wedding

I also suggest looking at Bridesmaid dresses most of them come in White

I love this one. you would look amazing in it. Did you ck Target they have wedding dresses there too.

i feel kinda bad. i can tell DH would be up for it but def thinks we should spend our money in another area, as opposed to this.

i LOVE our pics. We just really wanted some more varied and fun portraits of us, but didn't have time and stuff. Am I being silly?
..I think I am. But part of me reallllly wants to go for it!!!!!

You know I LOVE Your weddinfgportraits and all the details. I think they ewre on point and if ours had come out that well we porbably would not have gone the Day After route.....

BUT if you can afford it and consider it a priority, then defiently do them so you dont have regrets later.

What about doing portraits when you're pregnant/or have a new baby? I know you guys mentioned sooner than later and some photographers do deals; like they will give you one price for belly pics and include another session for new baby/family portraits.

The Boston photographer who joined our shoot gives free belly/famiyl sessions to her brides.

i hear you. part of me realllly wants to do this. im like just about sold, but DH isn't and i don't want it to be my decision, ya know. its just that the photog is fantastic. the price isn't bad. id LOVE to have more portraits of us. but i can feel that im being a little ridiculous bc we like the pics we do have. i dunnooooo.

i've seen other great dresses while hunting for informal dresses for my brother's fiance... there so many great dresses out there.

as for being torn about doing the pics, i say go for it. i feel the same way, and almost like people will think i'm silly or vein for wanting to have more pics of DH and I, and that it's a waste of $, especially when you have actual wedding pics that you love. but who cares, it'll be nice to have those photos years down the road to look back on, you'll cherish them forever, just as much as your wedding pics. thx for the input!! thats exactly how i feel about it! sure, the money could go to something else. but we really got a good deal for such an awesome photog and i think we'd have a fun time AND have nice pics to look back on! like i said, just feel bad that, altho DH's not 'against' it at all, he isn't completely FOR it either. we'll see. i feel like im going back and forth alot but the more i peak at her blog, the more im convinced, haha! she's so sweet and has great ideas!

i know. i died over those pics!!!! SO stinkin cute!! DH said the one with his hands in the air was creepy. wth?! he's silly.

if anyone else wants the blog, ill FM it. its not a secret, i just didn't want to post it on the forums yet since we're still trying to decide whether to do it or not, and i just wanted to be able to post about the whole thing here freely without the photog reading anything (which i know is a slim chance and im being silly). lol

yea, she has great style.

i know, i love belly shots. i want to do the same thing. she has some pretty ones on her site actually. i forget what i found it under, i think her site, not blog and under portraits in the galleries.
