Re: Wedding no-shows?
Hmmm essentially I only had about 3 - my friend's husband, an uncle that was sick and SIL's date (saw THAT one coming a mile away!
). There was a couple we found out about a week or two ago that couldn't come after all. Didn't really effect us, especially since we made our minimum exactly!

Re: Wedding no-shows?
we had 9 no-show, but it was OK, because we were over by 9 people anyway.one of the 9 that didn't show was a friend of dh, he called us the week before the wedding to say that they would be there, and still didn't show up.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
5 no shows. 2 had a legitmate reason- there was a huge storm the weekend of our wedding and their house was flooding. The rest, don't get me started. It still makes me angry.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
We had 4 last-minute cancellations:-My co-workers told me the Thursday before the wedding that they had to go to PA for a christening. They didn't know that in advance? No card, no gift.
-DH's friend who is a NYC cop had to work overtime due to fleet week. No card, no gift.
-My friend's wife couldn't come b/c they 'couldn't afford the trip.' Yeah, he drove from SC and I'm sure they could have split the cost on the hotel.
No card, no gift.And 4 complete no-shows:
-My cousin's husband who was 'too busy' to come
At least she gave us a card/gift from both of them.-DH's friend from college who didn't RSVP until the last minute, then when DH called him he promised that he would be there (and his roommate, another of DH's friends, was coming). That night he wasn't there and left the BM a message that he 'had to stay late at work.' Um, we had a Saturday night wedding. Who works on Saturday nights??? He never called or emailed DH, no card, nothing. DH and his BM aren't speaking to him anymore.

The saddest one:
-I noticed our friend and her girlfriend weren't there, and the next morning we had an email from them. Their dog got really sick the day before so they'd spent the entire day at the emergency animal hospital. It turned out their pup had cancer and had to be put to sleep a few weeks later.
They not only sent the message, they also sent a gift, have apologized profusely, and we're having lunch next week to look at the wedding album. This broke my heart, especially since I love pups so much! But all the others make me want to

Re: Wedding no-shows?
I had one, two, three, four oh hell I think there were 10 that missed out on the best wedding ever. What pisses me of is not even the no card- no gift it is the fact that the one couple acts like nothing ever happend.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
we had 2one was stuck in an airport becuase of a storm (totally understandable)
The OTHER....
my cousin... I sent his family an invitation, they never RSVP'ed. (Around this time, their daugheter had her first communion, and I sent a card and gift, with no thank you ever sent in reply.)I had to email and ask if they were coming 2 weeks before the wedding. Instead of everyone coming, only he would come, because his wife didn't want to take the kids out of school (I could swear they were implying we should schedule our wedding around the school calendar
) Fine, so only one of 5 people showing up.... and notified of that a couple weeks before the wedding...
the day before the wedding, he canceled via email, claiming his wife got a bad back, and couldn't be without him, becuase of the kids. I only read it after the fact. I would have even let that slide...... EXCEPT they never sent either a shower or wedding card / gift
Not sure how I'll treat them at christmas..... I don't like to make a fuss, but that whole wedding / shower thing was SUPER rude.
I also want to add that we've never argued, so this wedding cold shoulder was rather unexpected....

Re: Wedding no-shows?
I had about three in total - one of which we knew about, one of which his sister went to the hospital on an emergency, and the other one was a total no call, no show.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
All of my cousins put down a guest and of course they all showed up alone. I hate that.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
I probably had about 12 and these are all people I fought with DH and my dad about not to invite and they insisted. Because daddy help pay for wedding I could not tell him no and DH I couldn't also. But was so pissed that these jerks did not show up and to this day never even called to apologize. And the least you could do is send a damn gift idoits. Why respond is what I want to know. I should have none some of them responded a month after the due date. Another couple did not return my dad's phone call when he was checking to see if they were not coming. He said if they were not coming they would have called back. I was like no if they were coming they would have called back but he fought me on it an guess what they did not show up.DH had two best men. One of them left in the middle of everything with his date and did not even eat. Wasted my money What IDIOTs.
I wish I could get my revenge.
Okay done venting
