I think its a great idea
most of my entree recipes are taken from somewhere else
but i have AMAZING italian dessert recipes from my family so I will definitely share those.
You can use recipes from somewhere else. Just give credit and then indicate if you made any adaptions. My carbanora recipe that taryn and helen liked was RR originally but I changed it so much its MINE nowI just credit her for the original recipe.
most of recipes are from somewhere else.... but a lot of them are from old magazines, so i might not always have the proper credits for them! other than magazines, they're almost all from foodnetwork!![]()
Well you can always say you got it from foodnetwork or from the magazine if you remember. None of us are making money from this so it shouldnt be a problem (I hope!)

Side dish ideas are great too! I love when they put in suggestions for recipes..
we can also have a side dish section too
Hayley I am naming you my official cronie one this -grins- You're the cook, I am just the art and putting it together. I want it to look liek a real cookbook and be easy to navigate.
Like I LOVE RR but she doesn't usually say what to serve with her main entrees so it would be nice if we could have a side dish section and then under the recipe, put the siggested side dishes and the page they're on.
Like we usually serve our honey salmon with my balsamic vinegar and cheese asparagus. So i would indicate under the salmon that it coudl be served with that and the page number.
umm do you have that asparagus recipe online? LOL i am making that orange chicken tonight ( it was on the chicken broth can ) with white rice but i think asparagus would go GREAT!!!!!!!

This is going to be fun.DH is my taste tester, so I'll use the recipies that he really likes.
I don't really use measurements, just a pinch here and an eyeball there, so I;l have to be a bit more specific.

Oh yea I do. Let me find you the link Tilde. Its sooo good. My brother and my dad always come back for seconds and they usually belong to the 'I don't eat stinking vegetables' train of thought.

Exactly! I have made it in the toaster too. You can make it ina grill pan too but the balsamic vinegar gets sticky. I'd put a piece of aluminum foil down on the baking sheet to protect it.

Well we will be collecting recipes over time so if you make anything you like over the next few weeks, just send it. I am thinking that between getting the recipes and pictures, then organizing, it will be be at least a month before the book is finished. Probably longer. sos end away!

OOO Tara that is a GREAT idea! I know I like FAST during the week also. I have a few that I love that are reall quick and easy.
Hmm maybe we can have a section too of 'must have Ingredients'
You know, the ttype of stuff we should always have in our kitchens for quick easy meals like diced tomatoes (a must have in my kitchen) fresh produce, certain herbs etc.

Yes, and we can even do for the ingredients... 'Shopping list' and 'Basics'
for example...
shopping list:
asparagus
basics:
extra virgin olive oil
sea salt
balsamic vinegar
or whatever .... unless that's too much work!

Awesome!
When I make the 'official' thread for recipes, just start submitting whatever recipes you have according to the format guidelines. I will be runnign them all through MS word to make them look the same before we put them into the book.
We need pictures too if you have them. Like when you make one of your creations, just grab the camera and snap a pic. When I worked at the bookstore years ago I found books with full color photos always sold better than oens without pics.
