I can't believe I am finally writing my wedding review!!


I will start by saying thank you to LIWeddings- you girls (and guys) have been so helpful with planning. You have been so supportive throughout my tumultuous wedding planning.


For those who don’t know, I was one of the unfortunate WaterView Club brides who Paul Burnup screwed over a few months before my wedding. I had to change my date, my venue, and my photographer a few months before my wedding. To make matters worse, Paul Burnup has still refused to return the deposits that all of his brides already paid.


All that aside, my wedding was perfect. The weather was amazing, Crescent Beach Club (especially Matt!) were a dream come true, Sassy Glitter took care of details I didn’t even think of before they even became an issue, and my husband and I are happier than we could have ever imagined.


I’ll start by just reviewing a few of my vendors, but I'll review more later on, and I'll add some pics, too!


Shower: Westbury Manor: A+
They really do deserve their reputation. Everything was great- from the food to the staff. Everyone was VERY friendly and easy to get a hold of. They are all very professional. I got many complements on the food, and for those who are worried about it- the cake was great! The pictures all came out wonderful because their grounds are so pretty!


Tuxedos: S&S Tuxedos: A+
They were extremely accommodating, even for our out-of-town groomsmen. All the tuxes looked great. Prices were extremely reasonable. They even provided an extra shirt and tux for my grandpa to wear so that he could match the groomsmen. I would definitely recommend this place!

Dress: Charisol bridal: A+
The owner of the store designed my dress and then stopped designing, so my review won't be too helpful I guess, but I loved the dress and they have a great selection!

Alterations: My Daughter's Wedding: A
They are absolute perfectionists! Very pricey, but they do incredibly work! I had about 8 fittings (no exaggeration), but it was so worth it. They did everything I wanted, and turned the dress into everything I had hoped for!

Reception: Crescent Beach Club: A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ etc
Matt Silver, the owner of Crescent Beach Club, was a godsend. He took me, my now-husband, and my parents, and he promised us that he would make our wedding perfect beyond our wildest dreams. Boy, did he deliver! I could write about 10 rave reviews on him alone. Everything a little girl dreams of regarding her future wedding was put in place by Matt and CBC. From upgrades (lobster, chocolate fountain), to special hotel deals (Viana), and the most amazing cake I could ever dream (Baked to Perfection), Matt made everything a reality without my even having to ask. He kept surprising me with all the tricks he had up his sleeve. The morning of my wedding, he sent me a text with a picture of the ceremony set up on the beach with a sweet message of how that would be me soon, and this was just a tiny example of the personalized attention he gave me throughout my planning. I would get frequent texts from him showing me pictures of other brides' cakes when I was trying to decide what cake to get, and every time I came to CBC he was there with a hug for every member of my family. Every promise he made, he delivered, and then some! On the day of the wedding, everything went without a hitch. Stacie, the banquet manager, took care of everything, and the day went so smoothly. The grounds were breathtaking. My guests are still telling me that they felt like they were on vacation to somewhere tropical. So many of my friends posted facebook pictures of themselves by the palm trees with the waves crashing on the sand in the background, each one receiving comments from their own friends asking where they were on vacation. We haven't seen our actual pictures yet, but even pictures that people took on their phones were stunning. There is no bad view from the Crescent Beach Club. And I have only described the outside! The cocktail hour has a beautiful room inside with wall-to-wall windows that showcase the beach. Weather permitting, the cocktail hour can also be outside. My husband and I often say that even if the Crescent Beach Club were not on the beach, the building would still be our favorite wedding venue. The reception room is spacious and stunning. There are lights draping from the ceiling, and a great stage for the DJ or band. Of course, there is a view of the Long Island Sound from the room. We had a s'mores bonfire afterparty on the beach after the reception, and it was the perfect end to a magical night. I will never in my life forget what Matt Silver and the staff at Crescent Beach Club did for me and my husband, both during planning and also during the most incredible day (and night) of our lives. I honestly could go on and on about CBC, but I'm not sure if there is a word limit, so I'll stop with just this statement to summarize: Please, please, do yourself a favor. Have your wedding (or any event) at Crescent Beach Club. It will be the best wedding decision you ever make other than choosing your significant other!

Day of Coordinator; Sassy Glitter Events: A+++++++++++++++++++++++(aaaamazing)
Kelly and Nicole are the most incredible coordinators (and people) we could have ever dreamt of! Every little thought we had, they made it a reality before we even said it aloud. They gave the term 'damage control' a new meaning (a backup rabbi(!), lip gloss touch ups at my every whim, a curling iron and the skills to use it, a steamer, a projection screen!). I can not imagine what it would have been having had a wedding without them by my side (literally), and I am so glad I didn't have to. They really are miracle workers, and we appreciated them every second of planning, and every second during our wedding day. They made us feel calm and collected, even when my makeup artist walked in an hour late. They had ideas up their sleeves that solved every problem before it even occurred. We are hoping to spread the word to all of our friends so that we can be with them for another event and watch the magic happen!

Limos: Camelot: A
Like everyone always says, Joe is great to work with. He's just an honest guy. As was promised, the limos were all on time (really early actually, but the drivers were VERY happy to wait as long as I needed). They were all in great condition and the drivers were really friendly and personable.

Flowers: Distinctive Floral: A
When my date changed and I had already signed a contract with, and chosen all of my flowers with, Distinctive Floral, I was very scared because they were already very booked on my new wedding date. Because she just rocks, Kelly actually hired more staff to work on the day of my wedding so that they could accommodate my date change! They did a fantastic job. The flowers were fresh and beautiful. The guests who stayed late at my wedding were all very excited to take home some of the centerpieces, because they were so beautiful! The chuppa looked awesome (especially with a beach background), and so did the bouquets and boutonnieres. Excellent all around!

DJ: DJ Unlimited: B
They were great in that they arrived early and played the songs we requested, but I wasn't allowed to meet with them before my wedding- only a phone conversation a week before. Also, the MC messed up pretty much all of the names of my bridesmaids as they were introduced into the reception. They also almost forgot to introduce my sister/brother in law, and Stacie from CBC had to run over and stop them before they accidentally skipped them and headed straight to us.

Hair: Roseanna Armador: A+
It's true that she is on the pricey side, but I feel she is worth it. She is a true talent. She comes very early and with an emergency kit. She did a fantastic job on me, my mom, and my sister. She was very accommodating and even comforted me when my makeup artist came verrry late. Our hair styles all looked wonderful, and each of us has very different hair (texture, length, etc). I would definitely recommend her!

Makeup: Oksana: B+
Everyone knows Oksana is a makeup genius. My wedding was no exception. She does a BEAUTIFUL job. However, she came VERY late to my wedding, and to my sister's wedding a few months before. She was extremely un-apologetic about it, too. Thanks to this, I didn't get the pictures I wanted of my mom and sister helping me get ready. Luckily, she did a really great job and our makeup look perfect. I would say definitely book her because she is a wonderful artist, but tell her to come like an hour earlier than you really need her.

Cake: Baked to Perfection: A++++
Chef Elinger is incredible!!! The tasting was so fun! He is a really fun guy to talk to, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious! He is a true talent- he is apparently very famous in the bakery world, and with good reason! He even teaches at his own baking/ice cream school! I showed him a picture of what I had in mind, and to say he 'copied' it would be an insult. He made it even more beautiful than what I envisioned! I got so many compliments on the look of it and the taste, even from professional bakers I had invited! I can't stop looking at pictures that people took of the cake now that it is over! There is no chance we'll be able to wait until our one year anniversary to eat the top tier!

I haven't received any of the pictures or the video yet, but they did come very highly recommended. They came on time, though... I'll add more when I get the everything back

Hotel: Viana Hotel: A+
This place was made for weddings! They provided a stand for my dress, complimentary rose petals and champagne, and a stand-up mirror to get ready. The room and the lobby were truly beautiful. I am hoping to stay there again on our one year anniversary!


Liberty Travel in Manhasset: Um, F
I have nothing good to say about this place. The lady I worked with was so unbelievably rude. She messed up over and over in the planning (she called us Mr. and Mr... she didn't tell the hotels it was our honeymoon, she spelled our names wrong in the booking..) She charged us for mistakes that she made. She was just.... awful. Luckily, we pretty much got to the hotels and fixed everything OURSELVES while we were there. I am pretty irate as you can see, so I will try not to write anything cruel here. Instead, if you are thinking of booking through Lib Travel in Manhasset, feel free to message me first.

Congratulations. I am glad your day was perfect although you had a few rough spots along the way.

BTW- I couldn't agree more with you regarding Liberty Travel. I went to the Oceanside office and then the woman moved to the Massapequa office. Very incompetent travel agents.
