MY 8/25 fox hollow wedding w/ review.... LONG

Hi Guys
I am back but unfortunately I have no phone service in our bedrooms so I cannot post pics till hopefully this weekend.... we are doing construction and they cut some phone lines
so only the kitchen works. I am at work now......
but I scanned them and they will come soon!

First off, my prayers were answered b/c the weather was gorgeous on sunday, I was nervous b/c all week every web site said thundershowers but it was a beautiful sunny day!!! everyone has told me the wedding was a beautiful wedding and the food was great. I had in the garden terrace room.

I had two bridal attendants at my side all day long, they took care of everything from my bustle to even getting the heel of my shoe fixed when it fell off!! talk about feeling like cinderella, one was the maitre de but they were both w/ me , practically the whole day.... I told my dad to give them each a 100.00 dollars....... we had so many posts on tipping, I suggest if someone goes above and beyone you should tip.......... we tipped them and I gave my photographer 100.00 at the end of the day b/c she also went above and beyond in my opinion.... I will post more about her in my vendor review........ I made the mistake of giving each make up lady 30.00 though...... b/c they showed up early and did a great job but at least ten people have no told me I should not have given them anything so go figure.

Photography/videography: Cassarinos studios

this is the one vendor I truly have NO complaints about. the videographer Ken was very professional and polite and showed up on time. My photographer, Laura G. was wonderful! She got everything on my list done and we showed up almost a half hr late and we attended thirty minutes of cocktail hr!! by the end of the day, I had hugged her goodbye twice and felt like she was a family member. For those of you using cassarinos who didnt pick a photographer yet I highly recommend her! She also asked me if I wanted any tables down which she didnt have to do, but I really only wanted one. She was so nice and did extra in my opinion.

Flowers: Simply Elegant in Glen Head. I have mixed feelings about recommending them now.... while the table pieces were gorgeous, I scanned a pic for you guys to see b/c someone took a pic w/ a disposable.... the room looked great w/ the centerpieces, they were raised and had white roses, lilys and white stock w/ shiny lemon leaf and dendro orchids, which I dont remember seeing in all of them, n ow that I think of it :)
I was less than thrilled to say the least.... w/ my personals..... first off...... we took pictures before hand, I told them to have the personals delivered by 9am... which they did but they left out two boutineers for the men, including my dads!!! when we took pics my dad and craigs dad and a groomsmen were alternating one and sharing
that was just ridiculous, the maitre de called them and they brought them over at 1100 w/ the centerpieces but it aggravated me to have to do this during pics, plus we stopped pics at 1050 b/c I had an 1130 ceremony, plus my MIL's corsage was less than perfect, had browning in her orchid and she said it died about an hr into the affair... plus my bouquet looked great but I noticed some brown on the edge of a few roses, I didnt let this stuff greatly upset me but I am sure you guys understand b/c we want everything to be perfect and pay so much for flowers!

DJ: Top Hat Entertainment: DJ Bob Loggia
I would recommend him, again most people told me he was great and the music I picked out was great, however there were must play things he forgot
for instance, at our final meeting I told him I wanted girls just want to have fun when I threw my bouquet, I saw him write it down and he played something else and he never played a last song... time of my life from dirty dancing, another thing I wrote down?? who knows but my bridesmaid noticed that one too, even they said oh yeah, he did just say good bye and never did that; he didnt give out all my giveaways only one box, we had two and that irked me and my MIL since she paid for them, unfortunately we didnt discover that one until I got my video

Tuxedos:LUMARS in valley stream, all I can say is STAY AWAY GIRLS!!!! nothing but problems w/ them
a lot of the tuxes were dirty, not filthy but had dirt on them, I was constantly brushing my dads shoulder. also-- good thing his dad had them but they gave my husband the wrong pants!! they switched his and his fathers, and he had to wear knickers LOL to my moms and his dad had to come over so he could change
what if his father didnt have the right pants? I would not recommend going there, also one girl is extremely rude there, remember I asked a poll on my dad wearing a different jacket b/c he didnt like two buttons? well, when craig picked up his stuff, the lady said something, like..... 'thank god he came alone this time.' when he asked if my dad picked up his tux, apparently she didnt like my moms comments on the two button, I thought that was rude

Favors: I bought silver frames from perfect wedding at scotto bros and put magnets from favor lady on the edge of each seating frame w/ our pic that said thanks for sharing in our special day

people loved the magnets
then craig had cigars passed out on trays after the cake was cut

Dress: and bridesmaid dresses were from Lestan, in Brooklyn. I didnt have any bad experiences w/ them but my MIL and one bridesmaid were treated a little rudely. the prices are good and the owners are sweethears, tammy and lucille.

MAKEUP: Cactus, of plainview, st. onge cosmetics, arrived early and everyone looked great, nancy did my make up, it lasted all day, everytime I asked laura, my photographer if I needed to fix anything, she said nope your fine and everyone kept telling me I looked like a princess...... Lisa, the owner did everyone else and did a great job too

My moms friend Justine did my hair but she just moved to PA so i cannot recommend her but she worked out of michael joseph, or joseph michael in hicksville

the GM at fox hollow, frank marino is really nice
so if you have a problem you should deal w/him :)
well, I have work to do
when the electrician fixes the phone, hopefully on friday, I will post the pics for you guys but they are from the disposable, I have to wait a while for my proofs
OH, one last thing, if you do table cameras like me, even though the camera and tent message say to press the flash, people dont read!!!! I had so many come out bad :( that would have been great pics, maybe you should have your dj announce that to your guests!! and if you wear escada, sexy graffiti, I did, it doesnt last very long so bring it w/ you :)

the officiant was Rabbi Michael Ehrlich and he is very sweet
everyone enjoyed his story during the ceremony and for limos
We used Royalty
they were excellent, showed up early as they always do and both drivers were so nice and waited till the pix were done w/ the 29 Rolls and he waited a while
I didnt forget about them b/c they were bad just b/c I was rushing at work :)
they were also so nice at royalty that instead of picking us up after the reception, the driver said we could have a limo to go to the airport in stead the next day, which we took, it was a town car but it was nice of them to do that

OMG!! You're back. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I'm sorry about the mishaps (especially the DJ since you worked so hard on your list!!). But I'm glad you let things go and had a great time! Can't wait to see the pictures!!

Congratulations. Glad you had a wonderful day. I am also a Fox Hollow bride (April 03) so I was happy to hear everything there went well. Can't wait to see the pictures!

try to have it outdoors for cocktail hr
I was so happy the weather was so good that I had the ceremony and cocktail hr outside

We have the winter garden pavilion for cocktail hour and the Briar Fox for reception. I don't think we have the option of having the cocktail hour outside (I think that is only for those who book the Garden Terrace Room... oh well). You had your ceremony there? Do you have any pictures of that? When you post your pics, I would love to see how they set it up. I was told if the weather was nice enough, it would be outside (on a Friday night at 7). I saw you had Rabbi Erlich, we are looking for a rabbi now (we are interfaith, have our priest but no rabbi). Would you highly recommend him? Do you mind me asking how much he charged (are budget is quite tight lately)? Were you completely happy with Fox Hollow... any problems at all?
