How do brides plan a wedding without LIW? Seriously, please tell me. Over the past year and a half I have read so many great reviews, tips, recommendations, rants, and raves I can't even count lol From TWOTY 2011 to the 2011 Bridal Shower and Bachelorette party at Fuerza Bruta, LIW has let me meet so many girls who are going through the same thing and made the planning process so much fun. I am so glad I found LIW.




Our Engagement A+
DH and I got engaged at the Bronx zoo in the Butterfly House. I had absolutely no clue and was in complete and utter shock. It was one of the best days in my life. So much so that now we are making it a tradition to go back to visit every May 14! Here is the first pic ever of my e-ring and us there again this past year.



Our Engagement Party B+
We had our engagement party at Steve's Piccola Bussola in Syosset. We had a little over 100 guests so we took up the whole restaurant. The food there was amazing and everyone had a great time. The food was amazing and our funfetti and fondant cake from Black Forest Bakery in Lindenhurst was A++++. The only reason I give Steve's a B+ is because there was a discrepancy with the bar tab at the end of the night but they wound up doing the right thing.



My Shower A+
My mother and my sister threw me my beautiful shower at one of my favorite places, Novita in Garden City. They did such an amazing job with the candy centerpieces that matched our wedding colors, Bake by Melissa Cupcakes and brownie pop favors, and Skinny Girl Margarita as prizes. It was everything I love and more!! I am such a lucky girl!!





My Bachelorette Party A
Two of my best friends also got married in 2011 so we wound up doing a joint bachelorette party in Miami. It was amazing!! We stayed at the Gansevoort hotel and had a blast at the rooftop pool party. The only reason the trip is missing the + after the A is because when we first checked in they tried to give us a room on the 2nd floor. It took us an hour or so to straighten it out but it ended up being resolved. We hit up STK, Set, Liv at the Fountainebleau, Nikki Beach and a bunch of other fun places. I can't wait to go back!!




Save The Date's Magnetstreet.com: A
DH and I took some pictures at our reception hall, The Woodlands, for our Save The Date's. Magnetstreet.com was really easy to navigate and they shipped quickly and we great quality. We were really happy with how they came out and couldn't wait to send them out to our friends and family.


Day of Hoodie and Sweatpants Justjen.com: A
I knew I wanted a cozy hoodie and sweats to wear while I got ready the day of the wedding. I immediately went to justjen.com to order one as I love that they use American Apparel brand and Swarovski crystals for the writing. I don't have any great pics of the back but here are a couple from the front.



The Dress & Veil Pnina Tornai purchased at Kleinfeld: A+
I absolutely love, love, love, love, love, love, love my dress. I purchased the dress the first day I went dress shopping and it was the second dress I tried on. When you know, you know lol I brought my mom, my sister, and my dad with me to Kleindfeld and we had such a great experience there, it couldn't have gone any better. Lisa R. was my consultant and she was so helpful and sweet. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. I would like to add that I would have tacked on about 10 more +'s at the end of this score based off how happy I was with the final product. However, I wasn't really on the same page as the woman doing my alterations. The director of alterations eventually got involved and pretty much forced my alterations lady do what I told her to do and everything came out fine. I could have done without 4 fittings but in the end I was over the moon about my dress so I can't really complain. I also purchased my fingertip length veil with lace scallop edge from Kleinfeld. They added some bling to the lace edges for me as well and it came out beautiful.






Dress Hanger Etsy Seller DawnsCraftStore: A
Love my dress hanger! I initially went with another seller but then I was nervous about the sturdiness of an all wire hanger for the dress so I went with this dark wood one and it came out perfect and definitely did it's job the day of the wedding.


The Shoes Badgley Mischka: A
Loved my shoes! I was so excited that I found a pair of purple shoes that I could get away with with my dress that were also modern. Ordered them from endless.com and came in perfect condition. I lasted the whole night and day in them and I didn't even want to take them off at the end of the night. I can't wait to wear them again for our 1-year anniversary!


Earrings and Necklace Etsy Seller TZTUDIO: A
I wanted something that was blingy but also matched my dress to accent my whole look. I also didn't want to go too overboard with my accessories and take away from my dress. Since my dress was lace with touches of pearl and cyrstals so I thought these pieces were perfect.


Hair Comb Etsy Seller Olgabest: A
I fell in love with this hair comb the minute I laid eyes on it. I loved the shape of it as well as the sparkle of the pave crystals. I knew as soon as I started planning that I wanted to wear my hear down with a hair comb so this decision was so easy.


Bridesmaid & MOH Dresses Bill Levkoff 678 & 679, Bridal Reflections: A
I have been in weddings in the past where we purchased our dress from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and always had a great experience so it was a no-brainer to go there. I knew I wanted a dark purple right away so that helped me narrow it down when seeing the different colors of purple. I chose three dresses that I loved and then I let my girls pick which one they liked best and these are what we chose. The color and cut complimented all of my girls and they all looked stunning the day of the wedding.




Flower Girl Dress US Angel 172, Bridal Reflections: A
I have no words for how adorable my niece was in her flower girl dress. She is just the cutest thing alive and we were all so happy with how she looked in her dress the day of the wedding.



Mother of The Bride Dress My Daughter's Wedding: A+
My mom decided on a flowy dress to go along with the bridesmaid dresses. She had lost a lot of weight from when she ordered the dress up until it was time to start alterations. My Daughter's Wedding took such great care of her. Their service was impeccable! They moved zippers around flawlessly and even added the caplet sleeves to the dress. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. We will definitely use them again in the future.



Tuxedos Town & Country: B
DH and his friends had used this place in the past so we used them again. There were a few mishaps the day of the wedding such as one of the guys losing a button on their jacket and some of the shirts seemed a little old. They also had our contract out for everyone to see when they came in and we felt that was unprofessional and tacky. All in all the tuxes looked great in pictures and we were happy but we would probably go somewhere else if we had to do it again.




Hotel Blocks, Night Before the Wedding, & Morning of the Wedding The Inn at Fox Hollow: A The Hampton Inn: A
We did our hotel blocks at both the Inn and Fox Hollow and The Hampton Inn. They were both very clean and accommodating to us and our guests. The night before the wedding I stayed in a suite at the Fox Hollow and my parents stayed in one as well. We used my suite to get ready in the morning of the wedding and it was perfect. The suites are absolutely gorgeous! We had enough space for everything and Iavarone Brother's of Woodbury catered us breakfast. Most of our guests stayed at the Fox Hollow and enjoyed the morning after brunch.








OOT Boxes Etsy Seller CertainlyChic: A
I contacted certainlychic to create our OOT boxes for our hotel guests and she did just a great job! They came out so cute and matched our wedding colors. Our guests were all so pleasantly surprised to receive them at check-in!


Night Before The Wedding Invitations Etsy Seller Hellodahila: A
We got married at our hall so we didn't have an RD but I still wanted to do something the night before with my girls. I contacted Hellodahlia to create these adorable invites for my bridesmaids inviting them to come hang with me in my suite. We catered in food from Iavarone Brother's, sipped some champagne, and watched Bridesmaids on DVD lol it was such a fun and cozy way to spend my last night as a Miss!


Boudior Pictures Jenerations: A
I did my boudior session with Jen back in August but I had one of the groomsmen deliver the pictures to DH the night before the wedding. Jen and her team were excellent and Oksana gave me that smokey centerfold make up. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who is considering it. It is a must! Here is one of my favs


Hair Glendy from Maximus Westbury: A+
Glendy is the cutest little thing alive and she is a true hair genius. Hair was super important to me. I have known Glendy for years and even worked with her in the past. I knew I had nothing to worry about with Glendy in charge. She did my mom's, my sister's and my hair the day of the wedding and we all loved how it came out. My curls lasted the entire night and they were the right size, nice and smooth and not too tight. I love you, Glendy!!



Make Up Christy Ann Cosmetics: A
I love, love, love Christy. She is such a doll and I knew from the first time I met her that we were going to click. When I went for my trial Christy was so sweet and I felt like I was talking to someone I have known for years. She knew exactly what I wanted, which was to look glammed up but still like me. I hired her on the spot to do my make up as well as my sister's and my mom's. Everything stayed in place and lasted all night thanks to her great airbrushing skills and some long lashes. Couldn't be happier!


Day of Coordinator Cynthia Ross Affairs: A+
Cindy is exactly what a coordinator should be calm, cool and collected while also being prepared for the unexpected and how to make you happy. Thankfully we didn't have any big problems the day of the wedding but even for the minor things that went wrong Cindy was right there. When she thought my purple uplighting for my ceremony looked too pink she took a picture of it and came right to the bridal suite to show me. She worked with the lighting technician until I was happy and settled on blue. When one of the groomsmen was running late she made sure I had no clue and worked out our timeline so nothing would be affected. There was much more that she did and me and my family are so thankful for her and the hard work she put into making us happy. Cindy even came with me to Kleinfeld to learn my corset and bustle and spent the day with us in the city. I told her at the end of the wedding I was so sad not to have to talk to her all the time lol I would hire Cindy for every event- love her!



Our Reception Hall The Woodlands: A++++++
I had never heard of The Woodlands before I got engaged. It was the second RH we visited and I knew that this was the place from when we were driving up the long winding driveway. It was important for me to have our wedding at a venue that was only one event at a time, set back from a main road and didn't have a factory feel to it. I also wanted a place that had beautiful grounds so we didn't have to go somewhere else to take pictures. The Woodlands exceeded our expectations by far. The vintage decor was exactly perfect for an November evening wedding. I always thought I would go more modern but I instantly fell in love. We loved that the walls in the cocktail hour space were brought over from a castle in Ireland, it really gave it a different look than any other wedding we had been too. The entire staff at the Woodlands was super accommodating. We booked with Debbie and she was our point of contact up until our final meeting that we had with Steve, the General Manager. Both Steve and Debbie were professional and extremely nice. We knew we had nothing to worry about. The day of the wedding we met out M'aitre D, Raymond and our Bridal Attendant, Iris. Love them both! Iris is so cute and made sure I always had a drink, napkin, lip gloss, whatever I needed. Raymond was awesome. He reminded me of an ex-club promoter but the good kind lol he made sure his staff kept moving and that the night went seamlessly. Steve had told us about their no shot policy at our tasting which we were really upset about but the night of the wedding he was on the dance floor with trays of shots lol We upgraded the dessert to the Viennese display and it was awesome. I only walked around it once to look but Raymond made sure I got to taste a cheesecake lollipop which we specifically requested. I couldn't even eat the whole thing that's how rich and delicious it was. Family members of ours who are not known to be that nice even commented on the food being, 'the best wedding food they have ever had.' Between the food, the staff, and the ambiance The Woodlands really came through. I want to do it all again!! Here are some pictures throughout The Woodlands


















The Cake Provided by The Woodlands: A
We loved our cake! I was nervous about it because it was one of the things I didn't have control over and wasn't going to see it until we were at the wedding. I provided them with the crystal banding, bows, brooches, cake topper and a drawing of how I wanted it to look. They definitely delivered! It also didn't hurt that we chose two amazing cakes to fill the cake. Two tiers were red velvet and cream cheese filling and the other two tired were chocolate cake with raspberry filling. Delish!



Cake Topper Dazzlemeelegant.com: A
I really wanted to do something different than just clear crystals since our colors were black and white with a touch of purple so I went to dazzlemelegant to create our cake topper using jet black crystals and I was thrilled with how it came out. It was super sparkly for black crystals!


Officiant Minister Keith from NY Marriages: A
Lovedddddddd Minister Keith! He was a doll to work with. He sets himself apart from other wedding officiants by making you feel very comfortable and giving the feel of a guest at your wedding rather then a stranger who just isn't a priest, rabbi, what have you. We worked with Keith to create such a sweet ceremony and we are really happy with what he delivered. I cannot wait to get our video back to listen to it all again! I have already recommended Keith to several people and they booked him on the spot as well.



Unity Candle Etsy Seller leighannkline: A
We were so excited when we opened our unity candle from Leigh-ann. It looked so much nicer than we could have imagined in person. She incorporated so many aspects of of wedding onto the candles- bling, lace, and black and white. It looked so beautiful with the Monique Lhuillier for Royal Doultan unity candle set my grandparents gave us!



Cry Packs Etsy Seller tiggagator: B+
I contacted this seller to create cry packs for me and she was really great to work with and delivered exactly what I wanted at such a great price. I was so thrilled with the label she created and the quality of her work. The only reason I am giving her a B+ is because I contacted her to order more and it took me a few days to respond back to her and when I did she never responded. I have heard from other brides that she cleared out her shop and also never answered them either. Oh well, the amount I had originally ordered was fine and they looked so cute on the little trays we bought.


Here Comes The Bride Sign Etsy Seller MyPrimitiveBoutique: A
Loved this sign and my nephew looked crazy adorable carrying it while he walked down the aisle. I would definitely recommend this seller.


Invitations & Favors & Other Miscellaneous Stationary Katie from Eleven 18 Design Studio: A+++
I think I spoke to Katie more than some of my friends during my wedding planning process. She was AMAZING to work with and was always just an email away. I went to her initially to create a replica of an invitation that I feel in love with that would've wound up costing almost $3,000 from the liner to the crystals. Katie was able to create something very similar for us and we loved it. It was the perfect modern invitation and suited other aspects of our wedding simultaneously. After the invitations, I went back to Katie to create our matching table number, menus, place cards, favor signs for our donation favor to the Veteran's hospital in Northport, signature drink signs, signs for the cigars, and inserts for the shuttles for our OOT boxes. She executed all of these items flawlessly and I will continue using her for her gorgeous work!








Linens Table Wraps: A
I really wanted to tie in more black to our tables to go along with our black and white theme. Linens were the answer. We rented black satin runners and black cotton napkins from Table Wraps and they were so great to work with. They dropped everything off and picked everything up on their own and worked extremely professionally. They gave great prices and are highly recommended.


Name & Poem Plaque Channa at My Sweet Memories: A+
Channa is amazing as any LIW bride will tell you. I first contacted her to create our name plaque and she did such a great job I ordered two more for my friends also getting married this year. I then had an idea for a poem plaque and contacted Channa to see what she thought. She loved the idea and created it for me right away. To my horror, I received it and it was completely smashed on one side. I contacted Channa immediately and she told me not to worry as the package was insured so she made me a new one right away and sent it. It was perfect! I loved how we decided to display her work in the foyer of our RH. Both pieces really complimented the space.




Card Box Etsy Seller DivineWeddingDecor: A
Lovedddddddddddddd my card box and loved that it was similar to my cake. This seller does such great work and I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the quality of the box was in person. It was simple yet had enough going on that tied into our wedding. Love!


Match Boxes Foryourparty.com: A
The matches were so cute! We knew we wanted them to accompany the cigars on the bars in the reception. I loved how this website had so many boxes and books to choose from as well as layouts for the designs. We went with the metallic silver as we thought it was a nice touch and a little different than your average match box.


Cigars Little Cigar Factory: A
It was important to my dad to have cigars but we were on the fence with having a cigar roller being that our wedding was in a cooler month and cigar rollers are typically more expected at a summer wedding due to the temperatures. My dad wound up purchasing a large quantity for the wedding from Little Cigar Factor in Massapequa and they came out very nice. They give you custom labels for your event and they were a nice accent to the evening. We really wanted the dance floor packed all night so we didn't put the cigars out until the last hour or so for people to enjoy them. I don't have a picture of them in the trays that we bought. My photographer probably missed them due to them being put out so late, but that's ok. They were still a hit!

To-Go Boxes Etsy Seller Scrapbits: A
We really wanted to provide our guests with To-Go boxes during the Viennese display as most people are too stuffed by the time they get to dessert or are too busy dancing. I thought white gable boxes were a good way to go and we ordered 3.25' round custom stickers from scrapbits. They came out so cute and I'm glad many of our guests got to take some goodies home with them!


Limos Camelot: Day of A/Before C
So many girls on LIW raved about Joe and Camelot so there was not much research done besides that. We didn't really need limos as we were having our ceremony at the RH but I still want them for pick up and drop off for both DH and I. We went to visit Joe and he was just as everyone said THE BEST. He was so great to work with and he gave us a great price on the Navigator and 'threw in' a pick up at the end of the night for DH and I to bring up back to the Fox Hollow. Although Joe was great, we were kind of turned off by how run-down the office was. It reminded me of an old taxi cab station, which is fine but just not consistent with their fleet of cars, buses, and trucks. About three months before our wedding I contacted Joe to find out about the new Audi Q17 they were supposedly getting soon. He told me to call him back at the end of September to follow up on the status because of then he did not know for sure but if they did get it in time, it was ours. I call back the end of September and the girl on the phone tells me that they are figuring out how they are going to get the car from California, either drive it back or have it delivered but they should definitely have it there in October and to call back in a couple weeks to speak to Joe. I call back and the girl has Joe pick up and tell me he's not sure still when it will arrive but don't worry about the final payment yet because we will take care of that when you know exactly what car you are getting. From this point on I received SIX calls from the girls from the office to confirm my timeline and final payment. I had to explain the story SIX different times letting them know that I had already told them the previous times and why are they not making a note of this and to stop calling me? The last girl finally says she's making a note of it and she is really sorry. A week before my wedding I contact Joe to find out the final story if they will have the Audi or not and he let's me know that unfortunately they are not getting it in time. OK, fine. A little disappointed but fine. I go to make the final payment over the phone and he says I can't pay by credit card. Excuse me what? No where on or contract did it say that and never did anyone tell us that and the amount is so little that who really cares? You also strung me along for months when I could have made 10 trips to make a payment to your office but no now my mom has to come the week of the wedding to drop of such a minor payment. We just found it extremely rude and bad customer service. To top it all off, when my mom went to drop off the payment there were two people smoking cigarettes in the office. GROSS! The day of the wedding was great and the drivers were prompt and professional so they get an A but as for their customer service beforehand they get a C. They definitely did their job and got everyone where they had to be on time and in clean cars but there are so many other companies that would treat the customer better.



Flowers Bayview Florist & Montage: A+++
Bayview has been my local florist for years. From dance recital bouquets to prom corsages they were it! We had no clue that they did weddings until I joined LIW. One meeting with Marion and I was sold. We had met with two other florists and I just wasn't impressed. I had no photo of exactly what kind of centerpiece I wanted but I felt that Marion understood my vision. I wanted something very modern and not overdone with a touch of bling. When I went to see my sample, I was in shock at how close she was to the vision in my head. The day of the wedding was even better. She created our ceremony chuppah, personal flowers, entrance display and centerpieces and they were all stunning! She really blew me away. When I saw her at the RH that day I told her I wanted to make out with my bouquet lol she said that is the best compliment ever! Everything was on time and fresh and exactly what we asked for.













DJ & Music Bravura Entertainment: A+++
I had never heard of Bravura or been to a Bravura wedding before I joined LIW. All I can say is, thank go I found them! They are the perfect mix of DJ and live elements in the most professional way. The entire Bravura team comes dress in black and do their thing flawlessly. There was never a moment of silence thanks to them. We met with Bravura and booked them on the spot. We booked a ceremony duo of piano and violin, their singer Vincent on the piano and a latin guitar for cocktail hour , and for reception we Tony as our MC along with the DJ, Vincent on his piano, their saxophonist and their percussionist. We also booked their uplighting package. Adding all of this to the basic DJ package was the best decision we made! Vincent's voice is to die for and he sang so many songs during the different courses. It's almost not worth it to book Bravura unless you book their live elements as well. They interact with the guests in a fun way and they kept the dance floor packed all night long. During our final meeting Tony upgraded our ceremony duo to a trio and added a bass player. The night of the wedding everything was perfect! They followed all of our wishes seamlessly and truly delivered an amazing performance. Our guests are still raving about them being the best they have ever seen! Loveeeeeeee Bravura! Here are some pics of them in action
















Photographer Duet: A+
We are beyond thrilled with the way our pictures came out and the professionalism and service delivered by Duet. They really know what they are doing over there! We originally booked them for photo and video but wound up canceling the video and they didn't give us any problem at all when doing so. They scratched it right off the contract, which we never thought they would do. We booked Nick as well as a second photographer and they were excellent. As much as there may be a language barrier, they still captured everything we want. From coordinating our reveal and portrait shots to more photojournalistic images, they covered it all. We received nearly 3,000 proofs and I am still not sure that I have seen every single one lol We haven't chosen our album yet but I'm sure it can't be bad with these amazing photos. Videographer AJ Ingoglia Films: A+++++++
Obsessed with AJ and his work!! He is truly a genius behind that lens!! We cancelled our video with Duet in order to book AJ. Once I saw Ashley (BlushandBashful) and Kristen (KFizz) trailers I had to jump ship and get on board with AJ. We haven't recieved our full-length video yet but the trailer is more than enough for me to give him an A+++++++!! His choice of songs mixed with the amazing footage he captures and the editing techniques he uses he is THE BEST!! He had everyone laughing all day and the fact that he is around the age of most of his couples and has a great personality makes it all the more easier to love him. Honeymoon Excellence Playa Mujeres: A+++
Mexico is my absolute favorite place to vacation. Their resorts have the cleanest and most modern amenities not to mention the best service and excellent food. We chose Excellence Playa Mujeres for our honeymoon because we wanted a beachy and relaxing honeymoon more than a sight-seeing one. We stayed for 10 days and upgraded to the Excellence Club in order to have a two-story ocean view suite. We went swimming with the dolphins, rode a dune buggy, zip-lining, jet skiing, had a couple's massage at the beach at sunset, and much more. It was HEAVEN! I think DH would agree with me that our private roof-top pool was the best part and we would go back just for that! Here are a few pictures of us enjoying EPM
