Our August 13, 2011 Review: East Wind/ Inn, Duet photography, Timepiece band, ******* florist, Bridal Elegance , Makeup, Uplighting and Greece honeymoon

East Wind:
East wind is a beautiful place to get married. The outside is very well kept as well as the indoors. There are many photo opportunities both inside and out. We got married at East Wind and the ceremony area outdoors is breathtaking. I am not a huge fan of the indoor ceremony center but it looks very pretty when the lights are dimmed and the room is set up.

The North Hampton room was perfect for our wedding. The size was a perfect fit. I loved how it had it's own separate enterance and own bathrooms. Cocktail hour has an outside patio that we were able to utilize because the weather was nice. There was a ton of food NO ONE WILL LEAVE HUNGRY !! The rooms have a nice long/large bar area that is a nice finished brown wood. The reception room is very elegant! Between the bar, dance floor , skylights and linens, we couldn't go wrong. The service during cocktail hour and the reception was very good. We got great feedback from our guests about the food and drinks. JUST AN FYI..the food at the tasting didn't taste as good as it did the night of the wedding.

Timepiece band:
I heard the band Timepiece at my best friends wedding 3 years ago and loved them. They are definitely entertainers. They came out onto the dance floor and entertained the guest. When we went to a showcase for Franklin Wanye and heard both timepiece and heart and soul back to back, and liked Timepiece better. We went to a few other places to listen to bands and for the sound and price, we couldn't go wrong.


Groove New York LED Lighting:

We used Groove New York lighting and couldn't have been happier. They gave us an entire selection of colors to choose from and since they are very familiar with East Wind (along with many other halls) they was able to help us decide which colors would look best for our reception. Their prices were very competitive to what is out there. They responded promptly to any questions and concerns and made me feel at ease. I couldn't believe how the uplighting made the room look. When they asked my husband and I to look at the room right before the guest entered, we were WOWED by the way it looked. We were shown the room with no lights and then with the lights on and boy, it changed the room 100% (in a good way). What else was nice is that the lights are WIRELESS which kept the room looking clean (no wires). They really are a great company and I would recommend them to anyone.

Duet Photography:

We used TJ for our photography. Duet is very reasonably priced. TJ was always on time and made us feel at ease. Our engagement pictures came out amazing. I said to my fiance at the time, if these pic's come out good then we are golden. I said this because my eyes were tearing due to the wind and it was freezing. Needless to say, Tj took some great shots and we were very impressed. The day of the wedding, I felt a little rushed but that was because the girls and I were running late. Tj is more of a photojournalistic photographer. We took a mix of formals and candid shots. I haven't received the pictures yet so I don't know how those came out but I am sure he got a lot of great shots.
A few negatives is that the video is going to take 4 months to get and you have to stay on top of them so that you know the steps you need to take. I know a concern that a lot of people have is the language barrier but we didn't seem to feel it was an issue at all.

Bridal Elegance:

Bridal Elegance is AMAZING! I have used bridal elegance for all of my alterations for past weddings and I loved them. I ended up buying my dress and my bm dresses from there as well. My dress was by Mori Lee and it was so priced VERY well. I must have tried on 30 dresses in one session at bridal elegance and they were so patient. It was very easy to make an appointment for my fittings. My BM dresses were by Bill Levkoff. It was very easy for my BM to get an appointment to come in to get altered.

******* florist:

******* florist was priced very competitively. I worked with John who at first I had some issues with but then got better. I suggest when you go to ******* go in with a lot of ideas as to what you want. The first time I went in not knowing what I wanted and I felt rushed. The second time I went in, I went in with a bunch of pictures of exactly what I wanted and in the end, they were able to make the replicas. I would use ******* for any other party's I might have.

Makeup:

I used BeautybyBeth and I along wtih my bridal party loved her. She does exactly what you ask for and makes sure everyone is happy with the outcome. She is not pricey and has such a calming personality. She will do anything from natural to dramatic. She does airbrushing as well.


Our Greece honeymoon was AMAZING. We went to Santorini which was out of this world/breathtaking. From the sunset views to the food that melted in our mouths, we couldn't ask for a better place to visit. We didn't love Mykonos as the scene wasn't really for us. The last place we went to was Athens. We spent one night there but could have used two. Since there was a hurricane in New York at the time, we got 'stuck' in Europe and ended up going to Paris for 4 nights.

I would like to add that we got back our professional pics and LOVED them. He captured all te moment and more. We wanted candid and he got many great shots. We are happy with the results!!!
