Post Hurricane wedding - 11/3/2012 - Timber Point County Club, Creations Music, Once Upon an Event, Towers Flowers & more!!

Still can't figure out how to embed the pictures into my review but I have a few pics in my album to view.

I started my review a few months prior to my wedding and figured I would just fill in the day of details. Well, who knew the biggest hurricane would hit only days prior to my big day. Due to Sandy, so many things about my planning changed and each vendor stepped up in their own way. I felt that my initial review did not do any justice for the way the actual day turned out. I am going to leave most of my original review, but add in the important details of how each vendor handled such a disaster and made my day wonderful.

As most brides will tell you, the day goes super fast, so take in as much as possible and enjoy every minute. Even if things don't go EXACTLY as planned, do not let it ruin the day. Remember what the day is all about and that nothing in life is perfect.

LIW - great website for meeting other brides and bouncing ideas, but not the be all and end all. Remember that there are other great vendors out there that you may not hear about on this site but do amazing work. Always go with your gut when choosing a vendor.

The Mansion at Timber Point: A
DH and I were on a strict budget in order to be able to pull the wedding off in a certain amount of time. I had done a ton of online research and had gone to a few bridal showcases at various reception halls. One Sunday, I had asked a friend of mine to go looking at RH's and she had mentioned her girlfriend had gotten married at Timber Point a few years prior and that it was very nice and budget friendly. They were having a showcase that day, so after hitting a few other places we ended our day at Timber Point. I had never heard of it or even knew where Great River was but we took the drive and I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The 2 most important things to DH & I, when it came to the wedding, were good food and good music. I knew Lessings had a great reputation for food but needed to experience it myself. The cocktail display they had at the showcase along with passed hors d'oeuvres were amazing! I liked everything I tried, and was even happier when I got their pricing. I took DH back for a tasting (which was amazing) and we signed a contract that day! Timber Point had the right amount of ambiance we were looking for, it's a smaller venue but that is more our style. And best of all we loved the food and they were able to work within our strict budget.
About a year into my planning the BM I had been working with resigned the position and was appointed Miriam to work with for the rest of the time till my wedding. The woman, Terry, who we originally signed with was part of the reason we picked timber point. She was very personable and really made me feel like I was the only bride. Miriam was the total opposite. Although, I did not have to deal with her a lot, if I had worked with her from the start I would not have booked Timber Point. If you are looking for someone to tell you anything you want to hear, then she is your woman, but I am more of a realist, so I felt we did not see eye to eye.
The week prior to my wedding, I went in for my final payment/walk-through. At this point, Sandy had already hit and we were still trying to evaluate the situation at the RH. The venue had half power but reassured me that everything the day of would be fine. At this time I was appointed Jason as my maitre d for the day. Jason was absolutely amazing! He let me call him everyday frantic to find out if they got full power back and dealt with all my crazy questions and requests.
The day of Timber Point still only had half power but I can absolutely say no one knew and everything went off without a hitch Jason and his staff really stepped up. I had so many people compliment us on the food but more so on the attentiveness of the staff. They really want you to enjoy yourself whether you are a guest or the bride or groom. I am a stickler for time and the entire day went off exactly on time and to perfection. I could not have asked for a better day thanks to Jason and the staff at Timber Point.

Towers Flowers of Nesconset: A+
DH went to school with Bridgette so I knew I would have to visit her when it came to our flowers. I had no clue when it came to flowers and price, but knew this was an area we would need to save money on. I met with 5 different florists and in the end Bridgette understood what I wanted without me knowing. She whipped up a quick bouquet on my initial visit and I fell in love. Bridgette did not assume anything regarding budget, and really worked with me. When it was time to see my centerpiece sample, she first made up a sample in the lower end of my price range and we tweaked it from there. She was so easy to work with and came up with the most amazing flowers to compliment my colors. Everything I asked for was executed beautifully the day of and I would highly recommend meeting with Bridgette.

Creations Music: A++
10 years ago I attended my friends wedding and Kim Sozzi was playing with her band Creations. I knew then that when I got married they would need to play at my wedding. As soon as we started looking at venues and started narrowing down our date I contacted Kim to see if she would be willing to work with us. A few weeks later we signed our contact and Kim was my next call. DH and I went to meet with her and he was just as sold as I was. I had no idea how popular Kim had become over the years and now had some hits on the radio. This made me even more excited for our big day!
We had contracted for a 7 piece band and the week prior Kim called to let me know all band members were accounted for after the storm and were ready to play if there was still a wedding. DH & I made sure there was enough power at the RH to accommodate them and they sounded amazing the day of. I didn't want to give a list of songs to play and not play as they have been doing weddings for a long time and didn't want to insult them with a lengthy list. Instead I gave a brief description of the types of music DH & I like and a few small requests such as acoustic guitar during dinner with 80's rock band type music. They did not disappoint at all. All the music played accommodated both of our tastes and even got some of the older crowd on the dance floor. People are still talking about the band and how amazing the lead singer was. Kim really has an amazing voice, she is down to earth and a lot of fun to be around. I wouldn't of had it any other way than having her sing at our wedding.

Park Ave Studios - photo/video: A
From the moment DH & I met Brian, we clicked right away. He started describing our wedding day and capturing the moments and I was getting chills. His style is mixed and we were impressed with the books he had for us to look at. We decided prior that video was something that we could not afford. After meeting Brian, we were able add video into our package and still walk away with all the albums and prints we wanted. Communication was always great, and Brian was there to answer any questions I had along the way. Our engagement shoot was quick but we walked away with a ton of pictures. It was a great way to get to know the photographer before the day.
The week of, Brian and our videographer John, both contacted me for times and meeting place and both showed up on time and ready to go. Brian was a lot of fun to have around for the day. He was cracking jokes and really trying to make the family feel comfortable. I received my photos back and am in love with them. Brian really did a great job at capturing our day. There were a few photos missed, but overall our pictures tell a great story. I do not suggest giving a laundry list of must take photos, but if any are really important to you make sure you jot it down and have someone in charge of making sure all the pics are taken. I did not get back thousands of pictures like some offer, but the quality of the ones we did get make it very hard to narrow down for our album. I have not received my video yet but John was running around like a maniac all day, I can't wait to see the final product.

Once Upon and Event - Day of Coordinator: A+++++
I had gone back and forth on having a DOC for a long time. At 6 months out, I was getting overwhelmed, and talked to DH about this possibility. He let me research the idea and it was around the time I had heard about Once Upon and Event. They were just starting out and had great pricing. Once I met with Kristyn I was sold. I needed to have these girls with me. If not for anything but piece of mind..it was worth it!
Once I booked with them, they were great with communication and answered any questions I had. I really enjoyed planning myself and didn't need a lot of help but was excited to have them with me to execute my vision.
Here is where they become lifesavers.....as most experienced the same as myself, from the day of the storm, I was left with no power at my house and no cell service unless I drove 10 minutes to the main road, and service was still iffy. You can only imagine the amount of appointments and phone calls that need to be made the week leading up to your wedding...and I'm off the grid!
Kristyn took over from this point on. She was my appointment setter, vendor follow up, anything I needed girl! The Wednesday prior to the wedding, Kristyn met me at Timber Point for my final walk through. She had already contacted most of my vendors and had a list of the ones that needed to be called. At this point I told her that my dress was at the mall and that Macy's was closed and did not know when they were opening. She made sure all was well at the RH and we were on our way. I don't think I was half way home when Kristyns partner Mara was calling me to say she had gotten a hold of Macy's corporate and that they were getting my dress no matter what! I wouldn't have even thought of this, let alone had enough time to handle all of it. Needless to say, Macy's opened on Thursday and my dress was safe to take home. But that wasn't the end of it....Friday, only an hour before I am going to my rehearsal dinner, I get a call from my makeup artist who unfortunately had lost her cars and home in the storm and was not able to get a rental to be at my house the next day. One call to Kristyn, and within the hour she found someone that was willing to be at my house early the following morning. I still don't know what I would have done since I had to be at my rehearsal and there was no time to take care of that bump in the road.
Now the day of....I had only contracted Once Upon an Event from picture location to end of reception. I was going to get ready at my house and take a limo to the picture location and everyone would meet there. With everything that was going on, Kristyn took it upon herself to drive over an hour away to be at my house early in the morning just to make sure we were ready and running on time. At no point did she want extra money or felt she had to do it. She wanted to do it, and that made me feel great that she really cared about my day as much as me.
Once we were off and running, Kristyn went to the RH to set up, and Mara met us at the picture location. When I tell you these girls do not miss a beat, it's the truth. From running after my SIL to cut the tags off her dress, to cleaning dirt spots off my MOH's dress, corralling the gang, and wiping sweat off my face from dancing, there is nothing these girls won't do. They were not obtrusive at all, but they were around at all times and watching for anything and everything that may or may not go wrong. They saw things before they happened and took care of it without anyone noticing. Both girls did an amazing job at making my day special. They even checked me into our hotel and packed up all of our stuff at the end of the night. It was so nice not to have to think about anything and really enjoy the day.
I could easily go on for another few pages about all the things they did for me, and how I felt like I found friends, not vendors, in these girls. All I can do it keep recommending them. I received so many compliments about their professionalism and all that they did. I had married woman tell me if they could do it again they would have called this company.

Invitations: DIY
I never wanted to spend a lot of money on invitations because I know they get thrown out. I was not into the DIY kits as I knew I could drive myself crazy with them. Trying to be frugal, I purchased 100 invites on-line for real cheap without getting a sample first. My mistake! They arrived quickly and although I loved the actual invite & design I was disappointed in the quality of the card stock they were printed on. I agonized over it for weeks until I decided instead of scratching the whole thing and starting over, I would try and salvage my purchase. I went on-line to find pockets or pochettes to make the invites fancy but the prices were so high it would have doubled my invitation budget. I came across envelopemall.com and they had the best pricing around. This time I wasn't making any mistakes. I ordered a few samples of card stock in various colors and purchased pochettes and card stock to back the response cards. I spent an entire day with my mom cutting and taping them together but overall I was happy in the end.
The only good thing that came out of my mess was that the invitation company was willing to send me a template of my invitations to use for all my other stationary. I had a co-worker design my table numbers etc and took the disc to Staples to be printed. I was happy to bring my theme throughout all of my stationary.

Makeup engagement pics- Danielle: A
I had heard about Danielle from another LIW bride. After pricing out other makeup vendors, I could not see paying over $100 for one makeup application. I called Danielle and she was super sweet on the phone. I set up a trial for her to do my makeup for my engagement pics. She was on time that day, I showed her one pic, and she nailed my makeup on one try! She did not charge me more for my trial or the day of and did not charge to travel to my house.

Makeup wedding day - Christine Martin: A+++
As explained above, my original make up artist lost her cars in the storm and was not able to get a rental in time for my day. My DOC called Christine less than 24 hours in advance and although she did have a bride the next day, it was later, and she felt so bad for my scenario, she accepted and was at my house super early the next day. Now, although I was happy that someone was coming to my rescue, I also had my doubts that I had not done a trial with Christine and wanted to make sure my makeup came out how I wanted it. I don't wear a lot of makeup to begin with and still wanted to look natural for my day. I showed her a pic of my engagement makeup and gave her little direction as to what I was looking for. Maybe this was the blessing in disguise because my makeup came out AMAZING! Christine was a great person to be around and she was super patient with my mom who has never gotten her make up done before. Not only did she nail my look but my makeup lasted all day. I mean ALL DAY! From 6 am to 10 pm and when I tell you I was dancing like a maniac, I was sweating like crazy on the dance floor. Makeup still flawless! I cannot thank Christine enough for coming to my rescue. She is a vendor I would recommend 1000 times over!

The Sugar Chic: A+++
Another savior in disguise! I won a contest through LIW for 100 cookies with the Sugar Chic. Melissa was great to work with from the start. She gave me free range as to what designs, colors, etc I wanted. For free cookies, I really got to pick whatever I wanted. She even allowed me come up with my own design if I wanted. We were in contact right before the storm and everything was still a go and she was able to bake the cookies, were were just at UPS's whim. Most of our communication was through email and after the storm I was not able to access my email. On Wednesday of that week, Melissa and I were finally able to communicate on the phone and there was no UPS service at all. I understood the situation was out of her control and offered to drive to her house to pick them up since she had gone to the trouble to make them. Melissa insisted on meeting me and we wound up meeting in a parking lot just so she could give me my prize. I even tried tipping her for going above and beyond and she declined the tip. Besides Melissa really going the extra mile, when I looked at the cookies they were amazingly gorgeous and when I had a chance to taste them they were delicious! I wound up having enough cookies to fill all my out of town bags, give them as favors at my rehearsal dinner, and still had some to give to vendors and my bridesmaids as well. And of course a few for the hubby and I to enjoy on our honeymoon! I had several guests asking about them and really raved at the design as well as taste.

Hair by Liza: A++
Can't say enough about her and not only because she is my sister in law! Because she is family and has been doing my hair for many years, I let her do whatever she wanted. I never even researched hair styles as I knew she would nail it either way. 2 years before the wedding she basically stopped cutting my hair to grow it out. By the time the wedding came my hair was a great length and the extra bonus was that she had made extensions to really add to my hair. Having a hairdresser as your bridesmaid also means they will be with you all day. This really worked out great as we took pictures in the morning and it was pretty windy. After pictures and before my ceremony she was able to fix my hair to make it perfect, and fixed me a few times throughout the night. She even came to our after party and gave me another hair style for the evening. I know most don't have the luxury of a traveling hair stylist but she was my right hand girl making sure I was primped all day!

Tuxedos - Mens warehouse: A
I've heard a few nightmare stories about Men's warehouse and tuxes but I had a great experience. We used the location by smithaven mall and worked with Maria. She sat with my picky husband for a while till we found the right combo for his guys. The ordering was really easy and because my husband had a large bridal party he wound up getting his tux for free as well as $500 credit towards a new suit. All the groomsmen were able to pick up at any location and all went smooth. They only missed one thing, and that was the best man was supposed to have a different color handkerchief. Didn't notice till I got my pictures back and it really wasn't a big deal.

Etsy buys: A for all!
CirclesnDots - I bought the cutest custom piggy bank for my ring bearer. Sarah was so easy to work with and even after my first bank arrived in the mail cracked, she replaced it quickly, without a hassle, and at no charge. She designed the cutest bank off only a few emails and is very talented.

ArtienoGallery - I was looking for pashmina's for my bridesmaids as gifts and came across this store. Jessy had screen printed scarves that were nice quality. She provided a discount for a bulk order. The product came quickly and were really nice.

creatingapapermemory - timelines/water bottle labels - while researching out bags, I came across this vendor who makes all kinds of stationary. I sent her the template for my invitations and she was able to create beautiful timelines and water bottle labels to go with my theme.

Mygroomsmengifts.com: B-
DH purchased all of his guys gifts from this website. The quality was OK. Some of the items were really nice and others were just ok. I probably wouldn't have noticed so much if he hadn't gotten personalized glasses. The glasses were great but some of the professionalization was crooked. The consistency in the work was just not there.

NY Style limo: A
We only needed limos for pictures before the ceremony and a shuttle for our hotel guests. I had reached out to over 20 limo companies and no one could touch Anthony's price. When we met him, he was very down to earth and more interested in our day going smoothly than how much he was charging us. I will admit he was not always the easiest to get a hold of but he did always follow up when he could and was there to answer any questions I had. With everything that was going on with the storm and the shortage of gas, I was worried about the limos, but most of my family/bridal party were in the same boat and we needed limos to actually get to the wedding. Anthony did not disappoint. Both limos were on time in the morning, had gas to get us where we were going, and even the shuttle for our hotel guests got everyone there and back on time. His limos were clean and the drivers were very professional We wound up using his service to/from the airport for our honeymoon and again, on time and professional.

Macy's bridal: A for Roxanne, C for Macy's
I didn't want the fuss of going to a bridal suite. I guess the small environment puts pressure on me to buy. I had been to David'd bridal in the past for friends weddings and was not happy with their service. I was not ruling it out, but wanted to check out Macy's first. I went during a trunk show, not planning on finding anything, just trying on. The saleslady Roxanne was so helpful and in the end she was the one that picked out my dress. I hated it on the hanger but was willing to try anything. Glad I was open minded. She even let me come back another time with my MOH and helped us try on what felt like a gazillion bridesmaid dresses. She was so patient and again helped us narrow down the choices to find my perfect bridesmaid dress. Also, buying during a trunk show let me come in within budget and they gave me 50% off my veil for buying a dress that day.
Dealing with Macy's, I did have to go several times. I did not have such a great experience every time I went in though. When I brought my bridesmaids in to try on their dress, I had to put clamps on their dress as the sales lady went MIA once she put my BM's in a dressing room. They were arguing with my MOH about the size dress she was ordering and wanted her to go smaller which would have caused her more alterations in the end. I wanted to try on my dress for my bm's and first they told me another bride was trying it on, then they told me that the sample was sent to another store, then when I found my dress on the rack and showed it to them they finally let me put it on. Their alterations are extremely expensive, almost more than the actual dress costs and they only do alterations 2 days a week. When it was time for my alterations and bustle, they rushed my MOH along and didn't show her how to tie the corset back properly and when I was extremely upset over the ugly bustle they originally planned to do, they blew it off that I was beautiful and that was the only way they could do the bustle. I came home crying that they did not listen. I researched on-line the bustle I wanted and went back in to show them. They said they could do it the way I wanted it and I was happy. When I went to pick up the dress, they then tell me this bustle will cost me more money. I felt all the back and forth and getting upset was not worth the discount I paid. In the end, I probably could have gone to a bridal suite and found something comparable in price without the headache of Macy's.

Officiant: Rev Deb: A
When I first contacted Rev Deb I was looking for a short but sweet ceremony, nothing extensive. My husband and I met with Deb once, and when she sent me my first draft, I was in tears. Only after meeting us for a little while, she was able to put together one of the nicest ceremonies with some details of our relationship and our personalities. I received many compliments on the ceremony and how lovely it was. Rev Deb was a pleasure to work with. She was responsive with questions and showed up on time and ready to go the day of. She is definitely worth meeting with.

Wedding rings:
DH is an electrician and cannot wear a ring while working. He wanted something simple and didn't want to break the bank. I had attended a bridal showcase where I won 2 free bands from JVL jewelry. We ordered them just to see and DH actually wound up really liking the tungsten band and decided to keep it. I have told him if he ever wants to upgrade we will make the investment later.

I had a very hard time finding a band that would compliment my ering. DH did such a nice job picking out my ring I wanted to make sure I found it's perfect match. The only way to really match it was to have a custom ring. After pricing this option, I quickly decided against it. We had popped into Attias Flea Market one weekend and started trying on a million bands. I can't remember the name of the booth, but the guy was so patient. He did not want to sell me any old ring, he wanted to make sure I was happy and that it actually did compliment my ering. I think he spent 2 hours with us, trying on, then haggling, till I finally walked out with a band I was happy with for a price I was comfortable with.

Blondie Boudoir: A++
I had never heard of Boudoir pics until I started researching different wedding vendors. I priced out a few photographers and ruled out having them taken due to price alone. I found out about Blondie from some fellow LIW brides and upon meeting her, I felt like we had been friends for years. She spent over an hour talking with me, showing examples of her work, and explained how a typical shoot would go. I was sold before our appointment ended. I booked my shoot, started picking out outfits, and before you knew it, the day was upon us. Still nervous and a little apprehensive about the experience, I tried my best and I can't express enough how comfortable Alex made me feel. Again, I felt like we were old besties, and the way she explains as she goes, and how to pose, it was beyond the best experience in my life. I walked away feeling good about myself and was so glad I chose to do it.
Fast forward a few weeks later when I received my disc of pictures in the mail. Talk about blown away!!! I couldn't believe it was me in these pictures. I never even looked at myself that way until I saw the final product.
I waited almost an entire year before giving my album to DH but the night he received it he was taken back! His first reaction was 'Aww, is this my beautiful wife', followed up by 'These were taken by a girl, right?' lol
I will recommend Blondie to anyone out there, bride or not. This was an experience every girl should have in their lifetime!

Black Forest Bakery - wedding cake: A
My wedding cake came as part of my package from my reception hall. We went for a tasting at Black Forest and was not disappointed. They had many styles of cakes to choose from and they were open to ideas or inspiration. The day of our cake was beautiful and it tasted great. We did cut into our top cake earlier than our year mark and they did forget to make the top tier different from the rest of the cake but it was still good.

Hampton Pipes - Victor: A
From the beginning of our planning, DH wanted a bag piper at our wedding. I wanted to surprise him the day of, so for 2 years, every time DH mentioned it, I told him no and that we couldn't afford it. I found Victor through gigmaster.com. His pricing was comparable to others, but he was local to me so I decided to meet with him. He had me come to his house one Saturday morning and after going over his contract and pricing, he took me to his backyard where he played for about a good half hour. It was one of the nicest most peaceful moments of my summer. Just me and a bag piper, sipping coffee on a nice summer morning listening to him play. I left feeling so excited for the big day, now I just had to keep this secret to myself.
Victor showed up the day of on time and in his traditional kilt and attire. The moment my DH heard him play, tears came to his eyes. The moment I had been waiting for!!! He was so excited and I think I really pulled off the surprise.
DH is the Irish one, so I had no idea when it came to songs what I wanted played. I explained this to Victor and he came up with his own play list and we enjoyed every song he played.
This was definitely my extra splurge but it was worth every penny. All in all it was still an inexpensive gift and DH will always remember pulling up in the limo and hearing the sound of bag pipes.

Mama Mia's - rehearsal dinner: A
While setting up our hotel block, I had asked about a local restaurant. Selfishly since I knew the night of the wedding I would be at the hotel, my plan was to have the RD close to the hotel, so I could drop my car that night, take the limo the next day and my car would be at the hotel for the day after the wedding.
DH's parents offered to throw our rehearsal dinner but had asked for some suggestions also. Mama Mia's was right next to the hotel where we blocked, but we wanted to check it out first. DH and I went for dinner one evening and we really liked the atmosphere (and private party room) and the food was delicious. We told the in laws about the restaurant, but told them they could pick wherever and did not have to go to that place.
A few months out, my father in law went to book that date. Pricing was reasonable, nice menu was provided, and the food that night was great. I had no direct dealings with them but my in-laws had no complaints. The staff was on point and they were great about keeping us on track for time and they were one of the first places to open after the hurricane so there were no worries about finding a new location.
The restaurant is not much to look at from the outside but inside is very quaint and as stated, the food is delicious! Our out of town guests were complimenting the 'nice Italian' meal they had.

Hilton Garden Inn Islip - hotel block: A
I had heard from some brides that the hotel block was one of the hardest things to check off and my experience was nothing less. There was no 'close' hotel to my RH so I started looking in a few mile radius. I visited 5 different hotels and called over 20. Pricing from the hotels was all over the place, some ranging from $99 all the way to $250 a night. The first 3 hotels were not great, either the hotel was super outdated or some were showing me rooms that smelled like mold. Last on my list was Hilton Garden Inn and I should have made it my first. The hotel was being renovated as I booked, but I could see the progress and they showed me the newer rooms that would be totally renovated by the time we stayed. I worked with Christina who was a doll from the beginning. She worked with me on the price and I got a free room for booking so many in my block. I checked in frequently to see how many rooms I had blocked and what was left, and Christina was great every time. Even though the hotel was booked due to the hurricane, she still tried getting my family rooms so we could get ready for the wedding.
I did not hear of anyone having issues with the hotel. Some of our out of town guests stayed multiple days and liked their stay. We had an informal after party at the hotel bar and the staff was amazing. We never told them we were having a party or payed for any kind of alcohol package but the staff kept offering DH & I free drinks as the bride and groom. The hotel was very nice and their service was great. We stayed for the continental breakfast the next day which was nice but pretty typical of hotel breakfast.

Bayard Cutting Arboretum: A for picture spot, C for dealing with getting permit.
The first time DH took me here I was blown away by the scenery. Booking our RH at Timber Point, it was a no brainer on where to take pictures as it is right down the road. Because we were having a morning ceremony and taking pictures beforehand, I needed to be at the Arboretum at 9am but they don't open till 10am. For most people, they do not accommodate. I called them AND physically went there to see if they would make an exception and was told no both times. We had no issues with paying the permit fee as well as the parking fee, we just needed to be in the park an hour early. Thank god my MIL has worked for the parks for years and she was able to call in a favor to have them open the gates early for us. We were worried about damage in the storm but knew the place was big enough and we could find a spot for the pictures. They called us the day before to make sure we were still on and they were waiting for us when we got there. They did have some damage and a few down trees, but we had plenty of spots to take beautiful pictures and I am so happy it all worked out.

Honeymoon: Secrets Punta Cana Dominican Republic: A++
We stopped in at our local Liberty Travel one day and talked to our agent about our HM options. We explained a little about the type of vacation we were looking for and after giving us a few places to go home and look at we settled on Secrets Resorts. The vacation was right within our budget and we had heard great things about DR. This was our first all inclusive adult only trip and I don't think we will ever go back to anything else. Not only was the resort gorgeous and the scenery beautiful, the staff was so attentive. We really felt like King & Queen from the moment we arrived and felt that everyone was tripping over themselves to help us. We received a honeymoon package with our trip which included a private beach dinner, couples massage, breakfast in bed and a few other things. They really know how to make you feel at home but still enjoying the vacation of your dreams. Not sure if we will go back to DR for our anniversary (as we want to see other parts of the world) but will continue to stay at Secrets Resorts all around.

Post Hurricane wedding - 11/3/2012 - Timber Point County Club, Creations Music, Once Upon an Event, Towers Flowers & more!!

Great review! I was a bridesmaid at my sisters wedding at Timber Point and loved it. I'll definitely be checking out Blondie too.

FH and I are going to Punta Cana in April and I keep hearing horror stories about the airport. How was it?

Thanks, Blondie was amazing! Definitely do it!!

Airport wasn't that bad. I had heard long waits and all but we were in & out pretty quick. Just a lot of paperwork since it's an intl flight.

Good luck!

HI! Went to the bakery about 4 or 5 months prior. Ask them for samples and they'll let you try anything you want.

You will not be disappointed in your DOC's...maybe only that you didn't have them the entire day! LOL

We did one excursion while we were there. We set it up in the lobby, they have a person who handles that and they tell you about it upon check in.
We opted for a floating dock in the middle of the ocean that included 14 different activities. The cost was extra but the hotel gave us a discount. Great excursion except we got stuck in a tropical storm in the middle of the ocean on a floating dock!! LOL
I always say go snorkeling if you haven't done it. Lots of fun and good experience!

Good luck!

Thanks! I don't have a current quote, I booked her almost 2 years ago. I can only tell you that it was the most reasonable quote I got from everyone I contacted for B-pics. Totally worth it. I know she can email you pricing if you shoot her an email. Good luck!
