LOL this website is very funny. Hope they don't delete my review for this but I must say I'm not a big fan of this site. I'm not even going to bother grading it. The site is helpful in some respects such as asking for advice using FM of course, however if your review of a specific vendor is less than favorable it will be deleted therefore giving the illusion that all vendors (who are members of this site) only have great reviews. Note I went with mostly vendors who were not members here due to the fact that I saved money. The members tend to be more expensive IMO


In the Mix DJ- A++++
I cant say enough about this vendor. I don't recall the DJ's name however once I do find out ill edit the post. We went with the DJ/ MC combo to save money and he did not disappoint. The DJ was awesome and kept everyone on the dance floor all night. He also did the ceremony music which was beautiful. I would recommend this vendor to anyone looking to save money and not compromise on quality. Plus they were a preferred vendor which was a plus.

Florist
Diva Flowers (Albertson) A++++
Another amazing vendor. I'm not a girly girl if you will and I know absolutely nothing about flowers. I knew I wanted a tree branch type centerpiece being that the wedding was in the fall and this place specializes in tree branch centerpieces. Mackey was wonderful. I went in there knowing nothing and she asked for my colors and put together beautiful centerpieces (tall and short) and bouquets. Note there was basically no input from me. She made the tables look beautiful. I recommend her for anyone trying to save money as this vendor definitely did not break the bank and I received a wonderful deal for the package.

Kholoud's Beauty- A++++++
This vendor was absolutely amazing. Zoraida was initially booked to do only my makeup however something very inconvenient came up at the last minute and she was able to do my hair as well. She was an absolute lifesaver. She came to the hotel to do both and I looked beautiful afterword.

NYC Style Limo- C
I worked with the owner of this company who was great to work with. I had a total of two 18 pass escalade limos (3hr packages) to take us to the venue (one picking up bridal party from the hotel and the other picking up family in Queens) and another 18 pass escalade picking us up at the end of the night. I got this all for under $900. I switched things around so much and he was very accommodating. On the day of, the limo was early to pick up family from Queens. My limo on the other hand was an hour late and had the nerve to call me yelling and screaming as I'm getting my hair and makeup done that he can't find the hotel. He expected me to give him directions when his job is to drive the limo. I passed the phone to my bridesmaids and he began yelling at them also as if it was our fault he was lost. Not only was he lost but instead of trying to find the location, he sat in new hyde park for thirty minutes as he was trying to call me then as I'm on the phone with him he's yelling that he's been trying to call me for thirty minutes (as if it's my fault again) Nevertheless words were exchanged. My husband must have had words with him because he called me about a half hour later stating he arrived and was apologizing profusely. When it was time to leave the hotel, he didn't have the address to the hall which I quickly rectified by giving him the address. Then when we are about five minutes down the street from the venue this guy stops in the middle of the street (note Roslyn has very narrow streets) to tell us that we are there when we weren't. Note he didn't get out of the car to say this and was yelling from the front seat. Anyway we told him to keep driving and he almost missed the turn. He reports to us after we arrive that he will just wait until the reception is over so that he is not late returning. We agreed. Once it was time to leave the driver was to drive half the limo to the hotel (Hampton Inn Garden City) and the other half to Queens as per our contract. The driver stated that he would not be driving to Queens. I was trying to get in touch with the owner at that point however could not get through as it was almost 1am. The driver at this time had the nerve to tell us that we were pissing him off. After going back and forth with this guy my new husband gets into a fight with the driver (verbal) causing all of the groomsmen to jump out of the limo. In the end the Queens portion of the limo had to get rides with family and friends while the hotel portion was driven via limo to the hotel. I complained to the owner in the AM and the owner reported that the driver was supposed to be taking my family to Queens as per the contract and the driver basically did his own thing. We worked out a deal that when we take our honeymoon we will get a complementary ride to and from the airport. In terms of paying to use them in the future, eh I don't know. I don't want to penalize an entire company for one driver however the possibility of using them again is not good.

Silverfox Photo/ Video- A+++ (TBA didn't receive either as of yet)
This vendor was great. Nothing much to say as of yet. Our photographer was Chris he was very laid back and cool. I enjoyed his personality. The videographer was great as well. I don't remember his name which is probably a good thing. Ill post more when I receive my photos and video.

DK Bridal and Tuxedo Center A+++
I loved this vendor. Diane (I'm assuming she's partial owner) was great. I actually first came in December 2012 to try on some dresses however being the picky person I am I didn't purchase anything at that time. I ended up going to a couple of more places. One stop was the Wedding Center in Floral Park. I found the dress I wanted there however I heard horrible reviews and the staff was very rude to my bridesmaids and family members that were with me. Not to mention the price of the dress was way overpriced from what my research showed. Anyway I went back to DK Bridal and Diane remembered me each time I went into the store. She did not have the dress I tried on in stock to try on however she was able to order the dress. She ensured my dress was in on time and altered to my liking. The alterations did not break the bank and neither did the cost of the dress. The bridesmaids purchased their dresses from here as well and they did not disappoint. All of the girls dresses fit beautifully. I will definitely shop here again.
My day of jewelry came from here as well. (necklace and earrings)

Invitations- A++++
ETSY- Uniquelyyourspd
This vendor was just great. I saw a very unique wedding invitation which encompassed both mine and FH's jobs and went with my theme and she was able to produce them. We had to work through the mail since she's based out of Washington however the final product exceeded my expectations. And again these invitations did not break the bank. Not only that you can order as much as you think you'll need. No need to order in sets of 25 and if you do run out you can always order more.

Save the Dates
Magnetstreet- A+++
They were magnets that went with the theme of my DH's job. They were easy to order and came in sufficient time. No complaints here.

Garter
ETSY- Elegantgartershop
Again great. Garter arrived within the week. Very unique and encompassed my FH's job. (pics will come soon)

Shoes
Amazon- Colorifics Tori
OMG these shoes were great for the occasion. The heel was not too high (as I absolutely cannot walk in heels) They matched the dress beautifully and they photographed very well. BUT at the end of the night my feet were so sore I had to remove the shoes. But hey they got the job done.

Cake Topper
A gift from one of my bridesmaids. She used ETSY. It was a monogram with a rhinestone initial of our new (well my new) initial as well as our initials for our first names. It was very beautiful ill upload a picture.

Tuxedo's
Men's warehouse- various locations (green acres, bell blvd, westbury etc)
No complaints the tuxedos fit and were on time. The only complaint shared by all of the guys was the shoes hurt like hell. Again had to be removed by the end of the night. Other than that everything went very smooth. I went in July, set up a wedding account, everyone was fitted at the men's warehouse closest to them. They picked up and dropped off their tuxedo's and that was that.

Unity Sand Set

They didn't have the set I wanted in the store however working with the online purchase was smooth. The set came engraved and I had a coupon which made it cheaper. I purchased the sand from amazon to make the set complete.

Bridesmaid's gifts
Things Remembered- Green Acres
I purchased two wine glasses each for the bridesmaids. Things remembered was great for engraving the wine glasses. They had a special going on at the time so money was saved.

Grooms Men gifts

Each grooms man received cufflinks of their favorite superhero/ sports team. They were delivered within one week and looked great on the groomsmen. The best man received his early and ended up leaving his home but hey everything still turned out ok.

Swan Club A++++++++++++++++
This vendor was absolutely amazing. They exceeded my expectations. We were booked in the garden room and I loved that it was separate from everything else. There are two bars and separate bathrooms so one does not have to deal with another bridal party. The bridal suite was separate also and very spacious. ( If it were to rain this bridal suite would not be able to be used as it is separate and you have to walk outside to get to it) The grounds were beautiful at night and the weather was great. Stephanie was my BM and she was very laid back as was I so honestly we didn't speak much as I didn't have many questions but it worked. She was available the very few times I needed to speak with her and answered my questions right away. When it was time to put together the menu I was contacted. We ended up doing a food tasting and menu on the same day. On the day of, My Matre'D Agim was awesome as well. I loved him. He always ensured me and DH had drinks in our hands and were comfortable. The bridal attendant was great as well. The entire staff was so nice and accommodating. We felt like celebrities all night. I have serious food allergies and they ensured I did not come into contact with certain foods all night. The food was amazing and I can attest as I actually made time to eat both cocktail hour food and dinner. My guests reported that they enjoyed the food as well.
The hall has uplighting included in the hall so I saved money there on the DJ (granted I used a preferred vendor so the uplighting might actually cost money) No complaints beautiful night. I was not rushed at the end as I was the last party there. And the staff ensured we received all of our belongings as well as the top of our cake.
The ceremony space was beautiful at night. They provide the flowers and lighting and they are just amazing. The pictures will speak for themselves.
As far as the cost. This was a very well priced venue for all that is included. They will not disappoint.

i saw your DJ company at a friends wedding, they are really good and i hear they are inexpensive too!

A lot of websites delete negative reviews. I wouldn't make that claim if it had not happened to me personally. I posted a less than favorable review about a photographer and his poor customer service and it was deleted the very next day.
