UPDATED: 11.15.08 My Very detailed Review of: Fox Hollow, Duet, Double Diamond Limos, Five Star DJs, PWP Florists, Madison Florists, Doris Fashions, Valentina's, Barron's, and many more!

A little disclaimer. I am/did work on this during the entire planning process because I didn't want to leave anything out. So if the language isn't always consistent (present tense/past tense, etc) I am apologizing in advance! All of the 'wedding day' pictures are non-pro and zap shots from our DJs. When I get my pros I'll update with them as well.

LIWeddings.com = A++++++++++
I don't think I would have done 1/10th of all the extra touches if I didn't get the ideas from all of you ladies. Occasional drama here and there, but no community is without that. All in all, I am so happy I stumbled upon this site!

STD Magnets = B+
DIY & Vistaprint.com
We didn't want to spend alot on this these and all the ones I saw online were a little pricey. So, I designed a very simple layout and we printed them with Vistaprint.com. They were a little smaller and thinner than I thought, but they served their purpose. They were about the size of a business card. The turn around time was about a week and the price was fabulous! The reason for a B and now an A is, the coloring wasn't as bright as I had hoped. We'd definitely use them again, with the exception of getting the larger options and use a brighter design too.

The Engagement Session = A+ (for pics) A+ (hair and makeup)
Photos by Sam of Duet; Hair & makeup by Greg & Jovi from Bruno's Salon & Spa
Sam was our photographer and I can't even tell you how much I fell in love with him. He is so sweet, helpful and fun to work with! We took the pictures on the Brooklyn side of the Verrazano Bridge. It was so hot but he made it a blast.

I had my hair and makeup done because I'm a tom-boy and would have totally rocked a ponytail with lip gloss if it was up to me. I just felt since we were using the pics for our sign in board and part of our favor, I wanted to look good! lol

Bridal Shower = A
Oriental Plaza, Staten Island, NY
If you ever get the chance to eat there, do it! The food is phenomenal. Again, this was a family connection. The owner of the restaurant is a family friend of DH's and they've been going to his restaurants for about 18 years. Since my mom was not well and for other reasons, I actually planned and executed the bridal shower. It was a little frustrating at times because I saw how wonderful all of my fellow 08ers showers were and how surprised and grateful they were. I feel a little gipped but it was a fun day nonetheless. The food at this restaurant is amazing and the staff is so helpful, kind and on-the-ball. I highly recommend their house special rice =)

Bridal Shower Photos = A+
Stak Images, Brooklyn, NY
I heard about Steve and Tak from a fellow LIWer and as soon as I saw the pictures I knew I wanted them involved in the 'wedding' somehow! lol This was how! They were attentive and helpful. Steve was the person who I was most in contact with and true sweetheart doesn't come close to saying how great he is. The day of the shower they arrived on time and didn't miss a beat, taking pictures of everyone and everything! They weren't intrusive and a pleasure to work with. They will be the first photographers I call for everything!!!

Bridal Gown = B
Doris Fashions, Brooklyn, NY
A year before DH even proposed, I was looking in a magazine and found this amazing Mon Cheri Bridals dress. I stored it away in the back of my mind, and when it finally came time to have to shop for my wedding dress, I really wanted this gown. In the beginning, I ran into a huge problem, I couldn't find a sample of it anywhere. I went to 5 different salons and tried on about 20 dresses. I actually found 2 that I really loved but I never got that 'this is the one' feeling everyone talks about.

I went into Doris Fashions with my mom and grandmother. From the outside it isn't much and the racks are very crowded but the saleswoman, Lana, was awesome. She was multi-tasking the entire time but we never felt abandoned or anything of that sort. One of the dresses I loved was actually from there. However when I asked about this specific dress, she didn't have a sample of it. I was tired of searching for it and was set on buying the one I found there. Lana, said even though she would order that dress for me, she highly recommended I continue to search for the gown I inquired about. She carried the designer so even if she didn't have the sample, she could get me the dress.

So, I listened to her and searched the rest of Brooklyn for a sample of the dress. I found it!! My mom and I knew it was the right one as soon as we saw it. I was 100% sure as soon as I had it on and saw my mom cry. So, we went back to Lana at Doris Fashions to order it. She gave us a fabulous price and the alternations with any bustle I want, for a flat fee. My dress come in 4 months after I ordered it. My fittings were very easy and didn't hit any problems.

The day of the wedding the dress was very disappointing. My bustle didn't hold up one third of the evening. I was so upset but didn't let it get me down. We tried to pin it 3-4 times but it was frustrating so I finally decided to completely unbustle it and just hold it. A little annoying but it is what it is.

Bridal Accessories
Veil and Haircomb from Barron's Tri-county = A
SIL and I went there the first weekend in Sept. and my veil was done the last weekend. I was able to pick the tulle and lace I wanted, the comb size, placement, etc. All for $200. I was quoted 3-4-5 times that amount from other places. The comb was fabulous and was perfect for my hair style. The veil was exactly what I wanted when I got it but I started to have second thoughts when I saw it with my dress. Not Barron's fault, mine. I felt the veil was a bit too light for my dress. My mom, cousin and friend all assured me it wasn't! The day of the wedding I changed my mind about the color difference. I couldn't be happier with it and I got so many compliments.

Shoes and Purse from Sandy's Shoes = A
SIL and I were there the same day as Barrons. It was a little crazy b/c its not that big of a place but it emptied out a little bit and once it did we were helped. They got everything for us quickly and offered a lot of good advice (solicited advice. lol SIL is very indecisive). The purse and shoes matched my dress perfectly. My shoes were SOOOOO comfy!

Earrings, Bracelet and bo-k brooch from Whiteaisle.com = A
I learned about this site from LIW. I am soooo thankful! I am in love with everything I bought. They came so quick and exactly what I had hoped. I ended up not wearing the bracelet because my 'borrowed' was a bracelet fro MIL.

Bridesmaids Dresses = A-
Valentina's Bridal, Brooklyn, NY
I had a very larger bridal party (13 girls) and they all range in size, height and finances. I needed to find a dress to suit them all physically as well as not break their banks. My MOH and then FSIL took a day and played dress up with about 30 dresses. The first place we went to was Valentina's and the salesgirl was a total nimrod. She gave new meaning to the word, space cadet. She pulled one dress for us and it wasn't available in the length or colors I wanted, which I was very clear about as soon as we got there. lol. The 3 of us, MOH, SIL and I pulled all the dresses, pinned them, fixed the trains, etc. We saw 2 dresses there I liked, but I wanted to see other places. So we looked around in Brooklyn to Maid to Order, Kelly's Kreations and Sposabella. I picked my top 3 dresses from the various places and let my girls vote on which one they liked the best. Very democratic. They happened to all pick the dress from Valentina's, even though I was secretly wishing they would go with Maid to Order because they were phenomenal from the start!) When I begrudgingly went back to organize the order, we had another sales girl, Danielle and she was FABULOUS: helpful, gave her honest option, quick to assist. Everything a consultant should be. We ended up with all BIll Levkoff designs. The MOH wore #454, the BMs wore #966 and the Jr. BMs wore #96602, all in euro sable with euro champagne sashes. They weren't expensive as far as the dress was concerned, but the alterations were a little pricey for my taste. We ordered them in May and they came in Sept. All except my sister's which came in October because her's had a bolero jacket.

Flower girl attire = B- (Butterflyxc.com)/ A+ (SoSweetBoutique.com)
Dresses and headpieces from Butterflyxc.com/Coats from SoSweetBoutique.com
I had 3 flower girls, all cousins of DH. They were all born during DH's and my courtship so I've literally have gotten to see them from birth. I always heard the bride bought the flower girl's attire, so with 3 girls I had to be frugal. Well, thanks to my DOC and LIW, I had about butterflyxc.com who is also an eBay vendor (butterflyxc). The dresses were 1/3rd the price I was seeing in brick and mortar shops. We ordered then the 3rd week in August and got them one week later. Three of the pick-ups on one of the dresses weren't there so i had to bring it to a local tailor and they fixed it. It was cheaper than having to pay for shipping back and forth. We also got the tiaras and they were a lot smaller than the picture showed so I gave them to the flower girls as part of their gifts. We ordered 3 flower headpieces instead.

Because we were getting married in November I felt it was best for the girls to get them a coat too, as a 'just in case'. Again, the brick and mortar stores were pricing this EXACT coat at 3 times the price. (same style # and designer). So I searched it on Google, and found SoSweetBoutique.com, based out of FL. I called and it looked and sounded reputable enough that we ordered the coats for the girls the same day as the dresses. They came 2 weeks later in perfect condition. The weather was so nice though that they didn't need them.

Tuxedos = A++
Classie Tuxedos, Brooklyn, NY
DH used this company for his friend's wedding in 2006 and they had such a pleasant experience we decided to go with them as well. Their prices were also comparable to every where else DH has had to rent tuxs from in the past. All of the tuxedos came in, on time without any issues. Plus they were AWESOMELY understanding when I changed the styles 3 times. They smiled and helped me make a final decision I was happy with. Tip for those who use/look into them: DO NOT try and find your tux on a Thursday! That is their scheduled pick up day so its rather busy. Go on a Monday or Tuesday (or a Sunday morning) its so quiet and calm and they can give you 150% of their attention. Its a small location so Thursdays are a bit crowded.

Ceremony Location = A
Shrine Church of St. Bernadette, Brooklyn, NY
St. Bernadette's was DH's parish from birth. When DH and I started dating, even though I called another parish home, we attended St. Bernadette's. Its a very small church but full of love and has a very close knit community. There was no question when we got engaged where we were going to say our vows. Due to our joint volunteerism and DH's family relationship with the pastor, we had a unique situation. We were automatically put in the reservation book. When we finally met with the pastor at the time, Msgr. Romano, it was a very quick meeting, basically because he knew us so well. All charges were waived. During the engagement however, Msgr. Romano was transferred to another pastor so Fr. Joe took over for him in regards to the planning, however Msgr. still performed the ceremony. Fr. Joe is very funny and made our final meeting very enjoyable.

Ceremony Music = A
Sr. Mary Beata Gerrity (based out of Freeport, NY)
This was another 'connection'. Sr. Beata has been a friend/mentor of my mom's for over 30 years. I grew up with her as a surrogate aunt/grandmother and always wanted her to sing at my wedding. If you are big in the NYC Irish community you know of Sr. Beata. She is an amazing singer and music teacher. She taught at St. John's Prep in Queens, NY and was very big in the Rockville Center area as well. She's a very difficult woman to reach, even for close friends and family. Correlating the church schedule and Sr.'s schedule wasn't easy all the time, but well worth it in the end. She ended up singing the Irish Wedding Song, Ava Maria and Lady of Knock.

Photography & Videography = A++ (day of) A+ (proofs/finished product)
Duet Photo & Video, Huntington Station, NY
Pictures were at the top of our “most important” list so it was, by far, the hardest vendor to find. We reviewed a lot of companies’ portfolios and narrowed it down to 3-4 companies. Then, the interviewing began and companies really didn’t like me. I had a check list of the things I wanted that were non-negotiable and if the company couldn’t or wouldn’t give them to us, meetings were ended extremely abruptly. Thankfully we met with the very highly recommended and even more talented personal of Duet Photo & Video. Not only was their portfolio outstanding, their prices were very reasonable and most importantly, I’m was getting everything I wanted. The best part is: we came in substantially under budget. Our first meeting with Eric was great, he was very informative, helpful and had great suggestions about our photo locations. The shining star in the company is definitely Sue. She handled all the back and forth emails quickly and answered all my questions. We signed our contract in the NYC office and they were just as helpful and informative as Eric.

The day of the wedding everyone was professional, friendly and on time. They went item by item on my 'must take' list to ensure they got every shot I wanted. I was floored by their attention to detail. Beyond the formal shots I NEVER saw them all night but everyone said they where snapping shots all night.

Here is a link to 500 of our 600 edited pics! http://picasaweb.google.com/Fascianella

Here are a few of my favs:

My SIL

DJ = A+++
Five Star Entertainment, Brooklyn, NY
Another family 'connection' pays off. DH's family has been using this company for years and they do an amazing job each time, always different and always spectacular. We met with them about a month after we were engaged and they gave us about 30% discount. They were also very understanding when I explained all of the typical strobe and light shows couldn't be done because my mom is prone to seizures. They put it in the contract and assured me that it would never be an issue. They also included discounted mood lighting and zap shots to replace the strobes. Our final meeting with them was so easy going. I'd start to speak and they'd finish my thought flawlessly! We were totally on the same page about music, timing, etc.

The day of the wedding they didn't miss a beat = literally! Everything was perfect. They played EVERY song on my must play list. They had the reception hoppin' and everyone raved about them. I couldn't recommend them more if I had too!

Limousines = A+++
Double Diamond Limos, Brooklyn, NY
Family connection again. (Do you see a pattern forming!) This company is so professional yet friendly that I seriously can't find anything wrong with them. I've used them for other events that when it came to picking a limo company, there was no question. DD has an amazing limo bus which is exactly what I wanted since our bridal party was so large. We reviewed the limo bus and fell in love. About 2 months before the wedding we actually added 2 more limos (one to bring our parents to the hall and one to get us all from the hotel the following day.) It was quick, easy and painless.

Centerpiece Florist = A
Richard Biancavilla of Perfect Wedding Planners, Woodbury, NY
We wanted something very simple but elegant for our centerpieces for a modest amount of money. We went to a few florists and were quoted anywhere from $125-$175, which I wasn't paying! We were given a $10 credit per centerpiece from Fox Hollow's house florist, so I figured I would at least get a quote from Richard for our centerpieces. When he quoted me $85 each and then with the credit, $75, I was very intrigued. We went out to the Fox Hollow to meet with him where he showed us a sample and I was immediately sold. It was exactly what I wanted and at a price I was happy with. We signed our contract!

The day of the wedding I was very happy with the finished product!

Personals & Church Florist = A-
Madison Florist, Brooklyn, NY
Would you be shocked to know this was another connection? Nah, didn't think so. DH went to H.S. with the owner, who is be far one of the nicest guys I've come to know. George was extremely knowledgeable, listened to my 'vision' and helped me achieve it flawlessly. I changed my mind a few times and each time he rolled with the punches and made me feel not like a crazy bridezilla but rather assumed me it was normal.

The day of the wedding I was very happy with everything with one tiny exception - my grandmother's corsage. It was supposed to be either magnolia or white orchid. They delivered orange roses. If my grandma was the typical grandmother it wouldn't have mattered but she isn't, so it did. Thankfully, they recognized the mistake and had a new one waiting for her at the ceremony. But my mom come up with a faster solution. They sent one too many tiny bo-ks. So my mom gave my grandma her corsage and took the extra bo-k.

All of the bridesmaids had cream hydrangeas bo-ks. The Jr. bridesmaids' were smaller then the bridesmaids and the bridesmaids were a little smaller than my maid of honor.

My bo-k was the classic FTD bo-k. It was also the perfect size. I'm a short girl and I didn't want it to overpower me.

The church arrangements were big, plush and all fall colors. Exactly what I wanted

Hair & Makeup = D (leading up to the day)/ A (day of)
Bruno's Salon & Spa, Brooklyn, NY (Greg for hair and Jovi for makeup)
After using Bruno's for a friend's wedding, I was sold that they were going to do my hair and makeup. For my friend's wedding, I showed up at the salon after suffering with a 101 fever for a week. My skin was blotchy and irritated. They made me look not only human but GORGEOUS. I started to go to them on a regular basis for my manis & pedis too.

After my trial I made a series of appointments for the week prior to the day of an then for the day of itself. When I made them it was uber busy and the receptionist wasn't too bright so I tried contacting them during my busy schedule to confirm all of the appointments and clarify the pricing list. I emailed - no answer. We faxed and the receptionist kept answering it! Seriously. Finally, FH got a hold of them and they said they'd call back. They did - during dinner. I went over each appt with the owner himself, finalized dates, times and amounts. He requested a 50% deposit and I said no problem I'd get it to them as soon as I could, probably the 1-2 weeks before. When I made the original appt there was NO mention of the deposit so I hadn't budgeted the cost up front.

I had an appt on Nov. 7th @ 10am for a facial and deep conditioning treatment. Unfortunately since I had to go upstate to get my mom and grandmother I called at 7am before work and left a message explaining that I wouldn't be there for my appt and why. The following day I get a nasty message on my cell from the same receptionist saying I missed a facial appt that day for a facial and that if they don't hear from me by end of business they'd cancel my wedding day appts. I was pissed. I was upstate dealing with my mom being sick and had already asked a friend to drop the money off for me since he is by the salon all of the time. He forgot and didn't drop it off when I initially gave it to him. So for that, I take full responsibility. The problem is - I never made an appt. for Nov. 8th and I would never schedule a facial 2 days in a row. That's derma-suicide. I called the salon back, asked to speak to the owner. We cleared up the issues or so I thought. I assured him the deposit would be there be the end of the day.

My next appt., Nov. 12th went fine and I confirmed my Friday Nov. 14th appt for mani, pedi, massage and hair straightening for 12:15pm. They called me at 11:30am and said my appt. was actually for 11am. I was so pissed! I was also told that hair straightening was no charge b/c it was the hair dresser's request not mine. I was charged and since I had another appt I didn't have the time to wait for the owner so I could dispute it.

The day of the wedding they were on the ball and even though they really did make us all beautiful, it didn't make up for all of the aggravation of week before. I don't know if I'd recommend them to others.

DOC = A++++++++++++++++++++
Christine Viola of Exquisite Affairs Productions, Brooklyn, NY
I've known Christine since 1998. We hung out every weekend basically for a few years and always adored each other. When I heard she started EAP, it was a no brain-er that she was the one I wanted for my DOC. True story: months before DH proposed I emailed Christine and asked her to hold our wedding date as a just in case. After DH popped the question, I contacted Christine and 'pencil hold' became sealed in ink! She helped with countless decisions, allowing me to give numerous choices and her narrowing them down for me. It was great to have someone's ear. For our final meeting she sat with DH and I for an hour going over every single detail and answering all of our questions.

The day of the wedding she was early and started working as soon as she got there. She helped everyone and anyone. She had us on schedule and every flowed like a swiss clock. She bustled all of my girls' dresses, she helped me use the bathroom, she made me eat, fixed my hair, organized my wedding party army, she calmed my nerves and laughed at me!!! lol She is AWESOME and I can't recommend her ENOUGH!!!

Cocktail Napkins, Candy Bar Bags & Matchbooks = A
ForYourParty.com
I heard about them on LIW and when I looked into them I saw their prices were very reasonable. Add on that I could give them my personal design and they'd print it - I was sold. I talked DH into it and voila!

Bridal Party Arch Mini Bats = A+
ministicks.com
I heard about this company from ILOVEBRIAN2008. She had mini hockey sticks. I'd been looking for small baseball bats for about 6 months. I figured it couldn't hurt to check out the website. I'm so glad I did because I found mini bats! I contacted the company and asked about pricing for 25 personalized mini-bats. They got right back to me and the price was right! I spoke to DH about it and he was right on board!

All DIYs & semi-DIYs
Invitations= C & A++ : We ordered all the materials from cardsandpockets.com. I used Adobe Photoshop to design the invitation. It was so much fun. My mom really wanted thermography, which obviously I couldn't do myself, so we sent them out to a friend of her's who was supposed to print all the pieces in brown thermography which to make the invitations 'pop.' However, (this is where the C comes into play) when we get the invites they were not printed in thermography. He refunded us for the difference though and I still love them. The company is precisionprintandphoto.com and very easy to work with. The A++ is for our DOC, Christine, who printed our RSVP envelopes, mailing envelopes and adhered the matting & invite to the pocketfolds because I got backed up with my mom being sick. She was so helpful and did a fabulous job! Since my mom wanted to be a put of the process, FH and I bought all the invites up to Binghamton and she helped us stuff the pocketfolds, tied the ribbons on with the 'tags' that acted like an inner envelope and stuffed the envelopes. It was a family affair, even grandma helped.

Ceremony Programs= A+ : This was one of my favorite DIYs. I created it in MS Publisher. We bought the inside cardstock from Staples and the brown cover cardstock from cardsandpockets.com. We bought the gold ribbon from papermart.com. On the inside cover and in the 'Thank You' section we added pictures from our engagement session. They were a little tedious but it's because I'm totally OCD.

Ribbon Wands= B+ : Our church doesn't allow petals, rice, bubbles, butterflies, etc. So again I turned to LIW and found a picture of ribbon wands. I loved the idea!! We ordered the personalized ribbon and wands from myweddingfavors.com. They came within a week and the quality was very good. The down side of them was they were very plain. We wanted to add a little something to them so we used thinner ribbon in the opposite colors too that we bought at Michael's.

Aisle Runner= A : I bought a buttercup aisle runner from invitationsbydawn.com. I enlarged and printed our monogram and a quote from MS Publisher, taped it together and outlined it wbith a pencil. Then I colored it in with brown and gold fabric paint from Michael's. It took a LONGGG time b/c I'm a perfectionist but it was so worth it.

Personalized Menus= A+ : I wasn't crazy about the menus provided by the Fox Hollow and I wanted to keep things uniform so we made personalized menus. We bought the ivory linen cardstock from Staples. The gold ribbon, corner puncher and rhinestones from Michael's and brown matting paper from thepapermillstore.com. I designed them on MS Publisher, DH printed and cut them, then I did all additions (ribbon, rhinestones, matting).

CD Favors & Place cards= A : DH bought me a LightScribe CD/DVD burner for Christmas so we utilized it for a part of our favors. We created a CD with all of the spotlight songs from the evening and burned it with a picture from our engagement session. They were a big hit. We inserted a matted donation card inside of the CD case and had it also act as a placecard. We brought the CDs from Amazon.com - cheap, fast, reliable. The CD cases from http://www.sleevetown.com. The brown matting paper and brown strips were left over from the paper we bought for the menus from thepapermillstore.com. The circle paper and business cards were from paperpresentation.com.

Cocktail Hour Newsletter= A : I sent my girls a monthly Bridesmaid newsletter and the guys got an occasional newsletter too. So after seeing a past LIWer's reception newsletter, I thought, what the heck! lol. It was 8 pages, that I designed in MS Publisher. We had a 'Who's Who' of the bridal party, the engagement story, vendor raves, explanation of the CD favor and donation favor, our honeymoon plans, fun facts about DH and I, a thank you to our parents and guests and a few other things. We saved each page as a PDF, uploaded it to Vistaprint.com and printed them as 2-sided flyers. It was so quick and simple. All we had to do was assemble and staple them.

OOT Gable Boxes= A : We ordered the boxes, tissue paper & tulle ribbon from papermart.com. They were very cheap! We put 2 bottles of water, 2 rice krispy treats, 1 bag of chips, 2 packs of gum, 2 chewy bars, 1 bag of crackers all from Costco. I printed the labels and welcome notes myself. All in all it was a fun project, especially because it was something I could let DH help with and not get 10001 'how do I do that' questions. lol. Mom and grandma helped too!

Flower girl Pomanders/Kissing Balls= B : While I saved money making these myself, they took about 3 hours each (I had to make 3 of them). We bought all of our materials from Michael's with a 25% off entire purchase coupon. It was good because we didn't realized the flowers were $6 each stem and we needed 6 of them. The process was EXTREMELY tedious but still a lot cheaper than buying them from the florist.

Bridal Party & Parents Gifts
Bridesmaids: We gave them COACH wristlets we got from the outlet at The Crossings in PA. $49 each. It was fast and easy! There is a 3 max. policy, but when I said it was for a bridal party they waived it. We also got them drop earrings from Sandy's Shoes, Massapequa Park, NY. I got their bracelets from rhinestonejewelry.com. I ordered them on a Thursday, they were here the NEXT day. We got their chinese slippers from BeWild.com. Again... ordered on Thursday, here the next day! I'm paid for my MOH's hair and makeup as well.

Jr. Bridesmaids: We got them iPod shuffles from Apple, Earrings from Sandy's Shoes, bracelets from rhinestonejewelry.com and various stationery from Michael's.

Flower girls: We gave them dress coats (review above), numerous stationery items from Michael's and Build-A-Bear brides.

Groomsmen: While we were at COACH DH and I fell in love with the card wallets and money clips with AMEX gift cards. We are getting the Best Man additional cuff links.

Parents: For DH's parents we bought them tickets to see Boeing, Boeing on B'way and dinner at their favorite steakhouse. For my parents we are taking them to Niagara Falls for Memorial Day. We also brought them parent handkerchiefs.

Reception Location = A++++++++
Fox Hollow, Woodbury, NY
When DH and I scouted locations we had a very specific look and feel we were going for - something similar to the feeling of a ski resort in Aspen. Well, as soon as we pulled into the Fox Hollow, I was excited. When we walked into the lobby and saw the dark wood and huge fireplace I as basically sold. We have David G. give us the tour and sat down with us for about an hour answering questions, etc. We went and looked at 3 other places the same day, but both of us were hooked on Fox Hollow. At 7pm the same night we called and said we wanted to have our wedding there. Two days later we signed our contract and were treated to a free dinner. From the time of the contract signing, I was in constant contact with Jennifer via email. I had numerous questions and concerns and each email was answered promptly and completely.

We went for our linen and menu meeting a little earlier than most but it was needed due to my mom's illness. So on my 28th birthday actually (7/7) we met with AnnMarie. Finalizing the menu was very easy. When it came to the cake, I gave DH carte blanc on the flavoring. When it came to the design though I had a picture of what I wanted. She took a copy of the picture and sent it off to bakery. A few days after the meeting she called me back and said it was ok but would cost $150 more. Since the entire wedding costs so much, DH said $150 wasn't an issue! lol.

The final week before the wedding I had to chase down Frank to make the final appt. It was a little frustrating but in the end, Denise helped us and it was smooth sailing. FH and my mom dropped off our final payment (gulp!) with all of our 'stuff'. There was A LOT so I gave them an itemized list and instructions and they followed them to the tee! I can honestly say I had no complains about the entire evening. My MD told me his name about 60 times and I seriously couldn't commit it for memory to save my life. My BA was Angela and she was on the ball. I had serious bustle issues and she was there with safety pins, ideas and a smile. They were both very good and I truly don't think the night would have gone as smoothly had they not been there. After the reception they packed up 3 cartons of cookies, 3 of pastries and 1 of our cake (b/c we didn't eat our slices). They walked us to the Inn with all of our stuff and went point by point to be sure we had everything.

As for the Fox Hollow in general I HIGHLY recommend them. They made our wedding special and memorable. I am so pleased we went with them. One tip though - if you are in the Garden Terrace with the oval/long tables (not the round ones) DO NOT put more than 11-12 people on the table. If the people are big or plus sized, max it out at 9-10. We have 14 on some and it was crowded.
