Cocktail and Reception Hours

I have a question my coctail hour is going to start at 8:15pm. It is a friday night wedding. What time do you think is a good time for the Church?

That all depends on who your photographer is and how much time they need for the portraits. We can be really quick @ 15 minutes, although 30 minutes is more reasonable. Some photographers take as long as two hours. Best to check with your photographer to set the schedule. I like to flow right from ceremony to reception and keep the timing tight so there isn't much down time (including a long time posing.)

We love to pose and make people look their best. See photos on our website and see if you like them. Anything worth doing is worth doing right, if that is your style. We usually figure one to one and a half hours for all group photos.

Mark is right as to the fact that every photographer is different and likes to shoot differently. Just remember that a ceremony is usually 1 hr. long and a Mass is usually an 1 1/2 hr. long when you include the receiving line, getting started a few minutes late, etc. Things always seem to happen unexpectedly. Also, remember to leave enough time for traveling.
