How many proofs is enough?
I met with a photographer last week and he told me that they average about 250 pictures. This includes 1 assistant and is for a 5 hour reception and ceremony. Should I worry about how many pictures they take or quality over quantity.

Quality should definitly be the main concern..I personally would rather have 250 great photos then 400 lousy ones. I'm sure that you can tell the photographer to take more then they would normally take, if that's what you prefer. Good luck in whatever you do.

We average 1000-1200 of which 600-800 are 'good' to great and maybe 100 or less are 'lousy.' 300-500 seems to be the average out there. Depends on what you're looking for and how important photography is to you.

How many proofs is enough?
We have been photographing (and videotaping) weddings over 10 years. Our average is 250-350 proofs from which most brides do not make final albums over 200 images. In unusual cases, we have photographed weddings within 60 proofs and over 2000 proofs. Both these extremes are unusual...but available. It is all your choice. You don't want to have the feeling after a wedding about anything (especially photography for a lifetime of memories) that gee, we could have had a v-8. We can help you decide before the wedding what you really need and want and why. This planning will determine what will be photographed, how it will be photographed, and how much it will be photographed. Plan carefully so you are fully satisfied later. After you have decided, ask for what you want so you can get. Consider the time element. You mentiuoned 5 hours. If you include the house with classic bridal portraits, the church, driving, park or beach, etc. you end up realistically getting 8-10-12-or more hours of service. We don't charge extra for full service, but please realize good photographic service also means beginning to end total coverage of you wedding day. No service works harder or longer on your wedding day than Photos of the Heart (photography and/or video)Welcome New Vendors
