How to get $ back from reception site?

I booked a reception hall this past Feb. for a May 2002 wedding. I gave a deposit when I booked, and have also made one payment. Recently, I was given the opportunity to look at another hall which offered me a substantial discount per head. I also loved this new hall. My original hall said they will not return my $ unless they rebook the date. Any suggestions on how to work around this? Thank you.

How to get $ back from reception site?

They most likely will re-book your date because its May unfortunately you have to be patient. Be careful not to cancel before you book with the new reception site.
