Let's be honest. Everyone is looking to save $$$$.There are 2 phrases that I am sure ALL vendors are tired of hearing:
'What is the best price I can get?'
'I am on a tight budget'
Here is a phrase, I hear often from wedding couples at the end of the reception that NEVER gets old,
'Wasn't that the best wedding ever?'
Here is a tip in which EVERYONE (wedding couples & professionals) can benefit from:
Instead of asking for a vendor to price each option out separately. Have your dream wish list in hand and see what they can do for you.
I know I want to accommodate my clients and make their wedding 'the best wedding ever.' All you have to do is ask.
Here is a secret: Non-personnel items (lights & flat screens) are your biggest negotiating tool.
As the owner of East End Entertainment, I love my job and take a tremendous amount of pride in preparing and performing. So the question is what is a fair price.
Here are certain 3 basic facts about the Long Island Wedding industry:
1) There aren't too many people getting married Monday - Thursday.
2) Saturday nights from May through October are prime dates.
3) We are not just only working 4-6 hours.
From my perspective at East End Entertainment, for each wedding we typically put in 20 - 30 hours of work. Here is the breakdown. On the day of a wedding we are working 10-12 hours. We typically arrive 2-3 hours prior to starting the music and have everything set-up usually 45 minutes before we begin. I call it peace of mind. In addition we offer unlimited consultations via, meetings, emails, text, or phone conversations, plus distribute and review outlines for all your hired professionals. Then there is the performing, packing up, traveling, and unloading.
Think about this, why did an all-star like Derek Jeter make more money than his back up short-stop. I am sure you can answer that pretty easily. Same holds with all your elite vendors. I like to use Derek Jeter because he exemplifies the top quality professionalism you are receiving from East End Entertainment.
We only have one chance to get it right.
We hope to hear from you.
All the best,
Michael Variale
