Need tips for staying within budget

I am at the beginning stages of planning my 11/2/02 wedding. I already have my church and reception site booked. I have been looking at photographers and bands. Next is video then the dress search begins. After that I am going to be 'on hold' until after the holidays. Can anyone give me tips on how to stay within budget. I am getting very caught up in all of the wedding stuff and it is hard to remember that this is for one day.

One way to not save is to wait for higher prices. Whatever services you need, the earlier, the better. Summer is slow for bookings, and therefore you can get best prices. Many people wait till after the holidays when prices go up for the next showcase season. Some bride and grooms book our services with a deposit to hold the date and guarantee current prices, but choose the exact amount they wish to spend one week before the wedding....but at the prices from this summer. This is just one way to honestly save money.

One way to stay withing your budget is to write up a list of what vendors you need to use ex:photo, music etc, and write down your maximum for each.
