This might be naive and foolish but can't you call the cops? He's going to listen to them. He sort of stole from you and a lot of other people- he robbed and now, he is skipping town. We know about it and it can be stopped ahead of time. You can't retain a lawyer if he skips town and no mone knows where he is....

Make sure you post on The Knot under every board, especially NYC/Westchester/Long Island boards. Also do it on the Wedding Channel boards.

Were you referred by a hall or any other vendor? You may also want to contact the vendors and let them know what is going on! Hell, post this on the vendor board too!

Thanks for all your help!
Yes, I put in a complaint to BBB. I will also go to the Knot to post a warning there. And I'm goint to Fox right now.

My DH is trying to get through to the Attorney General right now to see about bringing charges against him.
I hope Marc's neighbor will do the right thing and call us when he gets in.

I'm also going to create a Web page so if anyone searches for info on this guy, they will know not to use him. I just wish I had a pic of him, in case he changes his name.

Oh-I forgot to mention that I found out about Marc through a mailing. He bought a list from one of the Bridal Expos I went to or one of the Web sites I registered at (either the Knot or Wedding Channel, I hadn't signed on to LIWeddings until after I met with him). He was not recommended by any hall.
He had an OK brochure and a good product. Who knew he'd be a lying SOB!

If you know anyone who is a cop - or someone in insurance - they may know an investigator who can put a trace on him for virtually nothings or for free -but do it fast. I'm sorry to hear you had this problem. Good luck! Go get him!

I really feel sorry for all the brides who are now stuck for video.
May I suggest you call Wild Rose Video ?
I am more than sure if your date is still available Bill & marie would be more than happy to help you guys out with video.
They are sincerely caring & kind and have packages to fit your budgets. Give them a call, it can't hurt, and as many ladies on here will tell you, they do excellent work and are wonderful people.

So far I haven't been contacted by Problem Solvers or Asa from Channel 4 (by phone or e-mail).

The neighbor didn't call us, either. I wasn't expecting her to call as her allegiance is probably with him.

An investigator is a good idea. I don't know any cops, but will ask around at work.

My DH is going to stop by again tomorrow during the day and if Videojerk has shown no sign of returning, we are going to call the ASPCA about him leaving his dog alone for so long.

The attorney general told us we had to file a written complaint with Consmer Affairs and then Consumer Affairs contacts the attorney general. We know we don't have a lot of time because he could be gone for soon. We're going to file that tomorrow, too (weather permitting).

I booked Videomakers in September for my June wedding....I heard the news from some friends...My Fiance went to that jerks house tonight....he's gone....the house was empty.... He spoke to the neighbor, Marc has planned this move for WEEKS----> he was actually renting the house for the past few weeks b/c it had already been sold and he hadnt moved out......we filled out the FOX 5 email and submitted it...hopefully they reply....I feel terrible for those who dont have their videos...We all need to follow through on finding this guy

I am VERY sorry that this has happened to all of you!!!!!

The worst part is this guy will most likely just declare bankruptcy if he is sued! I hope they bring possibly criminal charges against this guy if he has been taking deposits with no intention of providing his services.
Shell please keep us updated as to whether problem solvers or anyone else will be helping you!

My husband went to Marc's this morning. There were construction guys working on the other part of the house.
Cippy is right. According to the construction guy, Marc sold the house to this construction guy's friend, Don. Don has a court date with Marc tomorrow because Marc was supposed to be out of the house already. If Marc doesn't show up in court, Don will be able to evict him and throw his stuff in the street. The construction guy said he would call us if he saw any tapes. If there are tapes, we will keep them safe and try to contact the rightful owners. My husband is going to the house early tomorrow. Hopefully, this guy Don will call us. The guy at the house didn't want to give us his number.

The dog is still there so we have put in a call to the ASPCA.
If the construction guys weren't there, my DH would have tried to get in. I want to hold that dog for ransom!

Cippy-if you have any luck catching him, let me know.

I still haven't heard from Fox or Channel 4.
