Re: Alert! Videomaker is skipping town!

Did anybody try News 12? Maybe they would be more receptive especially since it seems to have effected a lot of LI brides.

Re: Alert! Videomaker is skipping town!

Anyone who is owed a tape or money from him, please send me an e-mail at [email protected]. He owes me a tape and I live out of state. I have no idea how I am ever going to get anything from him. Anyway, I will start to compile a list and see if we have enough people to make it worth our while to hire a PI to hunt him down.

Re: Alert! Videomaker is skipping town!

dcbride-
News 12 is a great idea. Maybe the other neworks have not gotten back to us because we're too far east. I also tried The Investigators and no response so I'm 0-for-3.

I put up a small web page explaining what happened to me as a warning to other brides and also as a way to find other brides this guy has wronged.

http://www.geocities.com/stopmarc/

I didn't hear from the new homeowner or the ASCPA today (we filed a complaint with them for his leaving the dog). My husband and I are both going to Marc's house tomorrow.

Tracb-I sent you a forum mail and regular e-mail.

Re: Alert! Videomaker is skipping town!

Thanks, Marcela and Teri.

I also want to thank LI Weddings for having this site!
I don't know what we would have done without the help of all the brides.
And through the thread, more brides are coming forward. I think we're up to 8 brides who have been taken by this guy (plus the 4 I know about from the notes at Marc's house). I hope that number does not go higher! Hopefully, by working together with all your help, we will see that he gets what he deserves!

Re: Alert! Videomaker is skipping town!

I'm sorry Shell I tried to post the same thing you have on the weddingchannel on Ultimate Wedding site but they removed it. You cannot negatively discuss any vendors there unless someone SPECIFICALLY ASKS about each particular vendor. I am assuming for liability reasons. I hope no one there had any problems.
Have you heard back from any of these stations yet? It may take them a little while to do research on your claim before they contact you.

Re: Alert! Videomaker is skipping town!

I saw that the Knot doesn't allow negative posts, so I tried to word my original warning as nicely as possible. Still, a few brides have found their way here from the Knot and Wedding Channel.

I put in a call yesterday to The Investigators (Channel 7) and sent notes to News 12 and Newsday. Fox and Asa didn't get back to me yet from my Tuesday notes.

I can see that this situation is hard to investigate since Marc is not around and no one can get him on the phone. I tried his work number yesterday. It is still in service but the machine doesn't pick up. The cell is no longer in service.

My husband is on his way to Marc's house right now (11 a.m.). It was around this time yesterday that the other bride saw the DJ in Marc's apartment. I hope to have some news in about an hour.

We are also working on a few other leads that I don't want to reveal here in case any of Marc's friends (if he has any!) are watching.

I am at a lose of who to call.
News 12
Assignment desk (regular news coverage):
516-393-1390

Newsroom general: 516-393-1242

You NEED to call, not e-mail these folks. Also CALL Newsday and ask to speak with a local consumer reporter about a breaking story. That should help get their attention.

My Husband's at the house and trying to get in!

Girls-
I just got the call from my husband. The owner, Don, is at the house. They are trying to get into the apartment as I type this. The dog is posing a problem and they're calling ASPCA again.
When they went to the apartment door, there was a key in the door and it was unlocked! I hope our videos are still there!

I'll post when he calls me back.

DH said the new owner bought the house in August! He did go to court yesterday and won tenancy, so he can access the apartment. Marc didn't show.

Re: My Husband's at the house and trying to get in!

The ASPCA has put in a call to the local cops, who will then call the owner to see about getting dog out of the apartment. The owner couldn't stay and no one wanted to risk going into the apartment with a sickly looking pit bull.

My husband said all the computer equipment is gone but he could see about 6 tapes on the desk.

We are going to have to call the owner later to see if the dog has been taken to a shelter. He said we are welcome to take any tapes we find.

Apparently, Marc has been renting from the owner since September and never paid him any rent!

The more I find out about this guy, the more sick I feel.

This man is the most dirtiest and biggest a$$hole there could possibly be!
I hope everything works out for all of the ladies involved with this J***. I hope the dog is picked up and nursed back to health. This situation makes me angry!!!

This story just gets worse as the time goes by. I hope the six tapes found are weddings and can be returned to the rightful owners. Good Luck!!

Re: My Husband's at the house and trying to get in!

my fiance asked the bank to fax him a copy of the check we gave Marc to see what name he signed on the back. My fiance just called me and said the check is not signed by Marc Campbell but by someone whose name begins with an 'F' maybe Frank or Fred, he can't make it out last name begins with an 'H'...could it be the guy that is doing construction on the house? Is Marc even his real name?
